I am not an “art yarn” person per se however I thought the book would have a nice list of art yarns I could try. Even though the author made a good point of needing to know basic spinning skills and that art yarn is not just mucky beginners yarn that you label as art because you haven’t mastered any techniques yet. I felt over all the book lack imagination, it seemed like as skilled as the yarn was, the yarns were all just common variations of basic yarn with random crap stuck in them. Maybe I just don’t have an eye for this kind of contemporary yarns.

This was probably very good when it was published, but more in depth books on art yarn have been published since. Since I already have copies of both Spin Art by Jacey Boggs and Spinner's Book of Yarn Designs by Sarah Anderson, this was much too basic for me.

Lots of pretty pictures, not much useful information on how to create fancy yarns. Reading it was a waste of my time.
