Nic Rocca and Duke Ducati are best friends and about as close to being brothers as any two men can be, MOONLIGHT MENAGE starts off with them in a bit of a predicament and it only looks more dire as the scene moves ahead.

Brain and brawn were on their side however and they all made it out of the situation alive even if not all in tact and this is where MOONLIGHT MENAGE begins it’s tale.

Nic is seriously hurt and Duke is worried and hovering like a dark angel by his bed side, but Duke is not the only one worried – so is Tira Belludi, their mate.

Tira is the woman meant to be with these two but through a quirk of faith and an unparallel gift she is unable to touch one without seeing his demise and the other she will not accept without the other joining them. As if that was not enough drama in Tira's life she has troubles on the home front as well and not being the most confident of person she is caught between wanting to do the right thing and being with the men she love.

Nic is fed up of the status quo, they have done the same thing for the past eight years – he loves Tira, Duke loves Tira and it about time he take matters into his own hands and do something about it even if Duke is not agreeing with him.

Doing what he does best, plotting – he forces them all in a confined space and as expected, something had to give, but it might not be what neither of them expected.

While the three are trying to get their groove on – someone still has their sights set on this little magical setup and Nic and Duke are right in the cross hairs – can or will Tira step up to the destiny that has always been hers to take or will she over think things as she is prone to do?

Highlights

The world that Ms. Julian created in not done yet – as far as I can tell – but it is a world filled with not only supernatural but elementals as well and as such I was quite impress that it was not the run of the mill magic on display – she made it her town, her creation and as such she made the magic specific to them. NICE…

When I read the first book in the series I mentioned that details of the cast and the “race” was very thin on the ground – I really like how much more of the history and the people themselves have been developed in this book.

I quite liked the fact that Ms. Julian introduced me to Nic and Duke first in this book – albeit under duress but it showed me how close the boys were and how much they were willing to sacrifice for each other.

Old faces were most certainly a pleasure to catch up with – Cat of course is at her usual “little womanly self” and she was lovely to see again.

Loads of smut, and they were not shy about it. There are m/f and m/f/m scenes in this book.

I really like the chatter in this book – especially between Nic and Duke – they knew each other so well that without saying anything they were saying so much more than words could tell… Loved that..

A little bit more is now seen even if not known about the person trying to destroy the Etruscan….

Once again the author shared what I am hoping are the first taste of angst between the two protag of the next book… Very involved but I am liking it already….

The cover is a definite plus compared to the cover on the first book… I like this cover alot.

Lowlights

I said in my review of Kiss of Moonlight the first book in the series that it could do with a glossary and I say that again for the second book. New words were being introduced ever so often and it did make a dramatic impact on my ultimate enjoyment of the book….

There was a carousel of cast being introduced that became a little bit of a challenge to keep up with after a while, as they each bring there own drama to the table.

Along with the carousel of cast, there was also a few storyline that became too involved and I felt a few were unnecessary after a while, however, it’s only the second book, so lets see where I will need this info in future books.

After the pace of the first book – I was a little let down by how this one moved – Alot of that had to do with the people and storyline that I had to get through, as well the new words that kept popping up.

I didn’t like Tira at all – she never stepped up to the plate as a viable heroine for me. Nic and Duke I thought were much more likable characters and it felt like they were changing their life to fit Tira into it.

Bottom line

MOONLIGHT MENAGE
was not the thriller of a read for me compared to the first book – but there was enough positive to this book to make me like the world that Ms. Julian has introduced me to. The trio of Nic, Duke and Tira will have their work cut out for them both in the bedroom and outside of it – they however have the smut down to a fine art so half the battle is already won.

The book ends on a cliff hanger of sorts and with alot still yet left to be known and to rectify, I would say this book has to be read to move on through the series… .

I was asked to review this book by the author ~ all thoughts expressed here are my own.

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said....

Tira has the gift to see the future, it is a gift that is passed down in her family. Tira's "visions" come from skin on skin contact and it is nothing she can control (at the moment). So imagine those hugs you share or hand shakes you pass daily; is it a gift or is it a curse?

