It was a job she hated that drove Sharon Sala to put the first page of paper in an old typewriter, but it was the love of the craft that kept her writing. Her first efforts at writing came in 1980 when she began a book that wound up under her bed. A second book followed in 1981 and suffered a similar fate, but she claims the writing bug had bitten hard. However, she let life and the demands of a growing family delay her from continuing until a tragedy struck.
Her father died in May of 1985 after a lingering illness, and then, only two months later, her only sister died unexpectedly. She vowed then and there that she was not going to wind up on her deathbed one day with regrets for not following through on her dreams.
She joined writers' groups and attended conferences, and she slowly learned her way around the written page. By 1989, she decided she had come far enough in her writing to attempt another try at book-length fiction and began a book that would later be entitled Sara's Angel. As fate would have it, the first publisher she sent it to bought it, and she hasn't looked back.
As a farmer's daughter, and then for many years a farmer's wife, Sharon escaped the drudgeries of life through the pages of books, and now, as a writer, she finds herself often living out her dreams. Through traveling and speaking and the countless thousands of fan letters she has received, Sharon has touched many lives. One faithful reader has crowned her the "Reba of Romance," while others claim she's a magician with words.
Her stories are often dark, dealing with the realities of this world, and yet she's able to weave hope and love within the words for the readers who clamor for her latest works.

I liked the hero including the paranormal action and plot that surrounded him but the heroine was just a pity party throughout most of the book. The bad guys were unrealistic and most of the story was predictable. I skimmed a lot. After 12 years, Raine returns to her hometown with a request of her childhood love Joseph.

Another dependable read from Sala/McCall. This one had a paranormal element. The heroine's situation was kept from the reader too long. I had long guessed what was up with her. I wasn't real happy with a certain aspect of the way it turned out. It was quite angsty in parts. That was good. However, the reason that they parted when they were young was pretty flimsy. Not so good there. Still a decent read for vacation.

What a heart warming love story. It's such a shame that mankind can be given a rare gift of love from our Creator only to have it taken away by one of the seven deadly sins. Mankind just won't ever learn! I loved this story and hope this author - whom I just found - writes many more like it. This is a must read!

I guess the best way to describe Legend is that it's a paranormal, romantic suspense. This is a fast-paced read that might keep you up all night. Be sure to have a box of tissues handy when reading this.

3.5 Stars. It was a good early story. It is a quick read abound a legend and the people who nurtured it. It is also a second chance romance.

I enjoyed the book. I have always like Dinah McCall/Sharon Sala. I am rereading a lot of her older books.
The book proved to be a tearjerker, but everything turned out okay in the end.

Dinah McCall has written another winner with Legend. Raine Beaumont wasn’t happy with her life. Circumstances forced her to leave the only man she had ever loved twelve years earlier and endure the birth and death of their newborn son. Now she is on a mission to bring their baby home. The question is if this is all she wants and if life will deal her a better hand the second time around. Dinah McCall has successfully mixed Indian pseudo-legend with living, breathing, feeling and loving characters the reader is not likely to forget. The beauty of the southwest is enhanced through the eyes of love. As in life, even this paradise has an evil serpent hiding in the grass and ready to strike. This is a great yarn of youth, hope and love that all readers are sure to enjoy.

Raine Beaumont left Arizona 12 years before when her father was transferred, leaving her one true love, Joseph Colorado, behind. Now she is back.
Not one of my favored books by this author but it wasn't too bad either. This would be considered a paranormal themed story. It was written at a nice pace that I enjoy and I liked the characters. Not sure why it didn't pull me in more.

The heroine was a miserable, deceitful, and self-absorbed person. I almost DNF'd this every time she went on another "The world has wronged me!" rants. But the hero and the drama were interesting enough to keep me going. I like the touch of mysticism... not too wacky and explained sufficiently.

Such a beautiful but heartbreaking story. Sharon Sala knows how to tell a story with such clarity that you feel what the characters are feeling and cry along with them.

This book was okay, nothing special. The plot was obvious from the start, but was still enjoyable.
