This is the first book that I have read from this series and I absolutely loved it. Addi and Miro are an amazing pair of characters— their backstory is nicely set up, their chemistry is sizzling, and their banter is perfect. I found myself giggling multiple times at their shared sarcasm and funny comments, and I’m pretty sure I blushed a few times in solidarity for whoever of the two was feeling awkward in a particular scene. This was so enjoyable that my “ eh, I can get in one more chapter before sleeping” turned into “Ah crap, it’s 6:00 am and I still haven’t gone to bed yet!” I enjoyed the multiple viewpoints used to tell the story, and thought it really added something to have the chapters progress from The Man to The Beast to Miroslav as the beast became tamed and merged with the man to simply become Miro. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series!!

I really did enjoy this, particularly the fact it’s told in multiple POV, each character being represented as I love seeing how each character thinks and feels and the author does a brilliant job ensuring each voice is distinct. I loved the slow burn , but once we get there, oh how I loved that steam. This is a great read with fab characters , I’ll definitely be reading the next

I really enjoyed this book. This was a well written story with likeable MCs and an ending I wasn't quite expecting. I think there was the right amount of "spicy" for this story, and the placement was spot on. The was the 1st book I've read by this author and I will be reading more.
Such an AMAZING read. Genuinely enjoyed it with every word. Characters? Fleshed-out and relatable. Story? Intriguing and captivating. I absolutely, thoroughly loved reading this.
I highly recommend Caught By The Dark by Alexa H. Michaels - an intriguing paranormal romance with a well-crafted plot and slow-burning romance. The characters are compelling and the intricately written storyline transports you into the story.
The narrative centers on Addi and Miro. Addi, a seer, was abducted by the pack Alpha to aid Miro in overcoming a century-old curse. Miro, also known as the "monster of Blackwater Manor," is cursed to share his body with a bloodthirsty and malicious creature. And Addi is the innocent young woman caught in the middle of the struggle between man and monster.
Addi has a strong conviction that her fate is intertwined with Miro's, based on her visions. Having only fleeting glimpses of what's to come, she is uncertain of how much longer she'll have with him. As they work together to uncover the mystery behind the curse before the upcoming blood moon, their mutual attraction leads to intense and delicious sexual tension. They both sense that something significant is happening between them, and they know it's time for secrets to be exposed, changes to be made, and traitors to be confronted.
Caught By The Dark is an exciting and passionate adventure! Every time I had to pause reading, I couldn't wait to return to it.
The main characters in this story are endearing. Miro is a complex hero, who bears the weight of his struggles, while Addi exudes a gentle power that perfectly complements him. She confronts every difficulty with courage and empathy, and her spirit radiates positivity despite any obstacle. Addi is a strong female protagonist, with a compassionate heart. And despite being a beast, Miro adores her, displaying a tender side around his precious mate.
If you enjoy a plot-heavy monster romance, this unique take on the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is definitely worth checking out.

I really liked this book and maybe loved it, if I don't think about it too much.
The chemistry was off the charts, especially from Beasty. I had such a hard time putting this down and counting the minutes until I could pick it up again. But it felt like Miro constantly described her/talked about her lithe body. Constantly. I was getting so tired of reading that word by the end of the book, which seemed to drag on for an unnecessary amount of time. There were things that didn't match up with Addi: like she says grace before each meal, seems to be the church going type. But at the drop of the hat she turns into a sexy dancing siren at the weekly pack get together, grinding on Miro and basically putting on a show for everyone else. A teenager later says 'oh, you were the one dirty dancing with Miro'. I don't care how 'drunk' she was, it doesn't go with how parts of her were portrayed. Then she would just know things at just the right time that there wasn't a hint she knew before, like how to make healing potions or that she traveled a lot with her soul sister Margot, but she lived in an orphanage and was about to age out at 21.
There was a lot of build up to the Blood Moon, and then it sort of passed and nothing major happened, just a continuation of the little things already happening. Then when the stalker is captured, its off page and they get to just come in so she can get a read on him. But first, they needed sexy time. It felt like there would be a crisis or something with the pack and its all for the pack and we must help the pack who didn't turn their back on Miro throughout his curse, but first they needed to do something sexual with her lithe body. I didn't mind the scenes; it was the timing of them.
