Golden Angel is a USA Today best-selling author of heart and bottom warming romance.
She is happily married, old enough to know better but still too young to care, and a big fan of happily-ever-afters, strong heroes and heroines, and sizzling chemistry.
When not in front of her computer writing, she can be found sewing her next project, hanging out with friends, or wandering the grounds of the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
I loved how this series is about established couples who aren't under 30. Yeah, that works to describe them better than "older couples" which would make me feel old. lol
Gavin and Leah are pretty sweet together. I like how Gavin realizes he has to work on his issues, then move forward with attempting another reconciliation. It's a welcome change for a story line. It's nice to have a therapy involved and actually be more than a pat answer. The tie-in with Marquis was fun and helps the feeling of continuity.
I listened to the Audible narration. The narrator did a lovely job.
Book 2: Thoroughly enjoyed book 2 of this series. Again, nice to not be reading about teeny boppers.
Jax and Esther were such sweet characters. Love the names! Jax made me want to smack him a few times. Esther's insecurities just made me want to hug her. Loved how the kids were involved in an age-appropriate way rather than just mentioned and forgotten. They didn't feel like props which is actually made the story feel believable for me.
I listened the Audible version and the narrator did a fabulous job, again.
Book 3: Fabulous Conclusion!
Love stories with Dommes! It was fun seeing Cyana and Aiden finally get together after their sniping at one another in the first two books. Admittedly I wanted to bop Aiden on the head a few times, but he finally got out of his own way.
I listed to the audible version and the narration was on point throughout!
Overall performance: Dean Cray cannot do a Scottish accent to save his life so the first book was a bit rocky. The other two he does a great on though. He does the female voices throughout the series as well so if that is something that you don’t like you have been warned
Overall story: This is a great series that focuses on love later in life. It also includes a made up table top RPG called Castles and Creatures which is part of each story
Dungeon Master Gavin wants to win back his ex-wife Leah. She isn’t so sure initially but warms up to his antics. There are BDSM elements throughout and steamy scenes that are very satisfying. They get their HEA at the end.
Dungeon Daddy Jax and Esther wouldn’t have any issues if they just talked to each other. The conflict starts with a misunderstanding over a C&C game Jax is DM-ing and snowballs from there. This is a DD/lg story and does involve punishments. The rocking horse scene does not disappoint
Dungeon Showdown Aiden and Cyana’s story was my favorite. Dommes rarely get to be main characters and Cyana doesn’t disappoint. Once Aiden gets over himself it is all spicy times and steam.
I was captivated by these 3 wonderful stories of mature couples finding their way back to each other. The author, Golden Angel, is one of my favorite storytellers. The audible version is delicious. Kudos for her choice of narrators.
Each of these three books are wonderful. They can be read as standalones but I really encourage you to read them all and with this boxset, you can do just that! Love the fact that the characters in each story are older and more mature! Highly recommend this set!
