No Trixikka has ever laid eyes on a female before. The first one I stumble across? She's mine.
RYNN
The Goddesses blessed me with a gift when I find a strange, wingless, tailless creature in the depths of the jungle. A female.
My female is the most beautiful thing I've ever laid eyes on. Her body is so different from mine, but this only excites me. She is my mate, and we have all the time beneath the skies for her to teach me of those differences.
SERENA
I don't believe in love. But then again, up until a week or so ago, I didn't believe in aliens either. And yet here I am having been abducted, stranded on a jungle planet, and now surrounded by a tribe of huge, protective aliens with wings and tails. At least these are the good guys.
Their leader, Rynn, is convinced I'm the reason the skin on his chest is lit up like a Christmas tree, particularly the area directly above his heart. But that's just some weird alien biochemical reaction. Just like all supposed 'love', right?
Alien Protector's Mate is the first in the Fated Mates of the Winged Barbarians Series and features a huge, winged, apex-predator hero, who is a virgin with a capital 'V' but is very eager to learn - and his little human mate who turns out to be equally eager to teach him.
ᝰ.ᐟ Summary: Serena is abducted from her house while she was sleeping and when she wakes up, she finds herself in a strange spaceship. There are other girls too along with her trapped and ready to be auctioned off. They somehow manage to escape and are stranded in a very strange planet. Rynn is the high spear of the Trixikka. Aliens with wings and a tail who have never seen a female. Serena is Rynn's mate and therefore she makes his heart stars light up and his body starts glowing.
ᝰ.ᐟ Thoughts: Now, i enjoyed this way more than i thought i would. I went into this expecting only smut but it was actually more than just smut! This actually had a plot, a mystery which will unfold in the further books about the other girls and their aliens (which i obviously will be reading). The communication barrier in the start was actually so funny. These men have never seen a female, so obviously they are all very very virgins. They know NOTHING about the female body and i was laughing my ass off sm. This was undoubtedly one of the funniest books I've ever read.
It is a secret, then, this 'pu-say'? And the eating of it is important. Perhaps it is some form of ritual from the female's homelands? A mating ritual? Yes, this must be it. I study my mate as she eats, her eyes averted and trained upon the food she so delicately picks at. Does she have some secret 'pu-say' for me to eat? I would gladly do so if she does. If it is important to her culture. If it means me proving myself worthy of being her mate, I will gladly devour all the 'pu-say' she has to offer me.But... how do I get her to offer it to me? I can't with him😭😭✋
I do not know what a 'nap' is, but my Zahreenah is offering me one, so I will take it gladly. Smitten
"Guys back home sucked," she chuckles. I am quiet for a time, not sure what she means. Is that another part of the mating ritual for her people? To suck? What must I suck? I will gladly do it, just as I would gladly eat the sacred 'pu-say' whatever that is - possibly a juicy fruit or a certain dish prepared by the female herself. Whatever it is, I will devour it. I bite my lip, thinking, wondering if I should offer to suck whatever she wants me to suck. My eyes drop to those curious curves on her chest. Are they for sucking? The thought makes my cock twitch with interest. I was wheezing 😭😭
"May I perform mouth-on-cunt-kissing now?" I'm dead. Bye.
Surely my Zahreenah will take pity on me and allow me to perform the cunt-kissing that I so crave. Sir? 😭
ᝰ.ᐟ Overall: If you're comfortable with heavy detailed smut, read this, it's hilarious. Tho it isn't insta-smut. The smut is in the later half. Also yes, his pp does glow.
"Eat, I can provide you with many foods, my Zahreenah."
I enjoyed this sci-fi debut, I'm a sucker for big, devoted sweetheart alien males and esp when they have zero experience with women. The story starts introducing Rynn (H), who's the leader of his group of alien males. The aliens on the planet are all male after their goddesses punished them for how their ancestors treated their females. Now, the aliens believe their women live in one of two temples on the planet, which the males give offerings to. Then it switches to Serena (h), who was a cam girl on Earth, who's been abducted along with a group of other women. They're subjected to an alien auction and purchased by a buggy alien to be sold as mates for other aliens. Except their purchaser lands on another planet to avoid law enforcement and then he's killed by the wildlife, which also scares the women into scattering. Serena is rescued from a creepy alien creature by a winged, tailed, giant alien male, Rynn. Rynn also has lights under his skin and his heart stones light up because Serena is his fated mate. There's a language barrier and culture clash. Most of this book is focused on the main characters getting to communication, finding and saving the other women, and bonding between the main characters. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, H is a virgin and h is not (not much given on her history, but more info was shared about her prior job as a cam girl than I particularly cared for).
