The Siblings of Heir #2

Blurry Little Lines

I’ve always avoided forbidden fruit. Problem is, now I’ve got a taste for it…

MAX

Maybe it’s the childhood vow I made to my best friend’s sister as she sobbed in my arms, but I fell for Kelsie Wheaton at an age when girls supposedly had cooties.

Through the years, I’ve bitten my tongue over her life choices, because I’ve only ever wanted her to be happy. But acting as her PT while she blows off steam from her divorce, means my thoughts on cardio are more explicit than her innocent mind can conjure.

And that’s complicated, because a night with Kelsie could end my lifelong friendship with her brother if he finds out.

Fighting temptation alone is one thing, but when the fruit falls within my reach, how can I not devour it entirely?

KELSIE

Money’s never been able to buy me the things I want. My ex used my family’s name, for his fame and ditched the life we created. So much for my dream life.

The only man who’s ever kept his promises to me has been by my side for decades and out of reach forever. An exhausted single mother is the exact opposite of every woman Max Dawson has ever brought to bed. So there's no way I'll be next.

I've been telling myself I'm done with relationships anyway. But then one champagne-infused night has me questioning everything I thought I knew about my childhood best friend.

And I can’t lose him too. Not now, not ever.

Blurry Little Lines is book two in the Siblings of Heir series by Jenna Lockwood. A standalone filled with spice and angst, this dual POV delivers a sizzling HEA.

Max max max… 🥵 There’s nothing better than a hot man who’s great with kids, am I right?! This was a great follow up to Jenna’s first novel. When I read “Never Till Now” I knew that Max had something special to show us, and he didn’t disappoint!

Enemies-to-lovers is top tier but something about friends-to-lovers can be so satisfying! Kelsie and Max are such close childhood friends, ones that they would do anything for and it was warming my heart!

Kelsie is strong. She’s such a strong woman, someone I admire so much, and reading her journey of finding something that’s worth fighting for and opening her family up to was my favourite thing!

Max is boyfriend goals. PERIOD! A man stepping up to help, especially where kids are involved is possibly an aphrodisiac 😂 matched with his dirty talk and we’re all done for!

I’m excited for more from this series and to see what Emmett had in store for us!

I’m now going to go try some champagne with frozen strawberries 🍓 🥂 #iykyk

Synopsis: Following her painful divorce, Kelsie struggles to balance work, taking care of herself, and being a newly single mom. Luckily, she has her childhood best friend Max to lean on. Now that Kelsie is single, things feel different, but I s it worth risking their friendship over?

Review: This was the book I didn’t know I needed! I’m gonna be honest, I was a little nervous going in as some of the tropes in this book are ones I typically avoid, but Lockwood has totally sold me on them! This book is friends to lovers without the annoying pining, it’s growing family without the awkward cringe, it’s brother’s best friend without the over-protection. She has absolutely nailed it!

Kelsie and Max are incredible protagonists with complex backstories and motivations, and a TON of growth throughout the novel. I’m a sucker for any step-up dad character, and Max is the best there is (like, sorry to my husband, but my standards raised ten fold), and Kelsie is such a caring and patient mom. They are an incredible team.

Overall, I think this is a great read and would absolutely recommend it if you’re looking for a new romance read!

/an advanced reader copy of this book was gifted to me in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you, Jenna Lockwood, for valuing my review/

I absolutely loved this book! I love Max and Kelsie. Who didn’t love a best friends to lovers story?? I just love them together. Been friends since they were young
Kids. Stories like this I just adore!!

I feel for Kelsie. You can truly relate to her. Being a mom of two kids. Seeing her struggle with her insecurities and afraid of being too close to someone. Fear of losing a friendship.

Max is just a major hottie!! You feel for him too with his passed and worried that stuff like they will happen in his future too.

I just couldn’t get enough of these two. Their chemistry is freaking amazing. They are just perfect for nine another. Both have their own fears and security and needing to learn to open up and trust another.

