Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama's Radical Agenda

Rate this book
Barack Obama and his radical team of self-professed socialists, fringe activists, and others are trying to remake the American way of life. They have used their new Democratic majority to launch an alarming assault on our capitalist system—while abandoning the war on terror, undermining our national security, and weakening our position in the eyes of our enemies. The "candidate of change" is threatening to change our country irreparably, and for the worse—if we don't act to stop him now. Sean Hannity has been sounding the alarms about Obama and his agenda from the start. Now—in his first new book in six years—he issues a stirring call to action. Hannity surveys all the major Obama players—from the president's affiliation with radical theology to his advisers' history of Marxist activism, repression of the media, support for leftist dictators, and worse. He exposes their resulting campaign to dismantle the American free-market system and forfeit our national sovereignty. But he draws on the examples of Ronald Reagan and the GOP's Contract with America to show how conservatives can unite behind this country's most cherished principles and act now to get America back on the right track—while we still can.

Let me preface this review by saying that I knew I would not enjoy this book when I picked it up from the library. However, I decided to give it a read to have a deeper insight into how the ideology of the right is changing with the new found political climate.

I began reading this book and within the introduction, Hannity reminisces about the Reagan era of conservatism, as many other Republicans are at this time. However, every piece of far right propaganda produced by this book go directly AGAINST Reagan's moderate viewpoints and policies. Through and through, this piece of "literature" is a mass produced (and unfortunately, consumed) piece of modern propaganda. There is no doubt that Hannity knows his audience, and wants to appeal to them with his right wing nut ideology and this book was not for me, but I did not expect the complete lack of backing evidence. Instead, you as a reader will find biased rhetoric and at one point, Hannity even cites his own employer as some kind of "non-biased" news source.

Frankly it was laughable to read the McCarthy-esque chapter regarding members of President Obama's administration. The Office of Science and Technology was not spared, as Hannity denied scientific fact in defense of his own views about the environment and what kind of policies should be in place to protect it. For someone who often asserts that the president it messing up the country for the next generation, he doesn't seem to want there to be a healthy planet for that generation to live on. Although this may not be a very important issue to Americans at this point, let me bring up another example of a "czar" in this administration, Kevin Jennings, the founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network). Of course no one would expect any support for Jennings in this book, but Hannity goes as far in this section as to say that there should be no base sexual education for students, and that some sort of "homosexual agenda" is being pushed upon children. Most of these "Czars" are not even in direct relations with the president, but are rather just used as an outlet for Hannity's uncontrollable red rage.

The title of chapter 3 is "Obama the Socialist," now any normal American can see that our President is not in fact, practicing socialism. In this chapter Hannity cites sources such as Republican power house, The Heritage Foundation. Hannity discredits himself immensely by using BLATANTLY biased and partisan sources, and assuming no one would look beyond his ridiculous rhetoric and hairline. The gross misunderstanding of the economy by Hannity is appalling, especially because this man is employed to deliver news to impressionable Americans. His yellow journalism and misstated job numbers only further prove that this is not a book to take for fact, but rather maybe for an easy and funny read.

No one is unfamiliar with the Islamaphobia displayed on Fox News. On multiple occasions Hannity has spoken with anti-Islam group leaders and adamantly agreed with their extreme viewpoints. Even more alarming, Hannity accuses the president of almost being a terrorist sympathizer. It seems that this half-wit cannot distinguish between Muslims and Terrorists when he states in relation to 9/11 that there has "clearly been a Muslim problem" in accordance with many of is colleagues on Fox News.

It is worthless to even bring up Hannity's "God-fearing" social policy as he is only regurgitating the rhetoric of Republican congressmen. He degrades single working mothers and the unemployed in a typical conservative-man fashion. The rhetoric at this point is getting weak, and it is difficult to read on.

Throughout this book it seems that Hannity is preaching that the Republican party needs some kind of change, however in the last section of his book he urges men and women of the party to "stick to their guns" and not budge. Men like Hannity are the reason government can't work in this day and age. By encouraging his FALSE and DESPICABLE ideology, the partisan climate will not come anywhere closer to dissolving. Conservatives like Hannity need to reevaluate the actions of their party, and realize that the change needs to come from within, and NOT from the exterior.

The ascendent radical left, who have now firmly taken control, not only of the Democratic Party but the country have given the majority of Americans a decidedly anti-American, anti-free market, anti-Constitutional, and anti-liberty & freedom message. In it's place they offer a smorgasboard of government control, regulation, profligate spending and nanny-state programs.

The ironic positive side to this situation is that many Americans are reviewing (or discovering for the first time) the principles and freedoms upon which this great country was founded. And they are discovering, no surprise, that these principles still work!.... or at least can still work if we reject the Statists now in power.

Hannity chronicles the progress of these statist progressives, prominently, Barak Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, and then offers refreshing strategies to turn back this debilitating tide and return to the foundational values that have given rise to over two centuries of American exceptionalism and a force for good in the world.

My first impression remains: it's a journalists quickie book rattled off in a quiet spot between elections. The ideas aren't explored in any real detail and there's little or no philosophical depth (among other things, liberalism, socialism and Marxism are treated and basically interchangeable philosophies). The prospect that this might be the state of modern conservative thought would make Edmund Burke turn in his grave.

