“Rainey is an erotic storytelling virtuoso!” — Romantic Times Magazine
Anne Rainey creates steamy romance stories with just the right amount of heat. Her books frequent best seller and top pick review lists. Anne is an accomplished author of over thirty titles. Her books can be found in Target stores and other popular online retailers. Canada’s largest newspaper, The Toronto Star, recommends Anne’s books as an alternative read to Fifty Shades of Grey. Anne actively markets her work and sells an average of 133,000+ print and digital copies per year.
Anne grew up in a small town in central Ohio the only girl with three rowdy, older brothers. When she wasn’t playing tackle football with them she could be found tucked away in her mother’s book room getting lost in mysterious worlds created by authors such as Martha Grimes and Andrew M. Greeley. She’s had a variety of odd jobs including Chiropractic Assistant, Frame Stylist, Restaurant Hostess, and Nail Technician. Anne now lives with her fabulous husband, two gorgeous teenage daughters, two ornery dogs and three snooty cats.
Ummmmm...total hotness! This was a sexy little 3 novella book (which read like one continuous story) about three best girlfriends and the friendly wager they make to spice up their hum-drum lives. Each of the women has a particular sexual fantasy and the bet is on to see which woman fulfills her fantasy first. I was a little concerned when I started reading because there is a bit of a BDSM theme about this book, and I was wondering just how far Anne Rainey was going to go. Luckily (for me) since I'm not much for BDSM books, especially when there's pain or humiliation involved, this book turned out to be "BDSM-lite"--a few light swats/spanking on the rear, the use of a blindfold, some handcuffs, a bit of domination and submission ("Put your hands above your head, sub"), some female domination and male submission (nothing too kinky), and the wearing of some snaps-in-the-crotch leather pants... but no whipping, no pain, no humiliation, and no sex toys. Everything was consensual and "I'll stop when you want me to or if you don't like it" which gave it a more romantic feeling if that makes sense.
In Secret Desires, Lydia's an overworked, underappreciated paralegal whose sexy, demanding boss (Dane) and his two handsome partners (Mac and Trent) keep her way too busy. Lydia's secret fantasy is to have "no strings, no names" sex with a stranger. Best friend Roni takes repressed former Catholic school girl Lydia waaay out of her comfort zone to one of her favorite hangouts, a BDSM club called "Kinks". Certainly Lydia can find an anonymous stranger there who would be willing to fulfill her fantasy, right? But what happens when the three leather-hood-wearing owners of the club approach her with their own fantasy? Will Lydia take the "there's-something- familiar-about-them" owners up on their proposition?
This was one red-hot menage story...whew! The hero is a Dom, looking for a sub, and Lydia certainly fills the bill. I can't say too much more without giving away some spoilers but let's just say that Lydia won't go unappreciated at work anymore!
In Turn Me On, psychologist Roni desires a real man. She's fed up with men who are just out to impress her or are after her money. She'd like to try out a blue collar man for once and see if her love life improves. When Roni has trouble with a computer that keeps freezing up on her, she calls a computer specialist to fix it. When over 6 feet of muscular hotness (Jake) shows up at her door, wearing a T-shirt reading J.C.'s Computer Repair. We'll Have Your Hard Drive Purring In No Time Roni wonders if this hunk would be willing to fulfill her fantasy.
Equally hot. Confident career-woman Roni likes to think of herself as a dominitrix (that's why she hangs out at Kinks) but Jake teaches her a thing or two about liking submission and surrendering control. This one had a bit of a backstory for Jake (he was a widower) and a conflict near the end of the story that hurt Jake's feelings, so it wasn't all fun and games. But I liked it. I thought Roni and Jake both were what each other needed.
And finally Tasty Treats. Jeanette is a shy coffee shop owner with a curvaceous figure and and bit of a hang-up about her backside. For the past six months she's been lusting after a sexy, dark, motorcycle riding guy who comes in for coffee every day, but she can't get up the nerve to speak to him. After telling her girlfriends about her fantasy of having her way with her biker man, she knows it's now or never if she wants to win the bet. But who could predict that biker man (Hunter) has also been lusting after Jeanette and her curvy posterior for the past 6 months? Now he's going to make his move on the shy beauty...
This one might have been my favorite, even though we don't learn too much backstory about our biker man. But he was just aggressive enough to push all of Jeanette's buttons and liberate her sexy side without scaring her off. He did sort of have an obsession with Jeanette's butt that I found both laughable yet endearing. And what he did with Jeanette's double chocolate brownies...whew!
