Shima, a high school teacher, and Hikaru, now a college student, are currently lovers in a long-distance relationship. Burdened with preparations for the upcoming school festival, Shima can spare no time for a date, until he happens to hear a rumor that Hikaru, working part-time in a cafe, is being approached by an older co-worker there! Will the thought of an unknown rival competing for Hikaru's affection stir feelings of jealousy in Shima's heart?!
I've been enjoying this series but vol. 3 felt like a retread. Both leads are still lacking confidence in themselves and their relationship. It's like the characters take a half a step forward and then 14 steps back. I would love a little growth and development.
This third volume is a lot stronger: the writing is better (the characters have a lot more to say), which also makes a plot stand out much better. The art is a bit more detailed, too - and there is some real drama brewing when heading for the fourth volume...
Their relationship has grown on me some though it is hard to accept them as a couple after how they originally hooked up. I feel like this volume is mostly a build up to what will come in the final volume lots of drama is brewing.
This was more a filler volume between two and four. It took me a couple minutes to remember what had happened in volumes one and two, but after that, it was an enjoyable read.
