All Cassidy Jones can remember about last night's bachelor party is jumping out of one of those silly cardboard cakes wearing a ridiculous costume, all in the name of paying the rent. But then everything went fuzzy! And she has no idea how she ended up in bed snuggled next to the unhappy groom with the gorgeous blue eyes and the amazing body - or how to explain the situation to the uptight bride-to-be standing at the foot of the bed...
Blake Lawrence knows this was all his brother's doing - the cake, the girl, and the spiked punch. With his meddling, Blake would have been himself - cool, collected, controlled, and on his way to the altar with his social-climbing fiancee. But now, Blake doesn't know what to think, because the gorgeous red-head lying next to him is making him feel things he's long since forgotten, things like joy, laughter, and overwhelming desire...
Karen Kelley always had a secret desire to live the life of a Gypsy. So she and her husband quit their jobs, sold their house, decluttered their lives and moved into their 5th wheel RV. Now they're traveling the United States. She works full time on her writing and spends her downtime walking on the beach or hiking in the mountains. Her motto has always been 'Who says you can't have it all.'
I wasn’t expecting to laugh as much as I did but the disdain between these two lead to some hilarious fights and I loved it all!
It wasn’t love at first sight or even like but as their time together grew you could see their relationship growing and that’s what I truly loved! I still wish I had more info on The Who’s, why’s and how’s of the characters because we are only given some facts but overall it was an enjoyable read
So the Hero's brother drugs him and get a stripper drunk and throws them in bed together naked. They really got over that quickly. Then the Hero decides to marry the heroine so the baby will be legitimate, but they plan on divorcing as soon as the baby's born. Like, their looking for separate houses while she's pregnant. The Hero's ex fiance held on to her jealousy for a long time considering she was aware and marriage between her and the Hero would have been more like a business arrangement. Lastly I honestly don't but the Hero and heroine being in love with each other. I didn't feel like there was a moment where they connected like that.
The book skips over important parts…Blake was set to marry until his brother set up a bedroom scene with Cassidy. They wake up after a passionate night to have his fiancé appear. Move forward Blake convinces fiancé to marry him after explaining the “set up” until Cassidy appears pregnant! There was no conversation with fiancé - it’s like he didn’t break up with her and the author failed to deliver that part of the story.
The client he wanted that was charmed by Cassidy playing the piano - not discussed.
The book was jumbled, a train wreck of 2 adults refusing to tell the other their feelings. Lucky for me book was .99 but feel it was wasted money
I loved this story. It was so cute!!!! It was sweet, sexy, funny, romantic and engrossing!!!! Loved the characters.... Loved the storyline..... Loved the twists and turns!!! Loved how nice and likeable the characters were with each other. I absolutely just really like the way Karen Kelley writes.... Her descriptions, etc. I came across one of her books just yesterday and this is my third one to read this weekend I enjoy her books so much!!!!! Highly recommend it if you want a story that will make you smile and feel so good at the ending!!!
I figured this was an old category romance - I'm not sure if this was updated or not. :X Leaning towards ... not ... really?
Cassidy and Blake are ... I'm not even quite sure how old Cassidy is. 20 or 21? Barely? :X >.> Though I'm not quite sure how old Blake is either? But he's written as rather older/you'd think he's in his 30s. :| [Which ... ok I can't think about that cuz ew.]
I think the brother's name is Andy - and it's bad I'm not certain because I just read this book this morning. Oops.
Anyway - Cassidy and Blake just WOULD NOT TALK TO EACH OTHER and kept assuming the worst of each other/worst of what each person said - which is so par for the course for "old school" [90s-00s? romances) - so bless Andy dumping them at the cabin in the middle of nowhere, other than you know, the whole Cassidy going into labor.
Her murdering all the plants was very 🙄 although her feeling so badly and Andy helping to rescue her, and Blake NOT yelling at her was nice.
Cassidy's friend Shelly kinda felt unnecessary, TBH and Penelope was mustache twirlingly comically evil.
I kept meaning to read this because the premise though, so I'm glad I finally did that.
This is the first book by Karen Kelley that I have read and I loved it. The author shows her talent in writing a story that balances humor with attraction and love. I loved the well developed characters of Cassidy and Blake, also Andy’s antics added to the story line and I look forward to reading his story. All told this was a great story and I could not put it down (reading to well after midnight). Hoping we get to see Cassidy and Blake again as I loved the part about them three years later. I have added Karen Kelley to my favorites so I can watch for more great books to read.
I bought this after reading other comments and voluntarily leaving a honest review.
5 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Bachelor Party (Bachelor Series Book 1) by Karen Kelley and this review was given freely. This is a well written romance that balances self doubt, attraction, love, and humor in a fast paced novel. Cassidy and Blake's story of falling in love after "the morning after" and brother Andy's antics through out the story made this book a delight to read.
A bachelor party, a young lady in a cake, tea that's not really tea and an interfering younger brother. The wedding is called off when the bride catches the groom in bed with the young lady from the cake. Two months later the young lady is pregnant and the former groom is determined they get married. Is there a possibility it could be a real marriage? Funny and rooting for this couple to have it all.
I didn’t expect this book to be any good. Maybe the cover font (yuk)! But it was pleasantly good. It’s a closed door bedroom book. Very light on the spice! But YOU HAVE TO BE OKAY WITH A DRUNK WOMAN BEING PUT INTO BED WITH A DRUGGED STRANGE MAN! There was definitely NO CONSENT!
Way too fast paced. The romance was not fleshed out at all, and there wasn't any relationship building. We don't see any of the male characters personality. The POV constantly switches mid-paragraph and makes it confusing to read
Fun read. Predictable. And.....unbelievable. What man marries someone-a stranger on their word that they are pregnant and it is theirs. Especially an extremely rich man at that. But the book was entertaining. What do I have to complain about.
A very entertaining contemporary romance, and just the first book of a most promising new series! I really enjoyed Cassidy and Blake's love story and I am looking forward to Andrew's story that is the next one coming out. Nice!
The only thing that bothered me is when she wanted to pay for everything.... And I used to drink 2 wine bottles and just get tipsy. This book was great I thought it was hilarious...
This book will have you laughing out loud! It's truly hilarious!! I love all the different one liners that make this book so much fun to read! Ms Kelley you did a great job with this book!
Did I like the book a little would I recommend the book no. The book has a little bit sense of humor I don’t like the main female character that was too much chaos with female character.
This book was how I expected when I read the blurb. So it was about a girl popping out of cake for a bachelor party and ended up being pregnant. Short and a plot that I could seem to encounter many time, actually similar story. But I really enjoyed this book, it was fun and quite surprising. It was light and quick to read, the author went straight to the point with hilarious scenes. So all that were just great, a touch of humor, a touch of fate, a touch of brother and a touch of love.