A little back history: At the age of 15, Tira was smitten with not one, but two strapping young men, Nic and Duke. At the age of 18 yrs old, they were consider men by the colony. They knew they had to wait till Tira became of age to have her; so, they bidded their time. Time paid off and Tira was finally able to be with them. Remember the skin to skin contact... remember gift or curse...

Once they are able to be together... a touch that was supposed to be shared between lovers, what their dreams were made of turned into a living nightmare. Tira caught a glimpse of a deadly vision that included her men. After that one touch, she pushed both of them away and put up a wall. Does she want them, hell yes. Do they want her, double hell yes. But with such a strong vision as what she saw, she refuses to be the reason for one of her lover's death. How do you live with the two men you love when you can only touch one lover but not the other. Touching one of the men was like a slice of heaven but the other... was just asking for the nightmare to relive itself over and over.

The book picks up where eight years have passed. Tira's heart breaks from afar to just touch Nic and she has a love/hate relationship with Duke. Nic being the one she can not touch, Duke just assumes he is the stand in for Nic. These men are total opposites of each other. Nic is the charmer and Duke is the silent type. So the love/hate relationship that Tira and Duke share is very pressing on the nerves.

The main thing I love about this story is how it shows what determined love can do. Tira is close to allowing her gift of seeing the future really ruin her future. She has two men who absolutely adore her and would do anything for her and she is lets time slip away because of the vision. This story is a very passionate story. The love of three people, the courage of one woman and the determination of two men to keep what is there - no matter what the cost is.

Nic gets hurt while in his line of duty and plays the pity card to her knowing that she can not resist him. Nic asks her to come back home with the both of them to take care of him. The men are also fed up with the pushing away and the walls that Tira has done over the years. Everyone is saying screw the vision... we want our relationship! But believe me it is a fight to the death for this relationship to survive.

We see all the characters come back in the story and that is another thing I love about Ms. Julian's writing style. This story is about family and Ms. Julian keeps it that way. It picks up right where Kiss of Moonlight left off. This story is awesome and again, the action high, the love scorching and the sex off the charts. Omg is all i can!!!!!!! You better get your glass of ice - not water just ice and a box fan handy (and maybe your hubs or s/o) close by you will need them. These stories can almost be read in a day (depending on what you do for your day job..)

These stories just keep getting better and better!

Some people believe that all things are destine to be as they are. Some people believe they are responsible for their actions and future. Some people believe that things are already all mapped out for them... All these things are true to a point... But I believe we all have choices in life.. what we do with choices will lead you down the next path of life...

Tira finally grew a pair and took matters in her own hands and made the life she wanted... But at what cost does one get what she truly wants... Will Tira get the sweet dreams of her two men... or will she get the nightmares of her visions... To find out you will have to read it!!!!

I am fixing to start the third one... The newly released: Edge of Moonlight!

Be on the lookout for that review coming soon!!!!

What I liked

Oh lordy I never tire of reading erotica where two dudes lust after one girl. I liked how Julian initiated the relationship between Duke and Tira. Upset with Tira for leaving both of them, Duke always believed that if she could have been with Nic, she might not have really wanted him. Unable to say no this time around, he gives in and finally after all this time he seduces her. Meanwhile, Nic still recuperating from his wounds can’t help but feel envious of Duke’s time with Tira, if he can’t physically touch her, he’d rather watch then not have her at all. There is a muy caliente couch scene where Duke takes Tira in front of Nic.

What I didn’t like

Let me tell you I am a huge fan of the long lost love angle and I liked this aspect in the story. What I did not care for was Tira’s Gift angle and how it prevented her from being with her mates. Seeing Nic’s death whenever she touched him, just didn’t seem a strong enough angle for me as a reader, although I thought it ‘worked’ throughout the book (especially when her ‘Gift’ evolved). I also felt that Tira read a bit 2 dimensional to me – I would have liked her to have more ‘much’ (def: Alice In Wonderland Movie – means to have lost one’s gumption) . Overall my little ‘hmm moments’ didn’t get in the way too much to enjoy the story.

Quotes:
Duke: They’d run as wolves, planned their lives as soldiers. And met a girl who they’d both decided had been theirs. It’d been the weirdest thing, knowing that the skinny. 15 year old strega with the moonlight hair was meant to be theirs. And they’d both accepted it.

