This book is a great all purpose how to for beginning artists. It has sections for drawing, watercolor painting, and oil/acrylic painting. I used this book to learn techniques for acrylic painting. Overall the text was useful and full of great illustrations and step by step projects to provide technique examples. The only confusing aspect was that oil and acrylic were combined in the same section and as a beginner, the differences were sometimes confusing.