Then there was the build up to finding out whodunit. We all knew who did it, but it felt like more should have been done beforehand, like surveillance on the suspected person, something. But no, just Natasha getting nearly gutted to make it look like Miro did it. When Addi took care of things, then suddenly there was a way to use magic to point the finger in the right direction. Oh, and I read Natasha's epilogue, which also didn't make sense. Her friend is taken by someone from her mom's old life and she's not even a little worried. But neither are her parents. They were all oh it is so sad, but we have already packed and you can come live with us or you can stay here. There were so many contradictions in those few pages and so little emotion/empathy from Natasha.
But if I don't think about all of that, then I really liked the book.

Addi is a psychic so when Miro's brother, the pack alpha comes through her bedroom window to kidnap her to help his brother, she's already packed and ready to go. I found the banter between Addi and the alpha so funny because he thought she would be putting up a fight but all he had to do was ask, she was ready and willing to help.
Miro is a wolf shifter but he was cursed over a century ago so his wolf is a bloodthirsty killer. Miro's two halves can talk to each other when the other is in control but they mostly just yell and talk down to each other. At night his beast is in control and during the day Miro's human half is in charge. Miro is not able to leave his land at night when the beast is in control because the beast has no problem killing anyone.
Miro's brother finds Addi and brings her back to Miro's house because they all think she is the key to breaking the curse. Since she is psychic, she's seen herself helping but Miro has some rules. He wants her to stay in the house and away from the beast at night. He can't get into the house because of magic so she's safe as long as she stays inside. Miro cannot control the beast and is scared he will kill her but when they meet, he's sarcastic and threatening because he doesn't want the curse broken obviously but he doesn't hurt her. Seeing Addi and the beast together made me smile more than once.
This book has elements of Beauty and the Beast as well as Jekyll and Hyde and kept me engaged right from the very beginning. Addi is funny, strong and sometimes reckless but I loved that about her. Miro is strong, so alpha and scared of his other half until they start working together to make sure that Addi is safe. I love a Beauty and the Beast retelling so seeing his other half as a real beast to be scared of was fun because you never knew what to expect from him.
Breaking the curse is not the only thing that's going on, there's also someone trying to cause problems and causes there to be more danger brought to their doorstep as well as someone else trying to bring Miro down. I loved the mystery surrounding all of this. This ended up being one of the best wolf shifter stories I've read this year. I absolutely recommend this book if you like this kind of story.
The author notes in the beginning of the book, that rather than a Beauty and the Beast type retelling, this is more of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde inspired story. And I think the author did a wonderful job with it because her story is much more interesting than the original story by that one British guy, plus she put smut in hers. I did have a little more trouble getting into this story than the two previous ones, because I think this one has a slower start. Addi is complicit with her kidnapping (read it and you'll understand) and Miro is being angsty. And the story continues like that for bit. Though, the story does pick up wonderfully! Addi gets to grow into her powers and develop her own personality and she manages to hold her own against the Beast. I think I really liked how, even though she's pretty shy, she still pushes the Beast and Miro with her antics trying to break the curse. Miro and Beast are very similar is certain aspects and Addi gives them each a run for their money. I liked seeing Miro and the Beast interacting with Addi. They each had their own way of interacting and having them argue over what was best for her was hilarious and adorable!
The story is told in multiple POV, with Addie, Miro, and the Beast each having their own voices and the author does a wonderful job making sure each is unique and not just simply the same voice from a different character. While this can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading the series in order. Not so much that if you read it, the story will make more sense, but that all stories are wonderful and should be enjoyed!
There is more steam in this book than the other two and it is a delicious slow burn with Miro, the Beast, and Addi! There's also a bit of violence, murder, and swearing in the story. I do hope the next one comes out soon!! It's a wonderful series will all great characters and I'd recommend checking out the author's other works as well!
