One of the definitive works in game theory, this volume takes an original and expert look at conflict solutions. Drawing on game theory, the calculus of variations, and control theory, the author solves an amazing array of problems relating to military situations, pursuit and evasion tactics, athletic contests, and many more. Clearly detailed examples; numerous calculations. 1965 edition.
This book is definitely not for the mathematically challenged. It requires background in statistics, calculus, differential equations and linear algebra in order to understand the concepts that are presented within this book. But aside from that minor drawback, it definitely presents the concepts of two player games of war quite well.
I would recommend this book for anyone that has at least the mathematical background that was previously stated. Such readers' will definitely find this book a most fascinating read that is hard to put down.
