Runic Characters: Poems by Norman Simms

by Norman Simms

From the back "Norman Simms has lived in New Zealand since 1970, and is an editor and writer associated with both Outrigger Publishers and the new Rimu Publishing Company. This is his latest collection of poetry. Early volumes include Time and Time Again; Other Times, Other Places; and Intersecting Worlds. His verse has been translated into Polish, Chinese, Spanish and Romanian. RUNIC CHARACTERS is full of his familiar wit, but with even more of penetrating insight into the dark and ridiculous sides of modern life. There is also a profound sense of ethical responsibility-- poetry, for him, is an exercise of control over 'the runes of time.'"
