There were times this book was helpful and than there were times the book was unclear. The book has a habit that once it has mentioned something, it assumes you have memorized it and understand everything mentioned. If you are a novice, this is very confusing and you feel lost in the last three chapters. It would be nice to have little reminders along the way. If you are an experienced programmer, you will probably like this book.

If you are using this book in a class setting, the test bank of questions are awful. For example, there was a question about an element. There wasn't much detail in the question so it was hard to figure out if the question was asking about an HTML element or an array element. I ran it past someone else who is an experienced programmer and he too was confused by the question. The test bank questions are also quoted sentences with a missing word or true/false questions. If you want an easy test, get a searchable version of the book if the make one.

The index could use some love.