So, if you're looking for some light, fast paced erotic reading, with some very likable characters, and you have the ability to suspend disbelief (because c'mon, these relationships move verry fast) I think you'll enjoy this one. Anne Rainey sprinkles in some very sexy dialogue that will get your motor running, and you'll be hot to find out if all three girlfriends find the men of their dreams. One of the better erotic anthologies I've read in a while--4 1/2 stars.
Decent stories but I wanted a little more development with the storyline. They all thought they were in love after one night of raunchy love making which is hard to believe. Also, the second story had a female dominatrix which is just not my cuppa even though she let the hero lead sometimes. So overall - decent but the stories needed more pages to flesh them out.
Three novellas loosely related to a bet between 3 women. They are bemoaning the state of their respective love lives and decide to challenge each other to fulfill their romantic fantasies.
The 3 novellas are:
⭐⭐ Secret Desires (107 pages) - a somewhat mousy legal secretary gets taken to Kinks, a local BDSM club that is very vanilla. The club just so happens to be owned by 3 guys under assumed names / wearing disguises who just so happen to be the legal partners she works for. Menage ensues.
⭐⭐ Turn Me On (100 pages) - a psychologist with computer trouble meets a hunky computer tech and lots of steaminess ensues. This is the friend that took the legal secretary to the club (because she's a dominatrix, albeit one who appears to like guys who take-charge...um, so not really).
⭐⭐ Tasty Treats (81 pages) - the final friend, owner of a bakery / coffee shop, has drooled over the hunky Motorcycle Man who's been coming into the shop for *6* months. She hasn't so much as flirted with him, but he decides that now's the time to make his move (how slow can you go) and they end up making more than brownies together. This one was probably my favorite and I would have rated it higher but the nicknames (baby, sweetness...I was waiting for sugar puss, alas he missed that one) flow out of him like he can't remember her name. Sort of disappointing for a guy who turns out to be
Overall it was okay but I just kept thinking that it needed more fleshing out of the characters (besides their prowess in bed).
What can I say? The premise is overdone but who *really* reads books like this because of the stellar storytelling? These are short stories, so they're easygoing and comfortable and sexy. (Very hawt sex)
At the time, I couldn't get enough of this book. I couldn't put it down. I read it cover to cover in one sitting. So it *is* intriguing.
But in retrospect, I have time to reflect and rethink. I'm giving this a 3* because there's nothing really extraordinary to set this apart from other stories of its ilk. I finished reading this book a day or two ago and can't say that anything really sticks in my mind as memorable. Now, perhaps the book is not to blame, perhaps the author is not to blame. Perhaps I have read too many books. I'm willing to render that verdict.
Nonetheless, I only keep books that I'll joyfully re-read and I'll be returning this.
Great book! It's a hell of lot better than the 3 story book I read back in November! This book combined all 3 stories together in a delightful way ( which I liked & enjoyed), were as the other kept repeating details continuously which really irked me.
This book was super cute and had some steamy sex scenes. The men were all so likable and so into the women....which is always good. Definitely a great read!
I would call this book BDSM-Lite erotica. To be fair I do read a lot of BDSM style books so my ‘lite’, may not be your ‘lite’, but in this you get some swats/spanking, use of blindfolds and cuffs, some dom sub themes (with male and female being dom), but this is light and more directional, rather than ‘domination’. There is no pain, humiliation, sex toys, dubcon etc.
Three stories of three friends who want to spice up their sexy times:
Secret Desires – what do you think the kink of an overworked paralegal, with three very demanding bosses is? Well, she goes to ‘Kinks’, a club for consenting adults *wink wink*, to let her hair down and is put with three masked men who seem ‘familiar’.
Turn Me On – she’s a psychologist who is tired of men ‘trying’ to impress her and wanting her bank account, she just wants to actually be impressed. Enter a guy who wouldn’t normally turn her eye and can show her a few things, particularly that you think you like one thing, but maybe it’s something else altogether.
Tasty Treats – she’s a business owner with body issues. She lusts after a mystery motorcycle man and thinks he would never be interested in her. She’s wrong.
These novellas are quick and erotic. The ‘relationships’ move fast because of the situations (although arguably working for people day-in-day-out, and lusting/pining after someone for 6 months before you do something isn’t really fast in my opinion) so some of you may feel like you have to suspend belief and some of you may feel like there is not enough depth or backstory, but come on people, these are essentially erotic novellas aimed at getting your motor running, sometimes a story doesn’t need to be more than that.
This is a collection of spicy stories. They are a good length enough to get a feel for the characters but they do not drag on. They are spicy and they are fun to read. My favorite was Midnight Snack. This is a wonderful collection. Great characters.