I also absolutely love Mallory. Seeing her struggle with her own issues. I feel for her but I’m so happy she has a great family that loves her. I also that she just tells like it is and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. I hope to see her story in the future!

First, let me start by saying nothing I write will do Blurry Little Lines any justice. So take what I say, add a little more oomph and you successfully have how good this book is.

Lockwood starts the book with such a difficult scene. It had me stomping around, wanting to jump in the book to punch Benson because anyone who’s read this knows he deserves a good punch to the gut. And while she doesn’t graze over the hard stuff, she doesn’t make you wallow in it for chapters on end; nor does she brush over it so you barely get a feel for the situation. And I appreciate that so much. She found a happy-medium with difficult topics, scenes, lives and made them palatable.

It’s hard to find books that have it all. The perfectly imperfect characters, the banter, the just right flow, and the voice that entices you to keep reading. This one somehow pieced together like puzzle pieces being fit together to create something real and magical.

From beginning to end, this book will have you feeling like you’re wrapped in a warm hug while simultaneously swooning over Max Dawson…for at least the next week.
All this to say, read the book. Swoon. Feel those feelings. And in the end, it’ll be worth it.

The MMC hooks up and gets a blow job from OW 63% into the book. I don't care that they weren't together at the time. I don't care that he stopped it. I don't want to read a descriptive scene of another woman blowing him that far into a romance book.

Blurry Little Lines is a story about Kelsie and their best friend Max. Kelsie is a single mom who is exhausted from working full-time and taking care of her kids. Even though she has the money to hire anyone to help her, she is hands-on with everything. While Max who emphasizes that he doesn’t want to have his own family to avoid heartbreaks and disappointments (based on his experience), gives a hand to Kelsie with the kids. Everyone seems to notice their chemistry and that they work perfectly together around the kids. Both Max and Kelsie don’t want to acknowledge it to preserve their friendship.
Like the first book, it brings out all emotions in me. It made me giggle and cover my mouth a lot (thanks to Mallory). Made me frustrated with Kelsie’s drama (understandable due to her past relationship). And made me fall in love again with my husband (his patience over me) because of Max. I was surprised (like the other characters in the story) by the unexpected turn of events where the seriousness of the story started.
I love how the author turns a simple romantic tale to have a deeper and more meaningful story. The challenges that Kelsie and Max faces does happen in real life. Their trauma due to their past relationship affects their views on their future relationship. But both of their past molded them to become the better version of themselves.
This book shows different types of parenting, both the good ones and the bad ones, and the challenges, and trauma that come with it. It made me appreciate more what I have right now.
Highly recommending this book. You’ll be overblown by its spiciness as a bonus 😉.

Although you can read this independently, it would be nice to read Never Till Now to connect some of the scenes where Adam and Lauren are.

I love the feeling of finishing a book and wishing you could start again an experience it for the first time all over again. I knew I would love this book due to meeting Max and Kelsie in book one. Gahhh… these two were just so loveable! Not to mention Kelsie’s daughter Malory and all her sassiness. She was so funny!
Surprise pregnancy is my top favourite trope and this book just made me realise exactly why I love it so much. It was written so beautifully and I couldn’t put the book down. The spice was spicing and the angst and heat between these two was sizzling. I enjoyed the tension so much and then trying to fight their attraction. Max was a total god to Kelsie, he did not waver in his support for her and her children and it was really heart warming to read. He never gave up on her even when he was struggling himself. Kelsie was such a strong women and Mum. She juggled being a single parent and working plus two kids and a horrible ex husband. She was written authentically including her struggles and my heart was aching for her to heal and accept the beautiful life Max was offering. These two were clearly made for each other and I loved that they found their way to be each others forever. The surprise baby bought these two together and made them both realise they can’t live without the other.

The siblings of heir book two. I was lucky enough to get to read this very early and I was completely obsessed. Jenna is so good at bringing you into her characters world and emotions, you really end up feeling their happiness and heartache right along with them.