ARC from Author *No spoilers * 18+ Adult Standalone Dark Romance within the Monsters in Moonlight series, Book 3 M/F, Seer, Werewolf, HEA, Monster romance, Enemies to lover, Strong FMC, slow burn/med spice
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and adored the main characters; Addi is an absolute delight from start to finish and the way she interacted with Miro and Beastie a joy to read. Miro, with his past, you wouldn't expect to love but you do and you are rooting for him and the Beast every step of the way. Love the internal dialogue between Miro and his Beast - one of my fave parts. The relationship dynamics between this threesome are glorious; sad at times, hilarious at others but riveting 100% of the time with the spice slowly heating up to melt your panties off!
Side characters are just as colourful with some interesting relationships burgeoning. The two mysteries unfortunately were obvious from the start, the curse wasn't an issue for me but the other I would have preferred a little more hidden agenda.
However this was a jolly good read, think a three course dinner with all the trimmings and a decent bottle of wine or what ever floats your boat. That lovely, sated feeling afterwards with the tingly buzz; well this book gives you that and on that note I am going to find more from this author as I like her style very much indeed.

This is Book 3 of the Monsters in Moonlight interconnected series and can be read as a standalone and is the story of Addi and Miro. Addi is a seer and and Miro is a cursed (and I mean literally) werewolf. He was cursed a century ago and has lived separated from his wolf. By day his Miro, brother to the Alpha, logical, and calm, but night he becomes the “monster of Blackwater Manor” or the Beast. Beast is a humanoid version of his wolf, who is full of rage and kills without remorse.
Addi is kidnapped by the Miro’s brother in hopes of curing the curse. She is brought to the pack and enters a fake marriage with Miro. Miro does everything in his power to keep her away from the Beast but the Beast has other ideas. Beast is fascinated by Addi and she is not afraid of him. She becomes the only person he would not harm. Addi becomes the catalyst that causes Miro and the Beast to communicate and work together. But will this be enough to break the curse?
This was a great plot with plenty of smexy times and the characters are wonderful. While I loved Miro and felt for him, I was partial to the Beast. I found myself not really sure if I wanted the cursed broke. But don’t worry, there is a HEA!
A good story with interesting characters. I like the duality of Miro, and Addi just comes across as cool. If I had one complaint about the book, it is that the two mysteries were a bit obvious and a little drawn out but dealt with extremely easily.
Addi is used to knowing what is going to happen and then putting the pieces back together of how. With her powers of a seer, she is rarely taken by surprise. Now she is offered the one thing she has always dreamed of a home. All she has to do is solve the curse of the spoiled but cursed Prince of a tribe of Warewolves. Getting eaten by Miro's out of control beast is the least of her problems or discoveries.
Great chemistry between the characters. A hood guilty pleasure book. It's not too dark and more sad in places. I am glad that another character from thus book us going to get their own book, but I do think another couple deserver yo have their story told.

While I enjoyed the romance more in this book, book two's plot of the missing girls was a lot more interesting. The stakes felt higher and it was a bit more action-packed and thrilling. This plot was definitely interesting and we had the side plot going on, but I felt like the stalker plot took a backseat to figuring out the curse. I think it should have been the opposite since we kind of knew what was going on with the curse from the get.
The romance is a bit insta-lovey, but honestly, when done right I'm here for it and this was definitely done right. Getting Miro's POV, especially since he has two personalities, really added depth to the romance and I believed their feelings for each other. I do with there was a bigger "ah-ha" moment when we find something out about them.
Overall, I did enjoy this book and might check out more from the series in the future.
Adelaide (Addi) sees things both past and future when she touches an item or a person. She is kidnapped from her orphanage and is married to a werewolf/monster to be his temporary wife. It is believed that she can break his curse and he can become whole again. She left the orphanage willingly as she saw herself being taken to her forever home.
Miro was cursed and now his destructive monster comes out at night.
This is Addi and Miro's story and I loved it.
The story appears to be like a modernisation between "The Beauty and the Beast" and "Little Red Riding Hood" but is a much darker story.
