I love using this book for SUD/MAT IOP group sessions. The clients have found it to be really informative, but in a casual way that they really appreciate. It has supported a lot of bigger conversations to be had!

This is an approachable, compassionate, and easy to follow book on addiction - written as a workbook for the person dealing with a possible addiction to drugs and/or alcohol - or for the person coping with the addict. Discussion covers areas such as "Am I an addict?", "What is chemical addiction?", "Identifying high risk situations", "Dealing with emotions", and "Self-defeating beliefs and behaviours". This is an excellent book for someone to "start with" - if they're wondering if they or someone they know - has an addiction, and then wonders: "now what?".
