A portrait of master Roman conqueror Gaius Julius Caesar sheds new light on his roles as an orator, politician, military general, writer, and statesman and assesses his influence on the transformation of Rome from a small republic to a global empire. Original.
The facts on the book are actually already shortened. But it took me a while to finish because I was so hooked to it that I want to digest every single event written. Isenberg made me love my most hated part of my World History class--which was Roman Empire (I love the Greek history better). Before, I only know that Caesar was a conqueror. Now, I see him as a man who created, written and respect the law. A man who fought alongside his soldiers for Rome. A man who used not only his fearlessness, but also his intelligence to capture the enemies and later turn them into his allies. A man who with a goal in mind set, fought till the very last breath.
I love the way it was written that it is very easy to understand.