We got a small glimpse of Max and Kelsies chemistry in the first book was so good could not wait to dive into this. I don’t think I could have loved them more. Their love for each other has grown from childhood into something more and was so obvious to everyone else and experiencing them both come to terms with it was so fun.

I knew we hated Kelsies ex but boy of boy I hated that man. He has used Kelsey and the Wheaton name to get what he wanted and now he’s cut and run leaving behind every responsibility he had. The heartache and guilt she felt for her kids after he left and for the dream of a perfect family felt so real.

I’m obsessed with Mallory, I just know her story is going to be amazing and I can not wait to read it.

If you haven’t read Never Till Now- Book one, you can jump right into this one but you won’t want to miss out on Adam and Lauren.

This series just keeps getting better!! This is The Siblings of Heir book two. Max and Kelsie's story takes the cake. I loved how we also see the growth of Lauren and Adam in the background. Even with the mental battle Kelsie has as a single mother in the book I find her as such a strong woman. Max...well Max is just a dream. Every part of this book makes you feel their emotions and the turmoil they spiral down to your very core! I love how Jenna makes every one of her characters so relatable.

Can we talk about Mallory!! That kid is a whole mood and I am here for all of it! I loved how all of the characters throughout the story hold strong to who they are even with the crossover from book to book. Max and Kelsie made appearances in book one and it's nice to see how their characters really blossomed into their own story! I'd love to give spoilers but this book is a 5 star and I highly recommend you read both Never Til Now and Blurry Little Lines. I am so ready for the next book!

✨ ARC REVIEW ✨

Blurry Little Lines by Jenna Lockwood (Siblings of Heir, 2)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

HOTNESS ALERT. This one is spicy, you guys! Also, Kelsie and Max are hot, too! These two are childhood best friends. Kelsie’s marriage has dissolved (and her ex-husband is a real piece of work — as a child of divorced parents, I really hated this guy!) and Max is there to support his bestie in any way she needs. But the boundaries get harder to keep as the story moves along and the chemistry takes over.

You’ll love Blurry Little Lines if you like:
• Childhood best friends to lovers
• Single moms who are also career driven
• Dom/sub, toy play, food play
• Billionaire romance
• The most incredible banter

This is an interconnected standalone but I highly recommend checking out both books in this series!

Thank you @jennalockwood.author for giving me the opportunity to review your work! And great job / congrats!!! Proud of you!

I love Jenna and the amazing characters she brings to life. This book make me cry three percent into it, and then made me laugh, then she added in a bunch of sexual tension and spicey scenes for us, then she made me mad, then I laughed some more, and then happy cried at the end. I went through the cycle of emotions with this book.
Kelsie and Max are going to be a favorite couple of mine this year. I can see it happening. Max and his boyish smirk and fun banter while having the dominating side to him is just *chef's kiss*. Kelsie has her struggles to overcome but luckily she has her best friend by her side during a hard transition in her life and her children's. Max was the constant that they all needed without knowing they needed it. He was a patient man with them all. He was delicate and kind with them. Kelsie is a strong female character who gets stuck in her head, like most of us and is very relatable. The sexual tension these two have is off the charts and boy when finally give in, do they give him. They go at it and it is fantastic. The children, Mallory in particular is so sassy and adorable and feisty that you cannot help but love her. This love story made me swoon and I love it.

Kelsie and Max have been best friends since they were young. He has always been a constant for her.

This book was something else in the best way. I freakin love Mallory and how sassy she is, she made me laugh so much. (Mallory is Kelsie’s daughter)

Kelsie is such a fears momma bear and is always trying to do what is best for her children. I also love that Office Kelsie!

Max is so swoon worthy! He stepped up and helps Kelsie with her kids after her divorce.

The chemistry is off the charts between them!! All I have to say is that now when I look at strawberries or champagne I will think of this book 🥵.

Everyone needs a Max 😊.
I loved this friends to lovers story. How Kelsey gets through the divorce and eventually comes out so much stronger and stands up to her ex.
I still can’t understand why a father doesn’t what his children anymore, but that’s his loss. Luckily they had Max.

