Calvin Miller recounts the events, choices, and little miracles that have made his marriage grow strong. This story celebrates the beauty of growing into a mature love that is for better, for worse, and for always.
Calvin Miller has written over 40 books of popular theology and inspiration. A former pastor, he is professor of preaching and pastoral ministry at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama. He and his wife, Joyce, have two grown children.
Dr. Miller wrote this book as a gift to his wife on their 30th wedding anniversary. It is a lovely journey through the years - first chapter a tribute to his mother - and then the marriage journey...realistic and one of my favorites by this most beloved author.
When my wife and I got married, back in 1986, the couple that we went through premarital counseling with gave us the challenge to read one book on marriage a year. This autobiography of Calvin Miller's marriage was the one I read in 2011. That same year I got the chance to meet Mr Miller. I appreciated the honesty coming from this pastor/ministry leader. I also grew to appreciate the covenant of marriage as presented through the imagery of his relationship with his wife. Calvin Miller passed away August of 2012, and the Christian community lost a wise thinker. Here is a comment on his passing from someone who knew him well: http://www.christianitytoday.com/edst...