Rynn was such a giant, capable sweetheart who was instantly devoted to Serena. The world was dangerous but the men were all protective, if nosy and sometimes made the women uncomfortable. It's also a primitive society. Serena and the other women were interesting and we got enough background info that Serena didn’t feel flat. I definitely liked Rynn more, although I did like that it took time for Serena to accept him as a mate, so there wasn't a rushed feeling, but some of her behaviors and thoughts weren't my favorite. A couple of times she really hurts Rynn's feelings. The alien males know zero things about women or sex, so there are the fun scenes with teaching kissing, hilarious innuendos between the women that Rynn repeated but didn't understand and had me cracking up, and Serena teaching him the birds and the bees. I'd say this is a slow burn, but there are still a few steamy scenes. His *ahem* equipment is a little unusual, but I liked the tamer fact that his tail is an expressive one that wraps around her a lot. Also, his wings were used to shelter, protect, and give them privacy, and they were described so well.
There were elements that didn’t work as well for me. There are plot lines that are clearly going to be explored throughout the series, but a major one involving the female aliens and temples really bothered me. It's a shady circumstance that the human women question amongst themselves, but nothing happens. There are also bad, creepy alien creatures on the planet too and a plot line occurs involving them that concerned me too. The editing also had some iffy spots, which can happen with a debut.
The ending is a HFN with Rynn and Serena in love and happy, with hints of set-ups for some of the other couples, and those other hanging plot lines. The world is interesting and I’ll continue the series because I'm curious about those hanging plot lines. There was one couple in particular that I'd love to read about (silent grumpy alien with sweeter human woman).
I really enjoyed this! An easy to follow plot, with lovable characters.
The narrative of only male alien society coming in contact with progressive human women created an interesting and a UNIQUELY SPICY framework, that i personally enjoyed. Also the wholesome plot that lacked the scheme that novels usually follow, in which the couple breaks up or has a huge fight toward the end was also a plus (for me).
wings, tail and glowing lights on the skin? yes please 💅🏽🤍 extra point for the hero because he's so lovely
this has the classic "our female gone because of sickness" trope but it was more realistic than the other books I've read. these guys have no idea about female body parts plus hero is not an excellent lover(bc he knows nothing about sex) so yeah it was realistic. i liked the characters well enough, i only wish there were more books because the other matches seems interesting👀
i'm curious about the temple stuff plus there were mentions of another girl's name and there are missing girls, i think author shouldn't have mention this much characters it would be better if they were introduced later(like ruby dixon's spin off series)🤷🏼♀️
I swear that in some of these alien romances, the men are waaay too good for the women. 🫠
This was fine, but only because of Rynn. I did like the obsession from the get-go and the need to protect his mate. But I can't stand Serena.
If the roles were reversed and I had to read about a man who kept bringing up his sexual experiences, I'm definitely going to lose my interest in a flash. And that's exactly the case here, but instead of the MMC, it was the FMC.
I thought the author would spare the readers these stupid and unhelpful reminders, especially when these two were about to get frisky, but nope, we have to be reminded again that she did many things with other men. 🤧
Like, girl, you're going to get railed by a 7-foot alien that worships the ground you walk on and makes you freaking horny, and yet you still find the time to think about other men and what you did with them? Come on!!!
I can't speak for other readers, but I sure as sh*t don't want to be reminded of Serena's love for being a cam girl, her manipulation of her male fans, and her extensive sexual exploration with other men. I could probably do without these things, tbh, or maybe I could understand the logic if it was mentioned only once or twice, but nope, it was repeated throughout the book. Like, Ms. Author, I got it the first time; I don't see the need for emphasis.
Reading things like this was one sure way to raise my blood pressure. But I tried, maaan did I try to endure for the sake of finishing this story, and honestly, in the end it wasn't worth it. Not the time, not the frustration, probably not even this review, but the FMC pissed me off far too much, so I'm going to rant because, after all, I spent how many hours on this book.
Anyway, my point is, I don't like playboys OR playgirls. Why can't we have a character who enjoys a healthy sex life without racking up a huge number of different partners? Again, this is a personal take; to each their own. If you're fine with that kind of MC, then you do you, but it's not for me.