It was a great story, though I was confused that Kelsey did get pregnant…. why didn’t they talked to each other, other than assume that Max had a vasectomy and Kelsey took the pill and if you don’t talk about it a least use a condom.

But hey, I loved this book and Max and Kelsey are right for each other from the start.

Max and Kelsie, are just precious. I loved this story so much, Kelsie is a single mom and her ex is the worst and Max is perfect. He’s super sweet and amazing with her kids and her family.
But, he also has this secret dominant side that I was 100000% there for!

Kelsie is a strong, working mom just trying to balance everything and you just want to give her a hug. I loved the banter again in this book, it’s just really fun throughout.

I’m loving this series and can’t wait to read the third one!

Oh, how I love a childhood friends to lovers story!!

Max has been by Kelsie’s side. From when they were children stuck in an elevator all the way until she’s a single mother needing help with her own children. He’s been by her side this whole time.

He’s also her brother’s best friend. And she’s gone through a lot and she shut her own self off from relationships. Until one night. One night when lust, strawberries, and champagne come together.

God, I loved this book! Based on the epilogue from Never Till Now, I guessed that Kelsie would end up pregnant at some point during this book. What I DIDN’T guess, was that it would happen before her and Max were committed already 🤯

I LIVED for every bit of tension in this book. I was so angry with Kelsie at times that it pushed me to finished the book way faster than I thought I would. I just couldn’t wait for her and Max to finally get together 🥰 and the tension just made the spice that much more stunning 🥵

I cannot wait until this book is out and gets all of the love it deserves!

**an advanced reader copy of this book was gifted to me in exchange for my honest opinion. THANK YOU JENNA!!**

This book is everything I love in a story! Jenna made me hate a character within the first page of the first chapter and be on Team Kelsie from the jump. I was already Team Kelsie from Never Till Now and the little bit we got to know her from that book, so read that too!

Kelsie was such a relatable character as a working mother and trying to do it all. She has advantages of support and money, but obviously money doesn't buy happiness. The friendship backstory for Adam and Kelsie made me cheer and yell at them, to the chagrin of my husband, to give in to all those feels! And there were SO MANY FEELS!!

Usually children in a story are like you know they're there but they don't really serve a purpose, but our Mallory is a stellar side character. She's sassy as all get out and provides some of the most heartfelt moments that had me reaching for the kleenex. She also had me laughing out loud and thanking God that I have boys; not that boys can't be dramatic, but DAMN! lol With the time jump of the epilogue I hope we get to see a grown up version of Mallory taking on the world! *hint hint*

I can't see this book slipping from my top 3 of 2023 and it's only January 19!

Ms. Lockwood, you did it again. i went into this book with high expectations, as this was one of my most anticipated reads this year -- and you delivered. you succeed my expectations beyond belief and i am SO HAPPY to have received an arc copy of this book. you truly are one of my favorite authors. okay but enough of the sappy stuff, onto the review

let's discuss the plot first, which was great. there were a lot of twists and turns when it came to the overall storyline; which allowed it to never really get boring or stale. i found myself on the edge of my seat many times throughout reading, and i couldn't put the book down. another thing that i enjoyed about this book was the lack of time jump from the first book to this one. sometimes i feel like authors make too big of a time jump from one book to the next when it comes to series. however, this book was perfect, not making the gap too big. i enjoyed the hints of Adam and Lauren's relationship in this book; allowing for the reader to still follow their storyline. i also enjoyed the set up for Emmett's book that was created a little towards the end of this one. im looking forward to his book! now, discussing the tropes, they were good. brother's best friend? one of my favorites -- always adds for lots of drama. i like how once Max and Kelsie finally got together, Adam wasn't too upset. he was a little mad, given the bro code that him and Max shared; but overall was happy for them. I feel like he had a pretty realistic view on the situation, which was appreciated. next, the single mother trope? yeah, im in love. i have never read a book where the single mother trope was a main one (or any trope), so this was definitely a new side of books for me. but i have to say, i enjoyed it. i'll get into Kelsie as a mother in a minute, but i really enjoyed reading about her hustle for the kids. you can tell she loved them with her WHOLE HEART. now, lastly, the unexpected pregnancy trope. anyone who knows me knows that i hate this trope, i absolutely despise it. i've actually dnfed books over that trope being in it. but i can say that i enjoyed it. i truly, full and full, enjoyed that trope in the book. Ms. Lockwood, you have successfully become the first (and probably only) author to have convinced me to read a book with this trope. i think what i liked the most was the fact that it was introduced half way thru the book, and didn't consume the whole storyline. there was still lots drama and things going on for the pregnancy to not be the main focus on the book. i appreciated that A LOT, and think that was a main reason why i enjoyed the book so much.

