I decided to read this book when a very good friend of mine said he could lend me this book. He first started to describe me a bit of it's "components", the slang speaking griffon, the use of nordic gods and the fact that the story began in Portugal (i'm Portuguese by the way), at first i thought it would be a rather interesting book to be read, but what happened next can only be described, using some internet slang, as "epic disillusion".
The whole story was like a child's dream clichéd to the very marrow of it. The main character, named John (and me thinking the guy was portuguese),is pictured as the Knight in shinning armor (literally) that is loved by everyone wherever he goes with his female companion (can't really remember her name) that just happens to be a diurnal vampire, and they stumble upon each other by pure coincidence....
I actually believe the whole story was based on coincidence...... But the truth is: "all that glitters is not gold" and not being gold it still glitters, this book has many comic situations that are able to pull one or too good laughs from you,and that's pretty much the glittering....
Zuzarte, i'm sure, had good intentions on editing this book but the fact is... he was too much unexperienced when he wrote the book, he was 15/16 if my memory serves, even though he had some good elements to make an acceptable book, however, he was hasty and the end result was, putting it bluntly, a downright disaster....
