Olivia Jarrod was newly placed in witness protection when she discovered she was pregnant, with the baby she had yearned for throughout her 10 year marriage, a baby her husband - Ford Jensen, never desired. Despite their rocky marriage and separation, Olivia still loves Ford deeply, but she left him tired of coming second to his work and his need to make oodles of money. Ford, didn't realise how badly he had let Olivia down until she left him, and despite US marshals and the FBI telling him to leave things a lobe, he is determined to find and protect her. The problem is those hunting Olivia in order to keep her silent aren't too far behind, and soon Ford and Olivia find themselves trying to out run the killers on their trail.

There was some good tension in this, but I wanted some more emotional intensity. Overall, a nice and light one time read, but felt the ending needed some fleshing out.

99p on Amazon 26th December 2019.

Such an enjoyable, crazy tale! I'd definitely recommend this series...hold on a few minutes while I rush back to read the other books. I did read this first, and the tale really held together just fine. Of course I was wanting the two to have their happily ever anyway, but these two really won me over pretty quickly. Even under pressure there are moments of humor, such as when Olivia—who'd dreamed of children for years, yet had respected her now-estranged husband's decision not to have any—tells Ford off for calling the baby "it," saying he can pick "he" or "she" to say, but "it" was not allowed: a moment that showed her spunk as well as her love for her child.

This is another book in Protecting the Witness series which is an excellent series. This is different because it has the same ongoing story line. What's different is Olivia is pregnant and separated from her husband. She is also in the Witness Protection program but is now on the run because she keeps getting found. The FBI and US Marshalls are trying to get her back but there is leak that's telling were they are.

Good exciting read.

Favor of God and renewal beginning

This book was very good. It showed how even in witness protection danger is there BUT when you trust in God as the head of your protection you will win. Renewing in a new beginning a life Liv and Ford thought they had lost was a great ending with the bad guys losing. Only thing I didn't like was the bad guy escaping and being on the loose again

Olivia is suppose to be safe in witness protection until she testifies at trial. How do they keep finding her? Could there be a leak in the Marshall or FBI office? Even her ex-husband found her. People are dropping all around Olivia and she isn't feeling too safe. Another good one by Shirlee McCoy.

I would have liked this story more if it was full novel length. There was a lot of action, and that didn't leave much time for character development. Also, the characters were way too predictable--to the point I skipped over most of their dialogue because I just wanted to get to the end and see how they worked everything out.

I really enjoyed this clean, Love-Inspired, romantic suspense. I bought this at our local Goodwill store and I voluntarily chose to review this story. I've given it a 5* rating. This pulled me in fast and had me hanging on. I stayed up late to finish the last few chapters. This has a cliff hanger at the end but it is in a series. But the couple in this story has a happy ending.

Operation Black Veil: The woman in the black veil has told FBI Special Agent Jackson McGraw that Salvatore Martino, former don of the Martino Crime family, is seriously ill. It has been confirmed that his son wants to kill Eloise Hill, the girl who put his father behind bars, before he dies as a tribute to him. He also wants to kill Olivia Jensen, the witness to him murdering someone & due to testify against him in the upcoming trial.

The night Olivia Jensen witnessed a murder; she was put into the Witness Protection Program. That means no contact with family or friends, not even her estranged husband, whom Olivia is still in love with, & has since discovered she is expecting their child.

Ford Jensen is desperately searching for his wife. The FBI & US Marshals won't tell him anything. But he needs to find Olivia. He needs to apologise for neglecting her, & ask for a second chance, because he is still in love with her. He finds her just in time, because the mob isn't far behind & their mission is to eliminate Olivia. Now on the run, Ford is determined to love, protect & be there for Olivia...& try to keep one step ahead of the mob close on their trail until the trial.

I loved this continuation in the "Protecting the Witnesses" Series - this book is #4. You really do need to read these books in order as each book, while a story on it's own, also has a plot which runs & develops through all the 6 books, building up to the grand finale in book 6. This means that you will not only want to read this book, but also the other 5 in the series! So if you are looking for a one off story to read, then this is not the book for you. However, if you are short of reading material & want a series to get you going, then this series will be ideal!