now, my favorite part of reviews: time to dissect the characters! first up: Kelsie. i like her, a lot. i thought she was such an empowering, badass, tough individual -- not to mention a kickass mother. i love how she hustled for her kids, always trying to show them her unconditional love and support. but along with this, she also continued to work and keep up her image in the business world. i'll be honest, if i ever have kids, i want to be a mother like Kelsie. she NEVER gave up for those kids. now, i will say that at times i kinda wanted to hit her for the way she wouldn't give Max a chance to prove himself. but then again, i get it. i think she represents a lot of us in the sense of being guarded and having trust issues against relationships. i also really like the fact that she overthinks things. i know that sounds weird but it gives the book a more "real life" aspect to it. i think many people can relate to the idea of overthinking things and getting stuck in our heads. which kinda leads me into the next character -- Max. hi there, Mr. Dawson? marry me PLEASE. i just think that Max is so swoon worthy and just perfect in every way. i love how he was never afraid to show Kelsie how he felt about her, and really tried to live up to his promises. yes, he had a playboy past but he definitely cleaned up his act for Kelsie, and i think that is SO SWEET. i also like how compassionate and caring he was with the kids, yet he was firm when he needed to be. he really stepped into the father role for the kids, and that truly melted my heart. i think he was the perfect addition to the family, especially for the kids. another thing i really like about Max was his determination, he NEVER gave up. even when Kelsie became so detached from the relationship and the pregnancy, he never once left her. he just continued to be there for her and continued to fight for her. THAT shows a true man. i also think it's super sweet how he always tried to pull Kelsie outta her head when she was overthinking a little too much; or proved her insecurities wrong. oh, and he can call me baby girl any day ;) ANYWAYS, let's discuss the kids! Mallory is such a character, and i found myself actually laughing out loud many times over her. i thought she was super funny, but mature. i definitely think that she may need therapy from what her father put her through (because who wouldn't?) but she is so sweet. and in the epilogue, i like how we get to see the grown up side of her. honestly, if Mallory were real, i'd be like besties with that kid. also, we NEED a Mallory and Jullien book. cmon, PLEASE!!! academic rivals to lovers? forced proximity? it's the perfect set up. please, i beg of you :') as for James, we don't really see him too much since he's still young. not much to say about him, honestly. then we have Adam and Lauren, i still love them. i was happy they were still such active parts of this book, and we really got to see their relationship prosper and grow. and they got engaged?!? im so happy for them!! i hope we get to see their wedding in Emmett's book ;) which leads me to Emmett, man i love him. i don't know why but im so drawn to Emmett in like, every way, and i'm so excited to read him. everyday i get a taste of him, i'm swooning already

now, this next paragraph is going to contain spoilers. if you don't want the book to be spoiled, jump to the end of the review where i give my overall thoughts. okay? okay, you've been warned. don't complain <3
let's discuss Kelsie being detached from the pregnancy, that was so REAL. i feel like a lot of Mothers go through that, especially when it's a pregnancy they 100% weren't expecting. i do think, in a sense, with was a depressive state because she wasn't ready for another baby. she was fresh out of a divorce with the man we don't speak of, pregnant with the guy who she was in love with -- but denying. i do think that, at times, Kelsie should've given in to Max because he was trying. there is only so much one person can do. but then again, i get why she was the way she was. she was scared of her heart being broken again and being let down. it was a sticky situation, for sure. but let's admit that all of Max's gestures where beyond sweet. the hot air balloon? AWH. him singing on stage? AWH (kinda cringe but still cute). him learning about every little thing about the pregnancy? AWH AWH AWH. like i said, he's swoon worthy. now, i think their daughter being born in Aspen was perfect. i think towards the whole family, Aspen has such a special place in their heart, so it was perfect

overall, this book was perfect. my expectations were blown away, and im so happy to be have read this book.