Nic: He’d never had her. He’d never felt those beautiful hands caress his body, wrap around his c*ck. Never felt the soft silk of her surround him as he sank deep into her. And by all the f*cking gods, he wanted to.

Final Verdict: I thought Moonlight Ménage was a sexy read, if at times a bit predictable. I did have some ‘hmm moments’ that didn’t quite work for me in the story, mainly with Tira and her lack of “much-ness”, but Nic and Duke more than made up for it. Although I didn’t feel this one was as good as Kiss of Moonlight, Moonlight Ménage certainly had me tingling in all the right places.

I’m looking forward to the 3rd story with Kaine and John.

P.S. Would I have liked to see Nic and Duke get it on? I’m not going to lie; I kind of made up my own epilogue where Tira was sitting on the couch watching her men make sweet love to one another.

Second book in the Lucain lovers series just as the quite a bit of action and lot’s of hot sex, but this one is a Ménage M/F/M. Nic and Duke are hot wolf shifters that loves one woman Tira, but they can’t have her because she has visions of the future and when she touches Nic she sees his death, so they all love each other from afar, doesn’t seem far does it? Tira has loved them since the age of 8 years old. After having sex with Duke and the way he acts, Tira is fed up! so one day she takes matter in her own hands, she asks for three nights with the both of them and only get’s one, but as you guessed it this will come with a price.

This is a good quick hot read. I have to hand it to Stephanie she really writes good ménage’s, she doesn’t leave you confused with who is who and who is doing what and she writes it sizzling hot. My only down side I had was Duke, he was on my nerves before he calmed down, it crazy what jealousy will do to you. I really liked Tira mom and Cat also makes an appearance in this book to help out.

From a young age Tira has known that she was destined to be with Nic & Duke. But one vision of death changes all that. Ever since she has distanced herself from them. It has been 8 years since that fateful vision and it hasn't changed. With danger near Tira wonders if she should take a chance on love before it's too late.

I really enjoyed Tira, Nic & Duke's journey. Tira is a pretty strong heroine and really she'd have to be to resist these two hunky guys for so long. Moonlight Ménage is the second book in the Lucani Lover series and its a wonderful addition. It is a fun, steamy story. But also one of heartache and taking a chance on love. I love how at the end of each story the epilogue leads into the next couple/book.... can't wait to see what will happen next.

Why I read: It was offered for review and I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Kiss of Moonlight.

Favorite Quote: “I want you to put your hands on the arms of the chair and not let go. Understand?”

Tira, Nic and Duke have been in love the past eight years. Well, let me rephrase, Duke and Nic love Tira, and the men, although not sexually attracted (darn it!) have a very close friendship. The three of them want to be together, but it is not possible. Tira is a witch and when she touches some people, she gets glimpses into their future. She sees nothing when she touches Duke, but when she touches Nic, she sees his violent death, which makes it impossible for her to be intimate with him. This also pushes Duke away, using anger as his defense mechanism.

It is not until an awful explosion, where Duke and Nic barely make it out alive, that the three of them realize they need to be pro-active. Duke thinks he is being pitied, whom Tira only turns to because she can’t touch Nic. Nic wants to be in Tira’s life, even if that means it will get cut short because of his foreseen death. Tira wants them both, but struggles with a mother, who battling psychosis, and two men who are right there, but so far away. Now she is needed to care for them as they recover. Together, they will try to find a way to overcome all obstacles in their way.

Moonlight Menage is the second book in Stephanie Julian’s Lucani Lovers series. Although this three-way relationship has been in the works for eight years, the three of them have much to overcome. Besides the actual problem of Tira and Nic not being able to touch, there is much miscommunication involving Duke. When she pushed both men away, after realizing she couldn’t touch Nic, Duke took it very personally. A very frosty relationship develops between them and Duke works his feelings up to being jealous that Tira wants Nic so bad.

I had a little bit of an issue with their current communications. Nic apparently has a big plan to solve all their problems, yet doesn’t tell anyone – even after Tira runs out upset. I understand there needs to be suspense, but why wouldn’t Nic sit them down right away and explain his plan.

I also could not get past the end, when the reveal occurs telling us the final designation for Nic. I didn’t want him killed off, but there needed to be something big and believable to get him out of this sticky situation. The reason for him not to die, killed the deal for me. In my opinion it is very weak, and made no sense. It is a very easy way out, and I was disappointed.