“When you look at me like that, I forget to breathe. “
4.5⭐️
This book had me giggling so much. The inner dialogue between The Beast and The Man was so entertaining. It’s a super slow burn romance with quite a bit of spice towards the end. I would have preferred just a touch more but I really enjoyed this book and story. The characters were likable, Miro is super possessive with a bit of touch her and you’re unalived by the beast 😍😍🫠🫠 Addi was super fun to read with her banter back and forth, a strong FMC and watching her grow with her powers 🤩🤩
Addi has always known what she wanted and as soon as the opportunity presented itself, she took it with both hands but, she didn’t count on Miro. You feel for Addi and her longing to belong, whilst Miro is a tortured soul who desperately wants peace. This book is a good length as it gives the characters time to form a relationship which makes the story more believable. This is a great book from start go finished. It is dark and (very) sexy, with amazing chemistry between the leads. This is a 5* read.
Book three in the Monsters in Moonlight series. I recommend reading the previous books to fully enjoy this story.
This is an original take on werewolf stories and is a mix between Jeckyl and Hyde and Beauty and the Beast.
Miro is a wolf thas isn't able to shift, thanks to a curse. His brother has been looking for a cure and was pointed toward Addi, a seer. She had been having dreams about Miro and knows she is the one to help him. They have until blood moon to lift the curse… less than a week away.
I enjoyed the multiple POV in this book - especially that of Miro!
This is a wonderful book. The world that the author creates with its paranormal aspects is stunning in its complexity. The characters are very vivid and wonderful to get to know. I love how the author switches point of view to let you have a more well rounded experience with the MCs. The spice is beautifully done. I loved watching their relationship grow and change as they did. The conflict and curveballs were wonderful to try to figure out. Truly a great read.
A stunning slow burn love story woven with werewolves, fae, seers, and more! Fantastic fantasy balanced with deep emotion, steamy love scenes, action, suspense, and magic of all kinds. I really connected with the leads and found myself rooting for them. There were some great twists and turns, a few surprises, and intriguing supporting characters whose stories I also hope are told as the series progresses. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I will definitely be reading more.
I'm obsessed with this book! The storyline is super intriguing and different than I've ever read. So much drama, action, suspense and spice!! The characters are written so perfectly and smoothly - love how well everyone meshes together. The FMC and MMC are seriously amazing together! The chemistry is 🔥🔥 And the steamy scenes are 🥵🥵 They go through an emotional rollercoaster, but come out with a happy ending. I can't wait for book 2!
There are some darker elements that some might have a hard time with.
I loved this book, it has a Beauty and the Beast/ Jekyll and Hyde vibe. I enjoyed how Addi grows into her own throughout the book. Miroslav is definitely a villain. I did feel bad for him eventually but believe that he deserved the curse. This will take you for a ride. An awesome monster romance! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This story is told from the perspective of Abbi, Milo (the man) and Milo (the beast). Man and beast are not united and it's up to Abbi to united them. This was a very good story, I just wish the two sisters found a middle ground.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book didn't grab me. The heroine also was very mean. She knows there have been kidnappings of supernatural girls her age. Yet she deliberately doesn't tell her sister or her guardian where she will be, so they are going crazy thinking something terrible has happened to her. She didn't even leave a note.
What a wonderful book. I absolutely loved it. The story just captured me and kept me hostage from start to finish. I loved the relationship between Addi and Miro, the story itself was great. There’s nothing bad I can say about the story. I want to read Natasha’s next. I received this book from BookSirens. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review
Omg this book was so good it’s stared off so funny with the kidnapping I always knew the beast wouldn’t hurt her.I really was hoping that Sherman was there mom but all and all this was a good read she tamed the beast
Addie is a seer taken by a pack to help their friend Miro, whose curced, but as Addie visions become more vivid she sees a connection much deeper with Miro. well written engaging steamy tension desires action and more,.
Good reading. I really like dual/multiple POVs, my favourite trope is slow-burn enemies to lovers, and the amount of spice is just right when we finally get to it.
The plot was perhaps a bit obvious. And the FMC was at times perhaps closer to mean than sharpwitted?
DNF. I loved her sister's book, but this one didn't at all hold my interest. I also don't jive with NC threats between Main Characters. I'd rather not find out if it also happens.
