There are some very compelling ideas in here, many of which seem like they are ahead of their time. It’s remarkable to see a book from the 1950s contain almost everything that is in the most current books of the genre. It’s fairly short and well-written which is also a plus.

I think the single most important concept was this one:

How to increase your awareness of yourself and the world around you: “Relaxed awareness”

Hilarious. Picked this up because it sounded funny and I thought I’d leave it in the bathroom for guests.

The ideas aren’t fleshed out and there are way too many references to the bible. Many values are antiquated, “And a wife certainly earns her share of the income by her care of the children and by providing loving encouragement for her husband.” (pg. 88)

Complete nonsense. Just the ticket for a no. 2!

A rather interesting book. The framework is similar to Dale Carnegie’s books, in that there are summarizing paragraphs in the table of contents underneath the chapter names and a summary of the chapter at the end. The book has some interesting self-help advice underneath the parapsychology offerings.

Average. There is a lot of filler content here, nbut the core messages are good and helpful. Motivating.