Book info: - Alien x Human - Captivity (in the beginning, diff char) - Fated Mates - Instant attraction - No cheating, OM/OW separation - V MMC, Experienced FMC - HFN (living blissfully)

This book had some serious instalove going on, which wasn’t unexpected given the synopsis. Serena was a confident cam girl trying to figure out how to thrive on an alien planet post abduction. Rynn was also confident, but also carried a lot of shame and religious trauma that made him more susceptible to any manipulation tactics Serena used. He was very forgiving and trusting. Don’t get me wrong; Serena’s manipulation was born out of a survival and protective instinct in a dire situation, but wasn’t my fave moment. The “teach me” theme of the book was fun, although occasionally over the top. Like, are we saying that there are no gay aliens that got it on with each other and could figure out some stuff? That was a lil unbelievable. I really liked how pragmatic Serena was—immediately understanding that going back to earth wasn’t an option. It brought some more believability to the story.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: abduction, trafficking, captivity, physical assault, animal attack, violence, gore, mention of cheating (not MCs), mentions of child abandonment, sex work, possible pregnancy of side character, mention of ancestral domestic violence
Ughhhhh I found another one goddddd!!! This is literally giving same vibes as ice planet barbarians and I love it!!! Absolutely ate this book up and I will b reading the next ones!!! Love how these aliens r sparkly tho I love anything sparkly lolllll. If u like ipb u will like this!!! Such good world building and I’m so intrigued to see where we go from here!!!!
I honestly don’t understand how this author hasn’t been sued by the author of ice planet barbarians yet. It feels like an exact replica or at least a fanfic; this planet is just a hot jungle planet instead of the ice planet but the concept is totally the same - including extra girls in pods to light up your ✨heart crystals✨
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💜🩷💙💚 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: ☹️😄😍😋 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Serena - she is a cam-girl who was suddenly abducted in the middle of the night by aliens. She hadn’t believed in aliens till it happened. She was mistreated by the large grey aliens that took her and other girls. They woke up and were herded roughly to an arena with the use of some sort of cattle prod like weapon. She and a bunch of other human women are auctioned off and sold in a group to an insect-like alien.
The Hero:Rynn - He is the protector chief of a large tribe of Trixikka warriors. Their tribe often make ‘seed’ offerings in life-stones to the temple goddesses who keep their females safe inside. They do whatever they can to protect the temple and keep their females and daughters safe. They hope time and time again to be received by the goddesses, and to hear that that they have fathered sons with their seed offerings. Though they mostly hear that they have fathered further daughter whom they will never see.
The Story: Serena and the other women get put onto a spaceship and they see that a bunch of other women are aboard, sleeping in pods. Metal collars are put on them, and they are held in place in their seats just watching the women in the pods. They try to plan an escape. Suddenly the ship has to set down on a nearby planet for an unscheduled stop when their captor tells them that the space police are in the area. and he needs to lay low. When they exit the ship on the hot jungle planet, the alien is eaten by some local fauna. Serena runs as far and as fast as she can, and by the time she stops, she has lost the other women and is being stalked by an alien chimp-like creature. She is saved by Rynn who has never seen a female in his entire life.
I have to admit, I wasn’t so fond of Rynn and his warriors at first. I mean the way they take for granted that the females and girl children are kept within the temple walls, and they never see them and never really get any proof that they are even as protected as they think. Frankly I thought they should storm the walls and verify the Gods were real and protect their own women in their village. The story is that they are being punished for the way their ancestors’ treated women, so they just take it. One other thing I didn’t like was the fact that they didn’t have translators implanted while they were on the alien spaceship.
I liked the fact that Rynn immediately thinks that Serena was given to him by the gods, and she is his mate. The storyline was good, though I wasn’t too fond of the fact that the warriors had never seen females before. I am not a big fan of the virgin Hero trope and in this case, Serena had to teach Rynn everything about intimate relations. I like the dominant Hero that is able to please a woman without instruction. Though Rynn did catch on pretty quickly. I also liked the storyline about finding the rest of the human females in the jungle and the fact that Rynn’s tribe had to work with another tribe to find more females.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Reagan West and Gabriel De Leon. Gabriel has a deep, smooth voice that works well for Rynn. It is sexy and expressive. Reagan West has a soft, pleasing voice and she speaks very naturally. She throws herself passionately into the role of Serena. I quite enjoyed both of them.
2.75 This wasn't bad, but it was one of those reads that made me crave other similar books that I liked a little better.
I didn't love the whole "let's find birth control" aspect to the story . It's not like I was hoping he'd knock her up, but to make it a plot point diminished the primitive aspect of the book, lessening my enjoyment of this type of story.
