Led by God to a southern Minnesota town in 1937, Andrew Regan is happy to take on a new job as pastor, but when a beautiful young artist enters his life, he will have to deal with the soul-changing effects of love. Original.
I have never read this author before and I doubt it would happen again. I was interested in Christina who was a talented artist. Her mother was never able to marry her father so the illegitimacy affected both of their lives. Rebecca moved away from her parents and became a teacher of young children in a small town. Many people in my family were teachers. The plot in the story moved painfully slow but I really liked Andrew, the minister because he was very caring and led many people to pray and become converted. He also protected and encouraged his cousin Harry who was disabled.
Christina Ellington is an artist who cares for her ailing mother. Though Christina has no faith in God, she wants to make her way in the world, while finding out about her family secrets that she never knew. Andrew Regan is a Chicago city boy, who took a job in the country as a reverend. Soon after Christina falls short of her plans, the two of them finally have an opportunity to meet. Will their different backgrounds cause them to clash, or will Andrew help Christina find a renewed faith in God? Can a common thread between two people let them find something that they have in common?
