Frida Kahlo was so unique, as a person and as an artist. She suffered so much pain from very early age, she was on physical pain most of her life and got her heart broken by her husband, etc. Her way to deal with what she was going through was painting and that’s why her paintings are so raw. Even with everything she went through, she never stop making the best of her life. Another story of inspirational women.

This is an excellent comprehensive narrative on the life of Frida Kahlo. Though it's short and a quick read (I took a little longer taking notes for class), this book would be perfect to read over a few sittings. It's well written and does a great job covering the material, and her life. While also adding some important insights into the personal life of the artist.

V njem strne in podčrta bistvo Fride.
Priporočam.

This is about as good as it gets.

I first read this book in 3rd grade. How old are you in 3rd grade? I can't remember. Then I read it a few times after that, finally reading it for the last time in middle school.

That being said, maybe it's not as good as I remember it. All I know is, reading it as a kid, it definitely shaped me into who I am today.

Knowing the story behind the artist, you can have a much better appreciation and understanding behind her work. You understand how much she suffered, both physically and emotionally, and how her art helped her cope with everything in her life. She went through so much, but left behind a unique form of art that revealed much of this fiery and spirited young woman, who left the world too soon.
