Bartender Mate

Rate this book
Growing up in Valhalla’s Pass wasn’t easy but it made you tough. When her uncle died suddenly, Tess took over the family legacy–Last Chance Bar–in a heartbeat. She didn’t count on the gambling debts.

However, when a new group of scary looking cos-play bikers turn up offering her protection, she’s convinced her quirky bestie is pranking her. Little does Tess know that the Stellar Misfits Motorcycle Club are dead set on winning her over as their fated mate. They’ll start with defending Last Chance Bar from their age-old rivals, the Drakon Hunters MC.

Will Tess be able to put aside her natural skepticism and embrace the idea that the stars might be smiling on her after all? Or will she turn her back on her fated mates, risking their lives in the process, and never let her heart soar?

Interstellar Dragon Mates of Drakonis is the latest sizzling, why choose paranormal motorcycle club romance written by Miri Stone & K.O. Newman. It’s going to have all of the good stuff. Gritty themes, diverse relationship dynamics, plenty of cussing, explicit content in the boudoir, heart-stopping action sequences and, at times, graphic violence. In other words, this sci-fi romance series has been written for a mature audience.

Hop on for a wild ride.

This was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The thing I love most about Miri Stone and KO Newman's writing is how effortlessly they balance a story that is fun, wild & sexy against the kind of plot and character depth that just makes you go *oof*.

The character wounds were real, the struggles were real, the barriers preventing them from giving into the sizzling heat between them from the first meeting were real, and yet even with all that depth and angst, it was still such a fun and sexy read about alien dragons. Also, I just love seeing how head over heels the men are for each other as well as for Tess ❤️ Highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing and exciting read that has the extra depth to make the story linger long after.

I was delighted to receive an ARC of the book and I'm leaving my honest review.

Bartender Mate is the first book in Miri Stone and K.O. Newman’s new Interstellar Dragon Mates of Drakonis series. While this is book one and can be read as a standalone, there are two companion novellas available and their plots are referenced in this book. I could not put this book down. K.O. and Miri have perfected the PNR co-write. The plot is so unusual and refreshing in what can be a saturated genre. The characters are well written and are so easy to fall in love with. Tess is a fantastic main character. She is tough and sassy and you can’t help but be in awe of her fierceness. This is a Why Choose Romance, which means Tess has more than one love interest. What I love about this one is that the swords do cross.. that means MM romance. If that’s not your thing, you may want to skip this one.. but two words: Alien… Peen.. 😮‍💨 Tess’ group of men have someone for everyone’s tastes: Asteroid who has a warrior’s spirit but an artists soul. Quasar seems all sunshine and rainbows but has more depth than we realize, and then there is Radon. Dark and broody but will have all your protective instincts flaring. This book has it all - fantastic characters, a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat, why choose, aliens, shifters, enemy motorcycle clubs, HOT smexy times and emotional moments that will tug your heart strings. Must read for sure, I can’t wait to see where this series goes! Pick this one up now!

This book was a solid 3.5 stars for me. I read a lot of paranormal, but it was my first time reading an alien themed book. I have to say that I found it quite enjoyable.

I enjoyed the characters & how the males had already been bonded before finding their fourth fated mate. The relationships between them were all quite complex & they all ended up fitting together perfectly.

I did, however, find at times that the internal monologues ran a bit long for me & I had to go back to read what question was asked. Despite that, I did enjoy the insight that they gave & it didn't feel like there wasn't new information given.

I do wonder what happened to Dan??? He just sort of disappeared & wasn't mentioned again, after he was established as being close to Tess.

Some tropes that were in this book are:
alien, forced proximity, protector, hero, fated mates, MC.

I am looking forward to seeing how this series progresses 😊

I did receive an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Bartender Mate
By Miri Stone & K.O. Newman

An ARC Review

I'm struggling on how to review this book. The story is good if you are into alien/ dragon poly love stories. Once I had read over half, I enjoyed the story. But the first half was challenging. There is a lot going on. A ton of characters pop up without much introduction. The descriptions of the alien/dragons is confusing at best. The "acceptance" of them in the small town is unrealistic. As a fellow writer, I wanted to fix the issues and as a reader, I struggled to not walk away from it. I'm glad I finished it though. The way the flawed characters found acceptance and love is why we read romance novels. The sweetness of the story is great. The steamy, spicy sex scenes are delicious. I just would have enjoyed it more if things had been smoothed out earlier in the book.

Hot hot Hot!!
That is the best way to describe this book. If Tess thought she had trouble before, she was sorely mistaken. Upon the arrival of the Stellar Misfits MC, she is thrown into a world of dragons, aliens, and fated mates.
All she wants to do is save the bar that is her families legacy, and instead she now is under the protection of a group of cosplaying biker? Three who claim she is their mate?
What's a girl to do?

This book was so fun, and great to read. Very spicy, and I do love the undercurrents and damaged sides to each of our characters. I do wish we had more of Asteroids point of view, but all in all it was a fun read with some scenes so spicy that my phone nearly overheated!

Bartender Mate is the first book in the Interstellar Dragon Mates of Drakonis. It is a why choose, MC, sci-fi romance with action, violence, m/m, fated mates, and dragon shifters.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great and I loved Tess and the guys together. The writing, storyline, storytelling, flow, character development, relationship development, and world building are all terrific.

This is an awesome read that I would definitely recommend.

I just couldn't stop reading!!!!

Miri and K.O. did it again! Another book I just couldn't put down! I love how stubborn Tess was and it took Radon to get passed his fears for things to start to fall in place for the foursome. Q and Astroid also amazing. I can't wait to see where the Stellar Misfits go and what happens next!

I love Miri and KO, their individual books and the worlds they create together but this one is not as wow as it could be. I got very confused with the inner monologues and the "my mate" because I could never follow which mate they were talking about. That said, I really like the story and the out of this world dragons.

Motorcycle, alien dragon reverse harem?!! Sign me up.

This didn’t quite live up to my expectations. My main issue being the FMC. Being sassy and bitchy does not automatically make you a “strong” FMC. Tess lacked depth.

Spice was decent though and this does have MM with already established MM relationships.

It was a little bit different from the others and I loved that about it! Our main lady was a fighter when it came to being told she was a mate!

This group of mates seemed to have a few more individual issues and that made them more real and perfect for each other!

As always steam abounds but with an underlying love that isn’t right in your face!

Loved it!

This is said to be book 1, but I got four chapters in, and this can't be the first book in the series. The writing is done as if assuming the reader knows the secondary characters and the surrounding world. There is absolutely no world building. I'm not a fan, too many good books out there to waste time on one I'm not enjoying. DNF

I loved this book

I am so glad that I read this book, just the right amount of romance, suspense, hunks, spunky FMC, it was great. Who wouldn't want three spunky fated mates that think your everything.

I really enjoyed Bartender Mate. Underneath the tough exterior, Tess was really a big softy. Her fated mates were sweet and each had different personalities which made for a good dynamic between the 3 of them to read about. The steamy scenes certainly fogged the mirrors. 🥵 The only thing I’d like to have seen is the ending explain what happened to some of the other characters that had a part in the book. Other than that it was a great read!

I really love K.O. Newman and Miri Stone’s work and I do like the world they have created with the Interstellar Dragon Mates of Drakonis series and so I will definitely be continuing with it. ♥️💜 I am looking forward to see what happens next for the Stellar Misfits MC.
