Lisabet Sarai is a master (mistress?) of erotic stories. Her protagonists are always ready for an encounter, and most of the time they're open to some pain to go with their pleasure.

In this story, Rebecca is on her way to her bestie's Halloween party when she has car trouble in a small town. No one can help her tonight, so she's forced to stay at a run-down motel with dingy furnishings. The guy who checks her in takes pity on her and gives her a bottle of cheap booze. She goes to the room and decides to put on her Marie Antoinette dress anyway, then chugs some of the rot-gut, to try to cheer herself up. But when she hears a male voice telling her how good she looks, she fears the alcohol is more potent than she realized.

Is an invisible lover, whom you can feel and taste, in your imagination? Not in this motel. The erotic scenes are filled with Sarai's trademark heat and steam. A short, hot read.