"I want you to believe how beautiful you are. I want you to wake up every morning knowing my soul belongs to you. Let me kiss every insecurity goodbye."

Max, Max, Max, Max, Max!!!! He has GOT TO BE the sweetest MMC I have read in a long time. I became quite smitten with him in book one of this series but he ended up on a whole other level in this book. For a man who is against commitment and love the love that flows out of him for Kelsie and her kids had my heart pitter pattering throughout this entire book. This is a bit more of a slow burn than book one but the tension between Max and Kelsie is the kind that will have your heart pounding and really pulling for Max and Kelsie as a couple (chapter 16).

Their road isn't easy though. Kelsie has been through a horrible marriage and is just emerging out of it now a single mother. She has her family to help her and Max is forever by her side helping her with the kids. It is a given that the best friend line gets blurred. Just as things start to resemble normal and she gets a handle on it a curve is thrown her and Max's way and when that happens....be ready to swoon over him.

So far this series has far exceeded my expectations and I really and truly enjoy Ms. Lockwood's writing.

Blech. This is what I get for choosing to read this book after only reading a snippet of it on Instagram.

The premise really interested me- I’m a sucker for a friends to lover trope, but this book started off as them being friends and then the second half felt like I was reading about 2 completely different characters.

All the build up and love I had for the characters went out the window with the accidental pregnancy. Literally one of my least favorite tropes. It was just unnecessary drama added to the story because the author wasn’t creative enough to come up with a better conflict. It was lazy and not at all worth the read. If I had known it was going to be an accidental pregnancy, I wouldn’t have read the dang book.

The only reason I got through the book was because I skimmed the last 30% of it. Don’t waste your time with this one.

I loved this book! I love friends to lovers and brothers best friend and this one didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed seeing the flashbacks of them when they were younger. I loved watching him hide his feelings from her. I loved that he was there for her and her family with no questions asked. I loved when she finally realized what everyone else had known for so long.

Blurry Little Lines is a heartfelt, emotionally charged story that centers on Kelsie and her best friend, Max—a pair who seem to be everything the other needs, yet refuse to admit it.

Kelsie is a single mom doing her best to hold everything together. Between working full-time and raising her children, she's constantly exhausted. She has the financial means to hire help, but she chooses to be fully hands-on, pouring all of herself into her family. She's strong, resilient, and fiercely devoted—but beneath that strength is a woman stretched thin and struggling to find balance.

Max, on the other hand, has always made it clear that he wants no part in starting a family of his own. His stance isn't rooted in indifference, but in fear—fear of heartbreak, disappointment, and the kind of emotional damage he’s experienced firsthand. Despite that, he’s always there for Kelsie and her kids, stepping in to help without hesitation. Their natural rhythm together doesn’t go unnoticed; everyone around them sees the undeniable chemistry and the ease with which they function as a unit. But neither of them is willing to cross that invisible line, afraid that acknowledging the truth might jeopardize the one thing they cherish most: their friendship.

Like the first book in the series, Blurry Little Lines took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. It made me laugh out loud—especially thanks to the ever-entertaining Mallory—and it also made me cover my mouth in surprise more than once. Kelsie’s drama, though sometimes frustrating, felt incredibly real and understandable, especially in light of the scars left by her past relationship. And then there’s Max… patient, thoughtful Max. His quiet strength and unwavering support made me fall in love with my own husband all over again, appreciating the small ways he shows up for me every day.

