This was a great practical introduction to understanding the psychology of your dreams. What i like about it is that it is down-to-earth. It's not star gazing, but rather makes sense.

The foundation is that our dreams are our minds attempts at revealing and working out what we are presently dealing with. Understanding our dreams helps us get more in tune with what is going on in our heart and mind.

The dream symbolism is based on Holloways work with thousands of people and dreams. The categories make sense, though she readily admits it's not a perfect science. You need to be in tune with your own emotions and current circumstances to better understand your dreams and what they are communicating about where you're at in these circumstances.

i find it useful for better understanding my own inner conflicts that i'm sometimes tend to ignore on a conscious level and appear in real life as agitation and frustration.

Cannot give five stars to Gillian because the book's Index is so poor.
Actually, a second edition needs to be done to correct that and cover so many more topics.

For instance, when Holloway discusses body parts in dreams, she leaves out several. Was Sourcebooks too cheap to print her entire manuscript or did Holloway decide only to go over some parts to keep the book to two hundred some odd pages?

The writing and insights in this book are extremely helpful.
I just wanted the whole book. For some reason, I don't think that as what got printed.

I really liked this book because I'm fascintated with the subject of why we dream, and what meaning if any our dreams hold.
This book was excellent for providing sensible, concrete suggestions for dream interpertation, and also for dealing with a new agey subject in a really down-to-earth sort of way (ignore the cover art, it's really not as crazy as it looks). I would definitely recommend this book to anyone as a fascinating read and a handy reference.

Modern & practical book on dream interpretation that is based on real dreams. None of that archaic tribal/religious/pyschobable bullshit. While it is really useful only few of her interpretations instinctively click with me on the first few readings. Nevertheless it is a great starting point on the journey to understanding your dreams.

Dr Holloway also have kindly provided most of the book's material for free on her website: http://lifetreks.com/

the majority about the symbolism of ur dreams is really not very good at all! BUT tthis book's redeeming value is in the last quarter of the book, which is about psychic dreams and I found it VERY helpful!

This book is too good to miss. It's decoded dreams that have stumped me and given me insight into a lot of previously-obscure symbology that my subconscious has been handing me for years.

I love dream interpretation books, but some are just crap. This one was really cool. Great examples of dream themes and how they reflect what you are really thinking about.

This book on dream-work has a wealth of information and examples. I found the link from dreams to counselling helpful.