What I did like in this book is a believable three-way relationship. Nic and Duke have enough affection for each other that it makes it work when Tira comes into play. They don’t get jealous if one ends up with the other – they have known this relationship was meant to be for a long time, so when the time comes that they can actually explore each other, it is very fulfilling for them (and verra sexy for us! – go hot ménage!)

Moonlight Ménage is a very steamy addition to this series but unfortunately, one that leaves a lot to be desired.

I received this book as a review copy from the author and I was a bit shy to start it at first. I haven't read Kiss of Moonlight so I was afraid to be totally lost in this one but I was wrong. Okay from time to time I noticed that I missed out on something but I plan to get Kiss of Moonlight ASAP.

This book starts with a big bang. We are thrown in the middle of a burning house and with the fear of losing someone important. This part was the confusing part for me because I had no idea who all these people are but after the first chapter I was totally drawn into the story and just couldn't stop.

Tira is very complex character. She cares for the ones she loves but she also has to shield her heart from breaking. She knows nearly all her life that she loves Drake and Nic however unusual that may seem. She always accepted that and knew they would live their lives together. But one day she gets this awful vision while touching Nic and she just can't resume living this way. She accepts that the decision to leave them will probably break her but it's better than the alternative. Or that's what she thought before Nic nearly dies in the aforementioned fire. Now she sees how short life could be and she has to grab her opportunity of happiness however short it may be, now.

Drake is the silent broody type and he could never accept Tira's decision. He thinks she hates him because of what she saw in her vision so long ago and he just can't let it go. Every chance he gets he makes some asshole comment and always gets into a fight with her. He still wants her but he just can't stand this situation.

Nic is more outgoing than Drake. He's full of life and some would say he has a death wish with all the risks he takes each day. He's a real Don Juan and didn't waste any time in the eight years without Tira.

What I found real surprising that these relationship seemed so real to me. I'm mostly skeptical when it comes to long time threesomes. I always think that this kind of relationship could be really problematic from time to time. After all there is one person who can get hurt or feel out of the loop. But I could believe it works for these three.

The relationship development between these 3 was heartbreaking. I so felt for them and I was they find a solution through the whole time and I felt as desperate as they felt . The whole situation seemed to be unsolvable.

I also enjoyed the side characters. The whole story around the 3 was gripping and I loved the community Ms. Julian created. I especially liked that all seemed so tolerant and full of love. I'm always a sucker for a strong family and I always had to smile at all the Italian words. That was so like being in Italy. LOL

All in all the book is a really hawt read with good m/f/m action. You will so need extra undies for this one. *wink* At times the story felt a bit rushed and the solution at the end was way too easy for me but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Tira truly believes her Gift is more curse than anything. She knows that she wants to be with both Nic and Duke. She knows that both Nic and Duke reciprocate these feelings. She knows that both men want to be with her in a relationship where they all three enjoy the pleasures they have to share. Nic, Duke, and Tira are all on the same page when it comes to fulfilling their desires.

The problem that keeps this trio apart, Tira can’t touch Nic. Every time she touches him she sees his death. Then she sees Duke push her away because he has lost his best friend. They have spent the past eight years avoiding each other.

Duke and Nic have very dangerous jobs within the lucani. When they have a close call with death this dire event leaves the trio questioning their distance. This is the push they needed to finally give in and see to their desires. They are determined to make the relationship work by any means possible.

I loved this novella. The first time that Nic, Tira, and Duke are all three together has got to be the hottest voyeuristic sex scene I have ever read. They knew what they wanted out of each other and they did everything possible to see that they got their happily ever after. The feelings they have for each other just couldn’t be denied any longer and it came together into an awesome novella.