What truly caught me off guard was the unexpected emotional shift in the story—a turn of events that added a whole new layer of depth and seriousness. Just like the characters, I didn’t see it coming, and it made the journey all the more powerful.

What I love most about this book is the way the author transforms a seemingly simple romantic storyline into something richer and more meaningful. The challenges Max and Kelsie face aren’t just plot devices—they reflect real-life struggles. Their pasts don’t just haunt them; they shape them, ultimately pushing them to grow into stronger, more self-aware versions of themselves.

The story also thoughtfully explores different parenting styles—the good, the bad, and the in-between—and the lasting emotional imprints those experiences can leave. It gave me a deeper appreciation for my own family and reminded me how precious and complex those relationships really are.

In the end, Blurry Little Lines is more than a friends-to-lovers romance. It’s a story about healing, trust, and the blurred lines between friendship and love—and how sometimes, the person who’s been by your side all along is exactly the person you’ve been searching for.

🌃ARC Review🌃
Blurry Little Lines by @jennalockwood.author
. . . . . .
I knew Blurry Little Lines was going to be fantastic from the dedication page.
The intro was quick, and the divorce was worked through quickly, leaving almost the entire space of BLL for Max and Kelsie to connect on a deeper level.
Kelsie is in an awful position when the father of her children jumps ship and basically abandons the family unit. Her best friend Max (also brothers best friend) steps up to help out in alleviating some stress of being a single parent and routine.
I loved the slow burn but obvious feelings towards one another by Kelsie and Max, and the fact that many of their entourage were able to pick up on this dynamic in their relationship.
“We can’t-“ Her voice breaks before she takes a deep breath through her nose and stands. “I can’t handle the Blurry Little Lines with us. You’re my friend”

Kelsie is utterly shattered by the fact she does not have a white picket fence and complete family – I hurt for Kelsie when she engages in negative self-talk and is hard on herself. I would have liked to see/know a bit more background on her self-esteem/confidence/anxiousness pre-divorce, or if this comes really from the divorce with Benson.

Pre-release I don’t want to give away too much, but near the 60% mark, Jenna had me so excited! Max instantly became my favorite fictional man 🙌 and I don’t say that lightly! He was so sweet, thoughtful, and intrigued in the moment and through to the end that he really had me swooning.

Kelsie takes her time to see that she does deserve good things and is worthy of having a man care for her and allow herself to be taken care of.
“I, I can’t give my soul to you. I’m so petrified to love you as a friend, Max. I can’t have you walk out on me”

There were so many spoken moments where while reading, I told my kindle “girlll, open your eyes, be vulnerable just for a few minutes, hear him out, see where it goes”😂 and Jenna had me anxious that Kelsie would punish herself right to the last page of the book.
“If it wasn’t for you, I would have never loved myself to the depth you’ve shown me how to” ❤️

The banter was seamless through the book from Mallory (god love that girl), Lauren and her meddling 😉, and of course, our power couple ❤️

Jenna did a fantastic job in developing these characters, particularly Max & Mallory – so many elements addressed that they were able to grow and move on from, assert themselves, and heal the cracks in their hearts ❤️
“Everyone is meant to be loved. Some people have their own issues that prevent them from giving their heart to others, bur that is never your problem. Its their problem. Everyone is worthy of feeling wanted and loved, Mallory” *Max to Mallory* 🥲

Thanks to Jenna for the eARC in exchange for an honest review

ARC READ: Blurry little lines
By @jennalockwood.author

5/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4/🔥🔥🔥🔥

“The only word I want to leave your mouth is ‘Strawberry’.”
- This book was so damn good. I loved Never Till Now but I LOVED Blurry Little Lines. Max and Kelsie were completely fire. Their tension and chemistry was palpable. You could absolutely feel it coming off the pages as you read. From their first kiss to the sex scenes. I mean two words says it all. Champagne and Strawberries. 🔥🔥🔥 And it had you hooked! I just kept turning page after page. These two were best friends to lovers and it added so much more passion and heat to the story because of it! Completely recommend this series. I can’t wait for book 3!!!

