Naomi and her daughter, Kyla, have spent their lives on the move, avoiding the Madera bots that have taken over the country and decimated civilization. Naomi once fought to protect people, but now she fights only for her daughter.
But when Naomi’s past comes back to haunt her, she’ll have to decide whether to return to the fight she left, or protect her daughter from the most dangerous thing one can find: hope.
Naomi used to fight to win the war, now she and her daughter are fighting to survive.
Then Naomi’s past comes back to haunt her. She is once again confronted with the tough decision she made so many years ago. But things have definitely changed since then.
Solid world building and just a strong concept with the humans fighting the machines. The characters are well-fleshed out and easy to root for. Their mother/daughter bond is the core of this story. And there’s enough exciting action scenes to keep the pages flowing.
Overall, a solid and well-written dystopian science fiction story. A good start to a series with potential. Though there aren’t enough answers to make this a standalone read.
The world building had to be my favorite part. I haven't reach many futuristic dystopian books like this one but I can happily say that it is one of the most interesting ones I have read.
I also admired how the two main characters had very distinct personalities although they are related. I enjoyed how I could understand the characters and can't wait to see how their character grows.
This is a great book for people who like futuristic technology, danger, and complexity.
So normally I wouldn't read this type of book. I love fantasy with magic. But I actually enjoyed this story. It's got a lot more to it and excited to see where book to goes.
That night, Naomi rode her "hov bike" cautiously, failing to make out the passing landscape beneath her vehicle.
She had been traveling for an hour, her baby harnessed securely on her back, without observing any sign of life around... She was alone...

A surprising dystopia to discover absolutely for fans of the genre and which features two main female characters who try to survive in a hostile environment.
I liked everything: the characters, the background plot, the rhythm of the book and its many mysteries.
I can't wait to read the rest of the adventures of Naomi and Kyla. I recommend to lovers of mysterious dystopias/science fiction/ youth. ♥️🌏🌐🛰
Naomi and Kyle are rich characters in a jumbled world of the Madera "Bots" that plague their life. Strong and close to her mother, Kyle is shocked when she finds everything she knows about her overprotective mother is false! Author San Filippo has created a believable world, something that COULD be possible. No spoilers, so just know a great first effort! Kudos, Jennifer. 😊
Unlike what I remember of other books from this author, All Roads includes swearing and more technobabble than I could keep up with. That said, this is very much a first installment to a series, and the characters and the post-apocalyptic world were interesting enough that I intend to read at least the next book.
Great story. Wonderful world building. It really transports you to the world it’s set in. The characters have distinct personalities. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series. A truly awesome tale.
This is the first book in a series. More like a novella only about 100 pages.
That being said, this one is the build up.
In a time where the BOTS deemed humans to be the enemies and they decide to wipe all humans out, there’s survivors out there. Can the surviving humans save humankind?
I really enjoyed this book. I liked that it was short but man I want more! Can’t wait for the second one!
