okay I read this because I adored the puppy place books growing up and my dog is named scruffy and he looks like the cover so I had to buy this. the story is simple and sweet but lacks any actual depth but I fear that is because it’s a book for seven year olds and I am twenty three. when I say I will read anything I DONT PLAY ABOUT THAT! I do love the educational dog behavior facts in the back! kids books are so special!

Lizzie and Charles are in elementary school. Their family, the Petersons, have a puppy named Buddy plus they foster dogs and help them find homes.

Charles and his friend, Sammy, are walking home and they hear whining near an abandoned house. They investigate and discover a puppy stuck in a fence. Charles' dad helps get the puppy get free and when they take her to the vet, Rachel, the technician, names her Scruffy because of her appearance. Rachel is very much into social media and creates an account for Scruffy which becomes a hit. So there's no shortage of people wanting to adopt her. Charles and Lizzie, though, have been bickering a lot lately which might jeopardize their future in fostering puppies.

Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementary-aged children, I found it entertaining. There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end. It is written in third person perspective and first person from Scruffy's point of view. It is the 67th in the Puppy Place series.

I should clarify I have nothing against this series, but this was the second series I ever read, the first from the library. I have been keeping up for the books, but whether this is goodbye or the next book, the final goodbye is coming... 🤧

I think I might be getting too old for these...
How (I'm pretty sure) My younger self would react - Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo that was SO good! I just wish Charles and Lizzie could have gotten along sooner 😢
Me: wait- It's over? *Checks time* Already? But the plot just got going...

Of course there are other examples, but goodbye is soon.

Anyways on to the review!

Charles and Lizzie are fighting, their foster puppy is in the mix, which is blowing up on social media. And that's the summary.