This was my first book with M/M/F as the main characters (HEA). I was honestly wondering if I would like that concept. But I am happy to say that I really enjoyed it. I think the reason I enjoyed this story so much was because I absolutely loved Nic and Varro/Duke. They are amazing. 'Brothers in every way but blood.' They have been best friends for their entire lives and just happen to fall in love with the same woman. And in their world, sharing her will not be a problem.
The storyline follows straight on from the first book in the series. We get a little catch up from past characters and meet some great new ones.
This book ends with some information leading into a third book which I cannot wait to read.
One last thing. I can't possibly end this without saying how INCREDIBLY HOT the sex was throughout this whole book. Who would ever complain about such? lol ;)

I really enjoyed this book. I like this little world of characters she has created. Lots of variety and interesting stories. The author has made it possible to understand the terminology by putting nice little glossaries in the books, however,I still found myself struggling to keep track of what some of the terms were. However, other than that this series is really good and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Tira and her two men were made for each other and it was heart breaking to know they all had to wait so long to be together. The book was somewhat short but it still felt like so much was going on and it was written so well that it really felt like a longer book. Well done! On to the next one.... sounds like Kaine's story will be very emotional..

This is book t o in the Lucuni Lovers series. This is the story of Nic and Duke, two warriors for the Lucuni. They have both loved the same girl since they we 18 years old. Her name is Tira, she is a seer. She saw Nic's death when she was 18 and she has stayed away from the two men she loves because in that vision Nic dies and Duke turns away from her. She thinks living alone is better than losing them both. Nic has had enough when a house almost kills him when it is blown up. He sets into motion a plan that will make or break them as a triad. If the next books keep getting better, I'm not sure I won't stay up all night reading. Lol.

Good read - contains two hunky werewolves and their true love who foresees death for one of them... Contains lots of action - both in and out of the bedroom. Has menage sex [no m/m:].

Previous book is Kiss of Moonlight which I liked just as much!

Although not explicitly listed as part of her Lucani Lovers series - Seduced by Two - occurs chronologically before the two Moonlight books and involves some of the same characters.

So far I've enjoyed everything of hers I've read - will be getting more as time goes on!

Loved this until Nic admitted to sleeping with anything that offered….while he knew he belonged to Tira and vice versa. Pitiful. That’s not how it works with mates. Regardless if she thought they couldn’t be together because every time she touched him she saw his death. But now all the sudden he’s all in?!? Going after her to make it work. Guess he must’ve slept around til he ran out. Gross. She didn’t miss out but being with him apparently. If that’s his version of love for her, she should always deny him.

Visions of Moonlight

I'm mad that woman that has been kidnapping the supernatural got away again. I can't wait to read the next book and see what's next. Tira, Nic and Duke has had a lot of struggles getting to the point where they could be together. I can't imagine touching a loved one and seeing their death each time. It's amazing reading these books and see how their lives all play out. Tira's mom surprised me most of all. I'm excited what the next book will bring.

The Lucani Lovers is a six-book steamy paranormal romance series that was re-edited and, in some cases, rewritten, and republished in February 2016.

Nic and Duke are brothers in every way except by blood. They work, live, and play together, and they both love Tira deeply.

Scared by a vision she had of Nic’s death the first and only time she attempted to be with Nic and Duke, Tira has isolated herself from the men she loves. Now that Nic’s time appears to be coming to an end, Tira must decide if she wants to continue hiding or take a chance on love.

Nic, Duke, and Tira’s story began in the previous book, Kiss of Moonlight. They share an eight-year history, which gives the story a tight emotional connection from the start. The trio share a bond and unrequited love that has kept each of them unhappy. I really like the back story reasons for their distance.

The overall story of the mysterious kidnappings deepens and builds upon the first book, however some of the storylines mentioned in the first book are absent in Moonlight Menage, which didn’t bother me, but left me wondering if they will pick back up. There is still a lot of unknown and mystery surrounding the overall storyline, and I like how we get bits over the course of each book. Additionally, the author brings in new characters and deepens the mythology.

The smex is hot. There are lots of menage sexy times. The scenes add emotional value to the book.

Overall I liked Moonlight Menage, but there one or two scenes that just felt out of place - added fluff or their purpose not clear, making them feel superfluous. I would have preferred either a deeper connection made between the scenes and the story or have them edited out. I am enjoying this series. It’s a great mix of PNR erotica and a solid, extended storyline that leaves me ready to take on the next book.

My Rating: B, Liked It

Excellent story

This book was great and I really couldn't put it down. It was different from other shifter books I've read and I couldn't wait to see how it would end. I'm anxious to read the next book in the series as the first two have been terrific!
