Christian Contemporary Romance

Buckley, Texas Series -- Book 2

Deeply wounded by the infidelity of his late wife, widower Grant Adams has stuck to his vow to avoid all women. But when bright, bubbly antiques dealer Dawn Carson enters his life, he is unexpectedly touched by her gentle spirit.

Dawn is deeply attracted to the brooding cowboy, but she has made a vow of her own—not to marry a man who does not share her faith. Even as Grant begins to grow spiritually, they both must learn lessons in trust, patience, and forgiveness as he confronts his deepest fear.

Dawn has finally met the love of her life, but can he let go of the past? Can they find a love that endures?

aka Sharon Harlow

Bestselling author Sharon Gillenwater writes stories about love—between a man and a woman, of family and home, and the everlasting love of God and Jesus.

She grew up on a ranch in the Rolling Plains of West Texas, near the small town of Colorado City. Marriage took her across the country, but Texas is still dear to her heart. All of her Christian contemporary romances and most of her Christian historical romances are set in small West Texas towns filled with rugged, yet tenderhearted cowboys and strong, yet compassionate women.

While on a trip to England and Scotland years ago, the history and people captured her imagination. After returning home, she discovered Regency romances and another favorite time period and setting. She currently has two Christian Regency historical romances available, along with three sweet historical Regency romances.

She and her husband live in a quiet, rural area of Washington state with a wonderful view of the mountains. A friend once commented, “It’s like a writer’s retreat.” Sharon agrees and is busy dreaming up stories about Texas cowboys or English and Scottish heroes and the women who win their hearts.

Since I really love antiques this is a very fun book ... the romance is good, though some over reacting to situations, but altogether an enjoyable book.

I often feel as though Gillenwater's romances are a little two dimensional, but this book had layers I wasn't expecting. The struggles were both realistic and human. I really enjoyed the ride. And learning more about cutting.

Texas Treasure (book2)

Another great story. What is so wonderful about this series, they are all based of learning to trust and love God. Each person in this story was significant in finding and trusting the Lord. You will enjoy this.

grant them love

I am loving this series! Grant had a lot to learn in this book. The one who herded cattle might have learn Who herds the sheep. And Dawn learned that value lies in more than antiques. Excellent story!

A good story

A story of a guy hurt by life & his wife who chose other men while he was doing rodeo.
The story illustrates forgiveness several times.

Texas Treasure

This book is such a good story that tells of the pain and effect of past hurt and also how to overcome. I loved the handsome cowboy too.

I have been impressed with the author's knowledge of ranching life. Seems to truly know the ways of the life.

Although it's a very simple romance (is romance ever simple?) it was a very enjoyable read for me, and I've actually read it a second time.

This was a third re-read ... for some reason I just enjoy this simple romance. Perhaps it was especially meaningful to me as my own home is now filled with some lovely antiques, and the house, itself, being 140 years old, qualifies as an antique!

It's a Pallisades romance, which is basically the Christian equivalent of Mills & Boon Sweet. So it's not great literature, but it is a fun, easy read with a Christian message. Perfect for one of those days when the kids are stuck inside and you want a lighthearted escape.
