When Officer Anthony Petrocelli literally drops down off his horse and lands at Kate Anderson's feet to announce he's her destiny, Kate figures it's just another typical day in New York. Besides, no hunky Italian on a stallion talking about his grandmother's "marriage vision" (in tea leaves, for crying out loud) is going to disrupt Kate's plans. And that's a prudent marriage to a corporate attorney (whose difficulties in the bedroom are sure to be temporary).
Luckily, Anthony isn't in the market for a bride. He just wants the already-engaged Kate to meet his family and disprove their silly prediction once and for all. Problem is, steamy thoughts of Anthony have been running nonstop through Kate's head. Beneath her well-bred sensibility, a new, passionate, unpredictable Kate is beginning to think that maybe love shouldn't be practical. And that a cop named Anthony could be just what the Fates have planned for her after all...
I liked the premise of this book – Tony has had it predicted how and when he would meet his future wife and he can’t believe it when it comes true, only she is engaged to someone else.
Quite a funny story, only there is no backstory as to why Kate and Harold were together in the first place.
It was obvious that Tony and Kate would end up together but I liked the twist of Harold falling in love as well.
Pretty ridiculous romance novel. I was finding it slightly tedious at the start but found myself warming to it, towards the end. Make sure you suspend belief the entire time or you will get nothing out of this.
Officer Anthony Petrocelli's blind grandmother predicted 20 years earlier that he would meet his wife when he was 36 and she'd be blond, green eyed and standing next to the Virgin Mary in Central Park. When he sees Kate Anderson while on his mounted patrol in Central Park, standing next to a painting of the Virgin, he feels destiny stepping in and stops and tells her the story. Kate meanwhile, is engaged to a rich corporate attorney who appears to have a sexual problem, who she doesn't love, but thinks is the appropriate husband. Harold's father told him to put his wife on a pedestal and have fun elsewhere, so Kate's on the pedestal while he has fun with high priced call girls on business trips.
Tony pursues Kate and Harold shows his true self, so Kate breaks the engagement. Kate & Tony spend a great week together at his cabin and fall in love but still need to work out the HEA.
Nice side romances with her two best friends. Humorous but credible. We written - kept me reading. Some sex.
This book was quirky and sweet. All the characters were awesome. The book was written 9 years ago so there were some outdated references. But I loved that about the book.
And I loved how Tony knew She is my Destiny.... of course now I keep singing "Shut up and Dance with me" lol
A delightful romantic comedy which is totally unrealistic but is of the most engaging kind. The author has a knack for writing in a witty, humorous way which made it an absolute pleasure to read.
