Xiveri Mates #10

Taken to Revatu

Rate this book
I might have survived the crash, but I'll incinerate beneath his gaze.

Crash-landed on an alien planet where everything seems to want to kill me, nothing is worse than the male I crash-landed with. I'd rather jump right off of the edge of this cliff than give into his demands, even if jumping means landing in the arms of a huge, tusked green beast...who says I'm his.
__________

Taken to Revatu is a 50k-word standalone orc shifter romance set in the Xiveri Mates universe and can be read at any point. Watch out while reading as this story contains the threat of SA (sexual assault), sleep play, fully shifted dragon-human mating, battles and mild violence. Like all Xiveri Mates, it ends with an HEA.

Alien Orc/Dragon Shifter goodness. 🔥

This was a novella so I didn't quite get the same level of relationship development that Elizabeth Stephens normally delivers but I still had a fun time.

And uh... The dragon shifty bit.... 🫣 Oh my. 😳

Unabashed love

So, so good...

I am an unapologetic fangirl of this author. I'd follow her work almost anywhere (except blood, can't do blood).

Her world-building is just so amazing and her characters are so real, so fully fleshed and form and even when they aren't "human" I identify with them so much. Her characters are so real they are almost tangible. She built more than a world, she built a UNIVERSE and this story takes place in a new quadrant and with some species that we've met before and some that have only been hinted at and it was a journey! I loved Latanya and Grizz and their love story. It was a real adventure. And can we take a moment for the small touches? A hybrid heroine named Latanya if you've read the whole series and know the type of women likely to give birth to hybrids? Little touches, love it. Her adoptive parents! Oh, I love them. I will spoil nothing but this author gets, likely really gets, the concept of "fated mates" and that it can go beyond a human and an alien but can include two aliens finding each other. So good. I'll be so sad to leave this wonderful world of the Xiveri mates but happy to follow her wherever she goes.

I totally received an ARC because I wanted to read this book early, I'm still probably going to buy it as I've done with other ARCs I've received of hers because they are just that good. And I know I'll enjoy the other stories in this collection as well.

After her escape pod crashes, Latanya is faced with two choices. First, dive off of a cliff. Second, be assaulted by an affluent perverted prince who even though he has never hid his lust for her but has also talked down to her from the moment they met. The cliffs looking pretty good right about now.
Gormativ or Grizz and his hunting party see the crash and go to investigate and salvage what they can. That's where he finds, , ,her. He's sure of a few things. First, that she's a sentient being. Second, she's a lovely one at that. Third and most important, that she's his Xiveri mate. The one that could unlock his Hunger!
Without her translator working correctly, she can understand him and his tribe but, they can't understand her. It's just not her day! He's paired with her to show her the ways of the tribe and that's suppose to be all. Yet they can't fight the Xiveri's call. I will say this, when they do come together it's as unusual as it is explosive!
Unanswered questions get answered. Dangerous, deceitful and devious villains get their comeuppance and surprise character pop ins made the story for me.
Was this a delightful story? Shenti (yes) very much so!

This was also good. But I've been a sucker for her Xiveri Mates Series. They're all 5 stars for me!
This is Latanya and Grizz's story.
Latanya and her people crashland on Revatu. Grizz is one of the Revatu people to come across Negunn and Latanya.
Latanya is adopted. She looks different than everyone else. But she's loved by her parents. So when she loses them in the crash, she wants nothing more than to find them. But Negunn is not a good person and wants Latanya alone and to himself.
Grizz and his people are orc like beings. Once they find their mate, their Xiveri, they can shift into dragon like beings. When he comes across Latanya, he begins to feel a burning in his chest. But the pesky male she's with is stirring something up.

Trigger warnings: There is slight dubcon and somnophilia.

Possible Spoilers!

Latanya is the last human hybrid from the Hunt, sold by Mathilda from the human colony.

Was really looking forward to this story, but also wasn't too sure about this book. As although I've absolutely loved the other books in this Xiveri collection, I'm new to an Orc hero. I really didn't have to worry cause I loved Grizz and Latanya.

Although this book is a novella, it still feels like a proper full length book. Obviously it's shorter but it doesn't feel rushed, and you still get brilliant chemistry between Grizz and Latanya and all the drama, humour and sweet and sexiness that I've come to expect from Elizabeth Stephen's. Oh and there's some serious raunchy scenes lol.

I definitely recommend this book, and if you've not read the other books in the Xiveri collection, go and get them now and you'll seriously not regret it. Although this is a standalone so you don't have to, too thoroughly enjoy this book.

I am huge Xiveri Mates series fan, and this story is set in that world. Of course we do get to see a few of the couples from previous books. Including my Xiveri mate Rhorky Bear. And apparently my man has quite the ruthless King of the Pirates reputation, except for when his tiny and sassy mate is leading him around.

Ok, so onto this story. Latanya aka little monster and others crash land on Revatu. She luckily is found by Grizz, that happens to be her Xiveri mate, because he can protect her from her awful stalker. She incorporates Grizz’s help finding her parents. These two have so much hot af chemistry, with a soulmate bond for sure. Safe read, great storyline, and a hea. I adored these two, they were a great addition to this already addicting world.

“Okay, little monster,” I tell her, massaging her neck. “Wait here. I will bring you his head.”

Crash landing is bad enough, but crash landing with some psycho admirer is a cherry on top you never asked for. Trying to survive with some strangers finding you and getting attracted to a good-looking Alien is not on the menu either. So Latanya does what every reasonable woman would do. She charms. Orc vine-swinging Tarzans with a shifter twist? Action packed and with good spice? Everything and more you will find in this book you never knew you needed!!! You will find Taken to Revatu in the anthology series Claimed among the Stars.

bro why am I crying?

