I thought this was a philosophical book on how to understand archery, but its more of a guide from the most basic foundational skills and even purchasing

A good, solid introduction to recurve archery. Some of the photography is sub-standard, but this is a minor niggle. The author has also produced a DVD that shows you how to tune your bow (this is a separate purchase - not included in the book).