Other books in the series:
#1 Twin Targets (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #180)
#2 Killer Headline (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #184)
#3 Cowboy Protector (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #188)
#5 Fatal Secrets (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #196) (Protecting the Witnesses Bk 5)
#6 Risky Reunion (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #200)(Protecting the Witnesses Bk 6)

Protecting the Wittnesses
Book 4

In this book, we meet Olivia Jarrod. She's been mentioned in previous books as being a witness set to testify against the main mafia man after witnessing him kill someone. But Olivia's story goes so much deeper than that. She and her husband had marriage problems. He was married more to his work than to her and she finally left him because of it. But after he begged her to take him back, she did for one night and their night of passion resulted in a conception of a baby. Later that night, she witnessed the murder.

She readily agreed to go into the Witness Protection Program without her husband - mainly because after making love, he went straight to business and she decided to file for divorce after all. But Ford loved her, and after the enemy hurt him and left him for dead, he went looking for her. Nothing else was important but finding and protecting the woman he loved!

I wanted to give this book five stars because this was one of those books you just wanted to read in one setting, but I just could not do it. Olivia got on my nerves. Ford had professed that he loves her. I'd say he's proved h is love by searching for four months for her. Furthermore, he has proven it by not giving attention to his job at all this entire time. But all she can say is "I want a divorce." There were times I wanted to choke her. I really, really liked Ford. It's understandable how a man can get so involved in his work that he neglects his family. But Ford has figured that out. The fact Olivia kept calling her baby "My baby" instead of "our baby" also ticked me off...

Needless to say, I really, really liked Ford and loved watching him come to terms with the fact he was going to be a father. The entire book took place in like two days - but I'd say two days of intense bonding like they had to do was plenty for them to realize they needed each other!

Sometimes a second reading gives you a clearer look at a book than the first time around. Why? Perhaps with first readings, especially in a six book series like this one, the reader is rushing through just to get to the end, or at least to the next book, and you miss some of the quieter, subtler, or more in-depth details. The first time I read this book, I gave it a poor rating because I felt that the main male character, Ford, was a real idiot. But as I read it a second time, years later, at a slower pace, I find that I was wrong. Ford was badly treated as a child. He was the legacy of multiple generations of men who let their families down. As a result he had no confidence in himself, and tried to over compensate. It wasn't until he started listening to, and believing in, the legacy of his Heavenly Father that he was able to let go and really allow himself to love, that he had any chance of being a good husband to Olivia, and a good father to his own child. I really enjoyed this second time around with this fast paced, and loving adventure Shirlee McCoy added to this series.

This has been an exciting series to read. It opened my world to see what some people risk by doing the right thing and reporting a crime even though they know the result could be losing their life, physically or by being pulled away from all they know for their own protection.

Olivia Jensen found out she was pregnant after being put into the program.
She had been separated from her husband of 10 years for the past year. He had come to her four months ago but when she thought he would change from his ways of putting work first, she found she was wrong.

Ford Jensen almost lost his life and it showed him that he had lost the most important thing to him, Olivia. He spent the past months searching for her. When he finds her, so does her enemies.

They are on the run most of this book. I enjoy Shirlee McCoy's writing skills and the way she gives equal viewpoint between both of the main characters.

I loved this book. I loved how Ford didn't give up searching for his wife Olivia. Once he found her he wasn't going to let anyone including the FBI stop him from protecting her.

Olivia sees Vincent Martino, murder his rival. She agrees to testify against him. She goes into the witness protection program. It takes her husband months to find her. Afterwards every house they were taken too, was found by the people that wanted Olivia dead. Ford and Olivia had to run to stay alive. They were running from the FBI, the US. Marshalls, and the very people that never wanted Olivia to live long enough to make it to trail.

Olivia, and Ford had been separated, pending divorce. This is a emotional, second chance romance. They are trying to sort out how they really feel for one another, but at the same time they are fighting to live. The action, and suspense was excellent. I loved this book, and will add it to my favorite's list.

This was a nice easy read, with a premiss it hard to believe - it is somewhat easy to find someone in the witness protection program.

End of the series, I think. I found it thin as to plot and --- just didn't care much about it.

So exhausting! The stress from running and then running some more. I can't imagine all that running from the mob...

This book was just OK to me. It was a OK plot line and I just couldn't seem to really get involved with the characters.
