Embers had such a cozy small-town vibe and a really sweet premise that immediately pulled me in. I loved the idea of Kierra running a bookshop while dreaming of her own epic romance, and both main characters were genuinely likable. There were definitely some cute moments and the storyline itself had a lot of potential.
That said, this one didn’t hit me quite the same way as the author’s previous books. I had a harder time fully connecting emotionally with the characters, and the flow felt a little distracted at times due to some editing issues throughout the story. Even so, I still enjoyed the overall concept and the charming atmosphere of the book. If you love small-town romance with bookshop vibes and a light, easy read, this one may still be worth picking up.
This was a good romance between Kierra and Nikolai. The storyline was different it did take me in a lot of different directions but eventually chose a path for Kierra, lead female. Kierra is a beautiful and smart woman who owns a bookstore. Her best friend Rebekah owns the cafe next door. Rebekah wants to get Kierra out so that she can have a little fun. Nikolai owns an automobile shop and says he does not want any complications in his life. However, once he sees the lovely Kierra out at The Brew with her BFF, Nikolai changes his tune. Nikolai turned out to be an exceptional book boyfriend. The ending of the book is abrupt and odd. However the author saves the book with the epilogue with the happy ending. Read On!
After reading, "In the End", i wasn't sure how this book would go, but I'm so glad I picked it up! They have their struggles, but they end up with their HEA... Even if the book is set to sike you out throughout.