This was the sweetest little wacky, seggsy tale to end what has been an extremely enjoyable storyline. I loved all of the books and this novella (which seemed more packed than some full length novels) was the perfect end. The depth and breadth of this series is so singular as to almost reach incomparable. It really is one of a kind. I’ll definitely be re-reading a few of these because this novella made me realize how much I loved them. If you’re here and you haven’t read the other books, please go back and give them a try. You won’t regret it, I promise.

I love the Xiveri Mates Universe and although this is definitely a stand alone, the writing style is the same and there are some great connections. I adored that Latanya could understand Grizz but he couldn’t understand her so she had to work at their communication. I also loved her fighting spirit. It was good to see this different group and their customs but still see the Xiveri strong within them. Loved the HEA and tie into the rest of the stories at the end. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the stories in the anthology.

What a ride! First things first, content warnings: kidnapping, violence, lots of violence on page and in detail.

If you enjoy monster romance, then this is the book for you! Its a mix of the vibes of monster romance but with aliens and told only the way that Elizabeth Stephens can.

The last 1/3 of book is sooo good! She gathers all the women in the book and lets them showcase their strengths and the found family aspect of the book really shines. Plus the set up for the last book has me on the edge of my seat!

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Highly Entertaining Sci-Fi Action/Romance!!

Latanya has crashed on a jungle planet. She is looking for her parents, who have also crashed, and running from a Quadrant One prince who annoyingly wants her to marry him. She would literally rather jump off a cliff than marry him. Fortunately for her Grizz is there to step in. A new language, a different culture where you must earn your place.

Delightful intro to that culture. Surprises, inner beasts, intrigue and romance. Very enjoyable

***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****

I know orcs are so hot right now, but an orc who's also a dragon shifter is perhaps too genre blending for me. Stephens does have a history of doing this, though I didn't really love those books either. She's the only one doing what she's doing so I will keep reading her regardless. TBQH, this felt like a strange coda for an otherwise excellent series. I didn't really care for the MMC, and the FMC didn't seem to have much of a personality besides looking for her parents and avoiding an unwanted suitor? But it could be that it's just been too long since I read the others in the series with these particular hybrids so I wasn't as excited as I should have been about her as I was reading.

Read at your own discretion

So he’s an orc like alien that transforms into a dragon mid-fuck—confirming that you’re “fated” (that’s not actually the term that they use, but that is it in simplest form) mates and continues to fuck you mid-flight.

There’s also some sort of knotting involved, that locks you in with him until your belly bulges. He doesn’t call it a knot tho, he calls them barbs and he has them all along his cock (don’t ask to elaborate I don’t know how to picture it either but I’m thinking ridges that act like a knot?)

That’s it, that’s the review.

Dragons?

Not all of residents of planet turn into them but the unaware of her origins hybrid human mate does.
Now I enjoyed this book. Hope it is not last in this new galaxies. But new new open up with the search for lost humans. With third with them going to Earth, finding the new Earthlings.
Hopefully the have a few more of this planet. Since the intro seems to imply there are volcanos on most of planet. With some places clear. Would be good place for some relocated humans.
There must also be land formed by the cooled lava. With two dragons they can explore planet.

honestly some of the best sci-fi romance out there!

This entire series/world is gold. Elizabeth is an amazing author, she has created a rich world that balances the monster smut tropes we love with characters we can care about. Now for the things I look for in reviews, great spice, perfect balance between romantic tensions and plot. The characters don’t take an infuriatingly long time to get together, but also isn’t too fast. 10 out of 10 I recommend every book in this series.

It was great! Elizabeth Stephens doesn't disappoint with her interesting world building and character development. this book was no different. I could not put the book down I really love Grizz he may be my favorite out of all the Xiveri mate men!

It was a Novella so I understand that it was going to be short but I was left wanting to know more about the main characters especially Grizz. I wanted Latanya to get to know her new found family a bit more. I think this is supposed to be the last of the series but I think the series would benefit from a "tie up" book.

What a surprise it was to finally meet the last lost hybrid!!! Her story is absolutely amazing and portrays just how strong a human female can be with and without a strong male character at her side.
Latanya and Grizz are amazing as main characters and their story is absolutely amazing. I fell in love along side them and the HEA bonus at the end brought my tears of happiness. This was the best ending to an amazing series!

I read this novella as part of the Claimed Among the Stars alien anthology.

Technologically advanced aliens crash on a primitive planet occupied by an orc-like tribe. Feat. males who, once they find their true mate, are able to shift into... dragons? Or a dragon-like creature, anyway.

Quick-paced and engaging with some excellent spice.

Tropes: fated mates, stuck together

Ughhh I so wish that this was an actual regular length book and not a novella. This is another great book by Stephens. I just love this series so much. Just the alien/human context of learning about each other's difference and falling in love...so good.

DNF giving it two stars just because I did get pretty far in the book. However I can't for the life of me bring myself to read the last 20 pages. It's simply that I lost interest and there were other books that called my name.

So I am writing a universal review for all 10 books in this series. This is one of the best acid I romance series ever. Everyone single full book and the novellas are all five stars. The audiobooks are also so well done! I relished to them all the time. Such as incredibly talented author.

a quick and spicy conclusion

The final hybrid has been discovered. There were motives that didn’t make a lot of sense to me, but ultimately, I enjoyed the story.