*eARC for honest review- Thank you Jenna!*

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

What its about:
PT hunk, Max, helps his exhausted and recently divorced heiress, Kelsie, as she navigates her new life as a single mother with 2 young kids. Until one champagne-infused night made them rethink their friendship…

Tropes: *Friends-to-lovers *Billionaire romance *slow-burn *Dom/Sub Dynamics *Brothers Best Friend

My Thoughts
I absolutely loved Max and Kelsies chemistry. I loved the slowburn as it fits with the storyline well. I had alot of “omg! I do that too!” moments. Hilarious side characters!

📖
I had a good feeling that I shouldnt have started this book at night because from the very first chapter… all the feels came out 🥺 I guess, being a young parent didnt help but…🤷‍♀️ This was just an amazing quick read… very close to being a 5 start but I thought certain scenes towards the end dragged the story a wee bit… just a bit 🤏 but otherwise, I thought the story was amazing! Its not common that the reality of young mothers gets highlighted in a book 😍 *plus that little Friends reference was awesome!*

““No, no.” He shakes his head. “Do not Ross and Rachel us. You told me it would never happen again.” - Max

I loved the relationship dynamic of Max and Kelsie. Max seriously just set the bar so high for all men out there! The slow-burn was perfect for the situation that Kelsie was in. And the children interaction was just precious (and hilarious at some points).

Overall, this was a great read. I laughed, inner cried, got frustrated, felt bubbly and was just at awe towards the ending. 🥹

““You can’t promise forever.”
“I can when you’re all I’ve ever wanted.” “

🌶️
Oh my! 🥵 Definitely enough open door scenes and moments! The sexual tension was just off the charts… good job on them for lasting as long as they did 😅

"I can't handle the blurry little lines with us. You're my friend."

Summary: Childhood best friends, Max and Kelsie, have been very close since their scary elevator experience when they were young. Since her very contentious divorce, Max has been by Kelsie's side, helping her with the children and comforting her in those dark moments. When lines become blurred, will they both be willing to put their hearts on the line for each other?

"I'm in love with you. I never thought I could feel something so strong within my soul. You consume my thoughts, life, and heart."

My Thoughts: I loved the chemistry between Kelsie and Max in book 1, so I could not wait to read their story. This was a beautiful story of overcoming fears and crossing lines of friendship. Kelsie had so much to overcome throughout this story, showing her strength as a mother and woman. MAX... let's take a moment for one of my TOP book boyfriends. The way he showed Kelsie he loved her (even before he realized it himself) was so beautiful. He was always there when she needed him the most, even if she didn't want the help. These two have my heart... Mallory, of course, was another star in this one as well. I loved seeing more of her and watching her grow through her hurt when her dad left her. I am sooooo excited to see more of them in the last book of this series.

Blurry Little Lines is an emotional rollercoaster that kept me on the edge of my seat, forever yearning for the happiness just out of reach. Jenna skillfully weaves together the first two books in the series, offering small glimpses and references that tie them together, creating a sense of continuity and depth.

The tension. As a reader, I was constantly on the edge, feeling like the characters were finally headed toward their happily ever after—only for the rug to be pulled out from under them time and time again. It’s a delicate dance of hope and despair, where the pieces of broken hearts are stitched together, but not without struggle.

What stands out the most is Jenna's ability to craft heartache that feels almost soul-crushing. Yet, despite all the pain, there is a sense of resilience that shines through. The intricate netting of hope and healing is always there, subtle but unwavering, ready to catch the characters when they fall and help them mend once again. It’s a beautiful exploration of brokenness, healing, and the bittersweet nature of love.

Blurry Little Lines is a heart-wrenching yet beautifully crafted tale that leaves an emotional mark. Jenna’s writing draws you in, keeps you invested, and ultimately delivers a story that is both painful and uplifting. It’s a must-read for fans of the series and anyone who loves a poignant journey of love and healing.
