This was a MAJOR step up for this series! From the quality of the prose to the depth of the characters to the twists and turns in what was an interesting but fairly straightforward plot (at least for the first ~2 books or so). Menou’s character is flayed open and her feelings laid bare (finally) but she’s not the only one - Akari, too, gets dissected and even Momo shows a bit more, not to mention Manon. I was a little disappointed with how Ashuna was handled in this one, but I assume book six will bring answers on that front.

The last chapter and epilogue alone had me immediately looking up when I could get my hands on book 6. The wait is on. And also I’m hoping for more Executioner content in the form of another anime season (fingers crossed)

Now that we've gotten through the set-up plots, we start to get into the meat of things... and it's fantastic.
Once again jam-packed with action, loveable new characters, complex old characters, and Menoaka scraps for the starving. (plz why are they still best friends tho fr) The story has a remarkably fast pace which works for it; it gets through what could be tiresome and tedious plot points in a flash. Um. It's very fast. But it works! This one is full of some insane twists and turns, breaking all the expectations for its genre in the most amazing way possible. Indescribably excited to start the next one.

Uuuuu cada vez los misterios se van aclarando.

Quien es Marfil? Si sabemos que traicionó a los demás, pero si todos planeaban volver, porque no lo hizo junto a los 4 mayores desastres? Porque es más fuerte que los demás?
Que pasara cuando se reúna con Akari y la compare con Menou? Si recupera sus recuerdos, será capaz de abandonar a Menou por Marfil?

Y. . hasta aquí llegó el papel de Manon xD

Sometimes the series is confusing, but I love all the characters and the relationships. Awesome cliffhanger ending that makes me eager for book 6.
