In another entertaining audio adventure Sapphire & Steel are joined this time by Gold, played by the always amusing Mark Gatiss.
Some of the ideas may have already been used in previous Sapphire & Steel stories, but it's still an entertaining listen.

So I'm finally nearing the end of this second series of audios from the Sapphire and Steel range, this has been an interesting series, because this alongside series 3 I knew next to nothing about when compared to Series 1. The finale is my most anticipated from this series, but I was looking forward to this one nonetheless since Steve Lyons always comes up with a fun story.

Sapphire and Steel arrive on the Perfect Day, Gold has come to help as well. The passengers on this ship are celebrating a beautiful marriage. So why are they living the same day over and over again willingly? The passengers onboard are about to find out they can't stop the clock, but where is the trigger and will Sapphire and Steel find it before it's too late?

Steve Lyons has written a fun and unsettling audio, that is emotional, tragic, clever, and deeply human. It highlights how selfish people can be, as well as how selfless they can be too. Sapphire and Steel doing a Groundhog Day type of story is an obvious idea to play around with, but Steve Lyons does a brilliant job bringing it together.

Overall: It's a really fun story with a satisfying ending. 9/10

A fairly typical Sapphire and Steel plot - Sapphire and Steel arrive on a yacht to discover that the passengers have been repeating the same day of their lives over and over again for 8 years - enlivened by two unusual features: First, that unlike the ordinary mortals in most Sapphire and Steel stories, the passengers on the yacht know what's going on and aren't keen to have it stopped. Second, Sapphire and Steel are joined once again by Gold.

It's a good solid story with a lot of nice little touches. I think only time will tell whether the nice little touches are enough to really make this one stand out.

Not as great as many of the Sapphire and Steel stories - covers the same ground - people trapped in a day that endlessly repeats - a creepy GroundHog day.