Mmmmmmmm I guess I'll be pretty generous in this one considering this is my first ever alien romance (¿)
I just think that there are potential and plot points that I wish to be delved more, I guess it'll be given more attention in the 2nd book
For fun aspects, I find some parts in this story to be hilarious and, at the same time, just cringy, especially the parts where Rynn and Serena's smutty talk.
Overall, I think this is decent. I'll probably read the 2nd one.
I had to think hard about this review. I wasn't sure exactly how I felt at first. I enjoyed it for the most part but two things really bugged me...
1. The MFC has some personal history that makes her reluctant to have a serious relationship. That's fine and she is able to overcome and grow. BUT the MMC never knows about it. He just says the right and correct things at the right moment that puts her mind at rest. Again that's fine. But in hindsight, he never really learns about HER what makes her tick. What kind of life she had before landing on his planet. That makes me feel like the relationship was a very shallow one. He fits her needs and she fits his end of story. 2. I'm going to try and be vague to not spoil it. But one of the other females had a secret. She's scared to tell it to the men for fear they will treat her or the secret differently. This seems like a very unreasonable fear. Nothing about these men could possibly make anyone feel fear. They are so reverent and worshipful of the woman. If one of them asked these dudes to open their hand so they could poop in them they would think it a great honor and fight for the opportunity to be chosen. 🙄 I just started book two and this character continues to annoy me. I may DNF it already.
Rynn is what I want in a SFR: he's strong, capable, and an absolute cinnamon roll to his Serena. All the Fated Mate tropes are there, and the spice was spicy and perfect for them. I can't wait to see what we get from the author in future books.
Melissa Emerald, take all my stars! She’s climbing up my favorite authors list fast, and with this book, I’m officially hooked. We’ve got a language barrier trope (my fave!), plus a winged golden retriever-type male who’s all charm and innocence in the best alpha package ever. Seriously, who doesn’t love a guy with wings? Instant fave.
The world-building here is rich and detailed, with imagery that pulls you right in. There’s this cool blend of tech and primitive vibes, non-Earth flora and fauna, and vast cultural differences that feel both fresh and fully realized. Melissa creates a perfect clash of cultures, humor, and heart-pounding danger that keeps the drama just right without tipping into soap-opera territory.
I was totally submerged in this adventure from start to finish. If you’re ready for a journey filled with innocence, strength, and a seriously sexy but soft alpha, grab this one and settle in for an epic ride!
I listened to this as an audiobook and it was seriously a challenge for me. The woman narrator had a large range but she relied heavily on a whiny voice, and holy shit it was so annoying. It is one of the most obnoxious voices I have ever, ever heard. It legitimately made me angry at times, I turned off the audiobook on several occasions. I am not really sure why I stuck it out?? It was awful.
Book was fine I guess. Honestly nothing special. Very one dimensional characters. MMC is a hot alien and that's it. The FMC at times was so stupid I sorta hoped she would just fall in a river and that's the end of the book. She felt flip-flopy and inconsistent. She wanted to lick him LESS THAN AN HOUR AFTER MEETING HIM (but is supposed to be traumatized by her abduction from other aliens. dumb.) but then we have to wait till 80% for things to happen between them. Pacing was all over the place. Idk, a weak 3 stars for me
This books starts with the FMC being abducted by aliens. They stop on a planet and the abducted humans end up getting away but now they’re stuck on this unknown planet.
The beginning of the book was like reading the first IPB book (although the alien descriptions are much different) except the humans were auctioned off.
I enjoyed the characters although I felt like the fmc should let the aliens know the ‘temple’ clearly was a spaceship instead of a temple.
The FMC gets to teach the MMC how to please her and the run scene was SO hot (he tackles her).
If you enjoy alien romance, like Ice Planet Barbarians and are looking for an easy alien read I definitely recommend.
Pudo ser más picante pero me trajo buenos recuerdos de cuando andaba leyendo a los IPB 💙 gosh y es que estos aliens están hermosos con sus brillitos en todos lados, tal cual bola de disco 🪩 además de que ¿vuelan? That’s it.
I really enjoyed this book! It was entertaining and fast-paced. The insta-love was a bit weird, but I liked the world-building and the main characters. I feel like there were too many characters mentioned, especially since this is only book one in the series. I wished there had been more of a gradual introduction, like in Ice Planet Barbarians.
This book has all the stuff you'll love because you already read it in another book. I thought I'd picked up Ella Maven's first drixonian book and not in a good way. That abduction scene. And then the language stuff with the woman was so close to Ursa Dax's Tyrant book. Some things were too close pulsing skin stars instead of sight stars. I don't know. This author can write okay but lots of stuff is too close to popular books.
