"What was life without some risk..."

Kala works security on a space station, but that doesn't mean she doesn't crave a little fun.

Captain Jack is a pirate who plays by the rules he can respect, and is pretty sure he can talk his way around the rest.

This done in one quick read establishes the Universe in which I expect more stories will take place, based on this being a book 1. We get a feel for some of the larger conflicts and powers, some of the species... and just enough about the rules of life out here on the frontier to want to revisit this wild west style space station and see what fun these characters get up to.

Great novelette.
Security is a great introduction to the Spaceport series. The reader is introduced to the commander of security for the Spaceport, Kala, a battle-bot cyborg. No longer needed in a battle scenario she has settled into a security position. Along with Kala, you'll meet space pirate, Captain Jack. Their brief dalliance has consequences with all the feels. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

My first Shelby Morgen book and first read in the Spaceport series, a Changeling Press series about a seedy spaceport - think Deep Space Nine with lots of sex going on. My interest is peaked and I will press further on...
