The last free colony in the Solar System has yet to fall, but how long can it withstand the siege? Under constant barrage from orbit and kept from replenishing much-needed supplies by a planetary blockade, the colonists of Venus find themselves in desperate circumstances. But unwilling to let their stand be in vain, the surprise hero of the war—notorious ex-marine Vijaya “Sam” Narayan—must reverse their fortunes before time runs out on man’s last, best hope of resisting tyranny!
So much preperation with such slow progress. The sheer amount of text makes reading this volume even slower than the first, so I just skipped some of it. The artwork is better, at least. The worst thing about this chapter is that it's not the final one. By the looks of it, the story is abandoned. Either way, I couldn't care less what happens in the end. It was a painful grind and it feels like I wasted my time. I thought it was just the artwork that turned me off in the first volume. In truth the story isn't stellar either. Or maybe it just doesn't fit the comic genre.
The war between Venus and the Alliance rages on, albeit at a slower pace. Venus is being blockaded by the Alliance, making the people's resources and morale dwindle. Sam is tasked with leading a team to find allies.