I give 4.5 stars. Needed a little bit of proofreading. Three best friends make a bet to fulfill one fantasy each and the losers have consequences.
Legal Briefs: Paralegal Lydia has had a thing for one of her bosses for a while. Her friend Roni takes her to a naughty club that happens to be owned by all three of her bosses who anonymously give her a night to remember. It kind of grated on me that she was essentially making herself into her mother who was not a real mother. I would think a friend like Roni would have fought against that happening a lot more so it didn’t make sense to me—because she had the friends she did.
Doctor’s Orders: Roni’s computer issues are finally fixed by Jake, but other problems are caused by their instant chemistry. Roni’s fears and hesitation throws a big wrench in their situation. Jake’s pain caused by her is compounded by his past loss. I like his family.
Midnight Snack: Cafe owner Jeannette has wanted her Mr. Motorcycle Man customer since the first time he walked in. She is too shy and uncomfortable with herself to make a move, even with the bet, but Hunter decides he is done watching her and makes his move. They are sweet and hot.

I loved this collection of three friends make a bet to live out their secret fantasies. The men in each story were OTT alphas, loving, caring, and patient. The character made the stories feel so real that you could feel each emotion. Each story was steamy and spicy. Highly recommend.

This was my first read from this author. I really enjoyed the story, however the reason I gave it four stars is because it was written in the third person point of view. Sorry but this is a deal breaker for me. I will be reading more from this author in the future, though.

The title corresponds well to these hot romances It is a good set of stories of three friends who after having set a goal achieve their fantasy. Each story is scorching, tender in its own way, with a hint of BDSM (a little more pushed for the history of Lydia) I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This book contains not one but three steamy stories. I can't say which of the three is my favorite. They all consisted of a great storyline and wonderful characters.

Amazing collection of three sweet and spicy romance novellas. The book centers around three frustrated friends and a bet for each to fulfill a fantasy. The men are over the top caring, patient and all in on a relationship. I loved the characters in each of the stories as the three find what they didn't realize they were searching for in partners. My favorite was Motorcycle Man as Jeanette was so socially awkward and Hunter was able to see beneath the exterior.
This seductive novel will have you entranced. Three interrelated stories with complex characters, each story better than the last. Three friends make a bet to improve their social lives and each get an alpha male that steals your heart. This book has been one of the best I have read this year in this genre. Excellent ❤️❤️❤️.
DNF. Absolutely deplorable. This book made 50 Shades of Grey look like a saint's work of art. This was garbage. If you want a book that has no substantive plot building and lacks decent flow, you'll love it.
I RECEIVED this book and 2 other two rad and they are very interesting 3 friends make a bet and see if and who get the wish first there is the Roni the psychologist and she is in to the dom she goes to a club and take a friend who is a stuffy type who works for 3 hunks of lawyer she has fantasy about one of her bosses .Lynda goes with Roni to the club and meet 3 guys who want to do her at one time boy was she surprised they show her how that she can have 3 guys make love to her and her hidden desires well the 3rd friend is Jeanette and she own a coffee shop and has fantasy of biker dude that come in to the coffee shop
LET me tell you a little of the 3 ladies Roni has problems with her compute and can not find out why the porn keep coming up so she call the computer guy up and he find porn and tell her to put a camera on the computer to catch the punk but what she catches is nothing to be surprise Lydia on the other hand has to work help here self to one an only one then Jeanette find someone who you would not think she like
you will in joy t he bssm and the love that involves in the 3 girls llive
This three part book is about 3 friends who make a bet to fulfill their fantasies. While the first story was good I found the next two stories were so similar in wording and descriptions and characters that it felt like I was reading the same story over and over. The men were all dominant males while the women (except for one, and even then she submitted to a man) were all submissive. And I found it annoying that two of the women who were 'voluptuous' or 'curvy' just believed themselves to be fat and unattractive. It seems all they needed was a good dominant to perk up their self-esteem.
It was okay. It wasn't one of those books that I looked forward to reading, it was more like I wanted to finish it to get to something else.
I did like this book- it is a typical light romanticata (erotic romance book-my name for erotic books) read. It is a story about three friends who all make a bet as to who can fulfill their fantasy first to win the bet. Of course all the heroes are Alpha , built, hot men that are very nice and financially independent. My kind of book. It was a nice introduction to author Anne Rainey. I look forward to reading more of her work. I am not a professional reviewer just to let you know, I'm more of a professional romance book reader who loves happy endings.
The book tries to pass as romance but is pure erotica (as in the love in it is really fake/unbelievable). It's not exactly a novel but three erotica short stories with a common thread (three friends and a bet).
As long as you know what you are reading, it fulfills its scope.
Wow. I mean...Wow! This book is a compilation of three stories with a common thread of the female leads being best friends and in the prologue they challenge each other to a bet. The individual stories are the stories as to whether or not they each succeed. Wonderful tales and "Lydia's" installment is my favorite. All are steamy with alpha males. Dessert as dinner indulgent.
All the characters are distinct and very likeable. Some of the situations are a bit improbably, but it's romantic fiction, so that's fine. I enjoyed the way the three stories flowed together but kept continuity.
