Rate this book
This manual is based on a seminar that took place in San Francisco, California on Jury Selection. In order to conduct effective voir dire, you must enjoy the process of jury selection. Yet it is hard to look forward to jury selection without having confidence that you have an approach and tools that will work. This manual will provide you with knowledge of the rules and logic of voir dire so that you will feel ready to select a jury. You will actually look forward to it. This manual will provide you first with the rules of voir dire in California, followed by a logical approach to jury selection. (Although this manual is based on California law, the rest of the information can be used by anyone). Once you have the rules and the logic of voir dire, you will be given techniques for obtaining information from the panel of jurors and specific questions to use during voir dire. It also covers the proper use of juror questionnaires. If you are a lawyer with few jury trials, you will learn the basic tools for jury selection. If you are a veteran trial lawyer, you will gain further insight into more sophisticated ways to approach jurors and more effective use of juror questionnaires. You will look forward to voir dire, so you will do a better job.
