I really can't wait for the next novel translated to Bahasa Indonesia. At least, I have to wait for one year:(

I love the illustrations in this book that can help me to develop the world in this novel. But.. I think this novel can add more illustrations. Because it's so amazing! Thanks to Mr. Iacopo Bruno for the illustrations. And of course, thanks to Mr. Pierdomenico Baccalario for the best novel series, I love how you can build the characters inside. ♡

Wow! Just, wow! The thing I love and hate about Pierdomenico Baccalario is that he always ends his books in such moments that you want to grab the next book and continue the story. Sometimes it might be troublesome, when the next book is not published, but fortunately I have all the Ulysses Moore books!
The eighth book started rather slow. The first 50-100 pages were good, but not to the point you wanted to read and read and read but then... wow! That was a one, crazy ride! So many weird things happened. Weird but so wonderful and mysterious that I was reading the rest of the book with my breath held. And of course the ending. It left me with such unbearable curiosity that I must start reading the next book right away!

Jason. Jason, no. Jason, tío. Jason estás colgado. Jason eres un fucker. Jason tío. Jason. Jason deja de hacer el Jason. Joder, Jason.

Also: Anna, respira hondo, eres un gato.

wow. yup just wow.

Seriously what happend in this book.

First I just want to point out that love interests as well as the characters are growing so much and I'm a front row observer really.
Also someone said that the way Tommaso travelled is kinda irrealistic from the usual way since he didn't travelled through a door, but hear me out. When Oblivia managed to go through Vila Argo's door, Jason and Julia went trought the usual way to Metis and Rick to confuse them went on a different path. It was a few books ago but I think it lead him to the beach?
Think about it if you make the same path that Rick took but backwards you could technically reach Metis without ever crossing the door. And once you're in Metis (a boat keep in mind) all you need to do is close your eyes and tell it where you wanna go. Which was exactly what Tommaso did.
He was in a boat (another boat and even better, a Peter Dedalus creation) and he closed his eyes wanting to travel to the old Venice. And on top of that he had everything that was said more than once in the book that was needed, an object from the place you want to visit and a guide.
He had the mask and cloak and Peter's boat that could definitly be the guide since Metis also usually guides them everywhere. So he travelled but we don't know where yet.
I feel like boats are a key thing (ahah get it?) in this series, they travel in a boat, they live incredibly close to the water and in the beggining their clues where left with a small boat replica....

The way they found Arcadia, I mean it was a very beautiful moment. But I'm not gonna lie, this ending gave me kind of creppy vibes. There's a "new" unfinished door, which they were able to re-open (in my opinion it works differently because it's unfinished) but whatever happend behind the door made the scenery change because it wasn't Jason who returned. So wth is behind this door.
To finish this review full of rambling I just wanna say, I'm glad Manfred and Oblivia are out of the picture but I would actually like a glimpse of what is happening with them and wherever they are, the Flint's could join them to be honest.

Lastly the only thing that annoys me in this series is really the fact that something always prevents them from travelling together, someone always stays behind. And yes it's on purpose because they always manage to help fixing something that went wrong on the other side but still it makes me mad that they never fully experience things together.

Just a quick side note, I don't know if the illustrator changed styles or wtv (because yes it's still the same) but the small illustrations we've been getting since book 7 on the beggining of chapters are simply beautiful. As well and the page lenght illustrations of either a character or a place, I love the touch and let me just tell you, I'm obsessed with the kitchen one, Pierdomenico describes things in a way that I imagined this kitchen so SO close to what Lacopo illustrated that it blew my mind a little and made me go back to this page so many times just to relive the moment.

I 100% prefer the first 6 books so far and thats why I cannot give the same rating.
I like Anita and the the 3 main characters are still amazing!! I will, of course, continue my reread!

Idk how I feel about the new villains of the story and I dont like how they are not using the keys anymore.
But overall it was a nice story!

I was confused about how Tommi ended up in The Veneza that has a Time Door, without going to Kilmore Cove and using a key.
Anita found Kilmore Cove because she had a guide and something from there, which is all you need, but Kilmore Cove actually exists in their world. That Veneza does not so the same logic should not apply, i think...

Ga sabar banget nunggu penjelasannya. Semoga ada di buku ke-9 🤲.

At last, ceritanya seru, menegangkan dan endingnya gantung sangat, bikin gemes. 4 dari 5 bintang untuk Penguasa Petir. I really liked it.

Very nice! The adventure continues. Things are told down to the details. This allows me to get a feel for what is going on, and to imagine what the writer is trying to portray. This book 'Ulysses Moore 8' is my first book in the 7-12 series, previously I already had the 3rd and 5th books. The story is a bit confusing because I missed several series that have sold out, with new characters and places, and of course, the mystery that continues. Even so, the story can draw me into the book, and make my curiosity deeper, until the ending of this book which encourages me to buy the next book if I want to know what happens next. I will be looking forward to, maybe in a while, the 9th book series will be translated and published in Indonesia.

Ottavo libro dove troviamo nuovi amori, nuove avventure, nuovi temibilissimi nemici ma soprattutto verità inattese.

Lots of lore, new characters, and puzzle pieces falling into place. A bit harder to follow, but important to the saga. The “big picture” of Kilmore Cove and its enemies becomes clearer. Explore how Jason, Rick, and Anita ventured to France to look for the dying village, which is intriguing. Ended in a cliffhanger.

An amazing adventure series I couldn't stop reading! I had to learn to read in Italian in order to finish the series in Italian, because only the first 4 books are translated to English.

Tre colonne aprono la via dell'erba
che conduce alla frontiera d'acqua.
Se il cancello fosse chiuso,
ricordatevi di non bussare.
Non è considerato scortese,
invece, chiudere l'acqua.

Pues no oye😂😂.
