“PINOCCHIO’S NOSE GROWS”: Is a picture book written by Barbara Gaines Winkelman. This is a book for children ages 4-6, and also is at step number 2 in Step into Reading leveled reader. Pinocchio is a story that everyone knows but no one can remember the content, it is about the wood boy who was turned into a real human by helping from God’s Mother. He has a great life with this boss who loves him a lot. Then he meets some new friends, leaves school and becomes a bad person. Then he realizes that everything is a lie, his friends actually cheat on him, the fairy appears and helps, then Pinocchio realizes that every time he lies, his nose grows longer and longer
I rated this story 3 stars because now I knew the true story behind when people say "If you lie then the nose will be as long as Pinocchio’s nose." From reading the book I could feel that the author uses nice and warm colors which make me feels the book as a fairytale for the reader. With the lesson that children realize after reading the story, it teaches them to never lie to their parents, and knowing that dishonest is a bad behavior.
