It’s a brilliant book. I got it last year from my brothers for my birthday as a present. It’s very good and it depicts exact techniques for massaging clients. There’s some valuable information about Shiatsu, the Japanese type of massage, Chinese massage, essential oils to use if appropriate, how to prepare for a massage eg. the type of clothes you should wear, how to prepare the treatment room, etc. There’s information about Holistic massage, baby massage, etc. This is very handy for students at a Beauty college, or even practicing professional Massage Therapists. I highly recommend it.
This could have been worse. It wasn't the most helpful but it did give me an intro to multiple styles of massage and forms a good platform for whatever I choose to learn next. I feel I need a hands-on coach, not a book, though.
If you're studying to be a massage therapist, or have a partner you could practice on then you might want to check this book. It is detailed and has step by step instructions. I on the other hand don't have anybody to practice on nor am I interested in doing so but this book also contain sections for self massage which I loved. It was a small section overall but at the end had extra articles such as lifestyle tips which I enjoyed.
I bought this book in the Bangkok Airport on my way to Munich! It was so wonderful to read it on the plane, since I had much time to learn all the theoretical things outlined in the book! But most of all I enjoyed the sections about how the human body is built up, and how it reacts to massage, etc. Definitely a great buy/read.