Just more right wing propaganda.

Don't get me wrong, I think there is value in having both right wing and left wing thinkers, I'm not the type of person to say my beliefs are correct and those with differences of opinion are wrong.

But this isn't opinions. It's nonsense. It's bullshit. It's spewing inaccuracies and flat out lies because Hannity knows his stupid base will eat it up.

Dear lurking review reader
When I hear the world “radical” I immediately think of someone, like Hannity, who gets his jollies off by demanding women answer to his warped beliefs on how they should decide their own health decisions. Radical is Hannity having Mr. Cancun Cruz on to whine that the legalization of “marriage equality” is the equivalent of “9/11” for conservatives. “Radical” is decrying breakfast/lunch programs in schools as “socialism” but turning a blind eye to the “socialism” found in Wall Street that Hannity loves so much. “Radical” is starting a foundation for the children of Iraq/Afghan war vets, with the promise of raising money to send their kids to college, only to turn around and spend money of the foundation that (surprise) was a for-profit organization that covered his personal expenses, exploits and more or less everything BUT college tuition.
So, “radical” is reserved for people like Hannity, who lives to write books like this, get you to send his political candidates money and send a little his way too.

This is a great book for anyone unfamiliar with Sean Hannity, conservative principles, or the dealings of Barack Obama and the socialist left that he is associated with. If you listen to Sean Hannity's radio show frequently, as I do, then there is a chance that the information in this book is nothing to do you as a reader. Thus the 4.0 rating. It is a great list of conservative principles and how to get back to the constitutional roots of the nation. This a book that you should give to your liberal left friends to hopefully convince them what the right has been saying for 2 years. Or show this book to your moderate, "independent," friends to finally sway them to the correct side of the political spectrum

The truth behind Obama, the man and the liberal machine that put him in office..their influences and objectives. And, more importantly, what conservatives need to do to win back the White House and control of Congress. Enlightening and motivating, it's a roadmap for conservative and a call to action.

Excellent outline of what must be done to defeat the march of Liberalism currently destroying America. Some hard truths must be faced by Conservatives if they expect to lead this country back to prosperity, and Hannity does a good job showing what they are -- and how to face them.

Every American should read this book, regardless of party affiliation. Hannity deftly unveils the deception and incomprehensible stupidity in which Obama and his cohorts are engaged. The facts are inarguable.

This came out of the box "When did I buy this?", but I'm glad I read it again. I think I finished a different copy in 2011, but a lot of ink has gone under the bridge since then.

While much of it is dated, there is a lot that is still relevant today. The second chapter lists the people who made it into Obama's cabinet and inner circle when he was President. Many of these same people are in President Biden's cabinet now with even more disastrous results than before.

Chapter Four gives us the Obama foreign policy that, well, I'm not sure what it did except hand Iran a planeload of cash. Once again, the Biden administration is pursuing the same policies.

In Chapter Ten, Hannity provides a list of what he believes are the actions needed to get out of the Liberal created mess. He was right then and is still today.

For anyone interested in politics or even if you want a few ideas how to act locally to stem the tide of Idiocracy.

Find it! Buy it! Then for goodness sake, READ IT!

This book lays out the idea of whoever has the biggest stick enforces the peace. Terrible book, unimpressive writing, and arrogant ideology, that is just to say if I'm trying to be nice about it.

First, this book is a very easy read. If I actually had time to read more it would have been a very quick read. Mr. Hannity lays out the case against President Obama, his administration and the liberal/progressive agenda. Anyone that is following the country these days knows most of what Mr. Hannity has written about in the first part of the book. While it is repetitive, it is also good for anyone wanting assistance in articulating themselves during discussions with liberals. The second part of this book was dedicated to making the case for conservatism. I disagree with many reviews of this book that state he was too rigid. The entire point of this book was to ask the conservatives to stay focused big picture as to allow individuals to work together on issues while allowing differences of opinions to remain. Rather than compromise conservative principles to "get along" focus on the areas that unite the 2/3 majority in this nation that tends to be more conservative than liberal. Mr. Hannity is asking the Conservative Movement to focus on smaller government, lower taxes and supporting the traditional family.
Another reviewer stated that he focused too much on abortion. While I disagree, I believe his point was that one of the conservative cornerstones is to support a culture of life. Again, Mr. Hannity is trying to get the conservative movement to be proud of what it stands for. We can disagree on the legal ruling of Roe v. Wade, or parental notification laws and how they are implemented. We can even debate the fact that the government has anything at all to say about abortion, but conservatives can not negotiate on protecting life.
The last section I enjoyed, even though it wasn't really new. He gave a lot of quotes from President Reagan and showed how they could be applied to today's situation. I fear that the professional political class in this country has forgotten who they work for. The constitution is two centuries old and contains the answers. We don't need to provide fresh new alternatives to liberalism. We must attack it, not meet it half way, and a true conservative manifesto would say so. Mr. Hannity has done just that.
I can't give it any more than three stars, however, as it is simply a re-hashing of what is on his radio and television show everyday. I am glad he is out there unabashedly giving the conservative view of things along with several other prominent media members. A decent read for anyone that wishes to know the conservative movements basic issues, but really no new information.

I was severely disappointed in this book. I picked it up wanting to hear a concrete argument. I wanted it to convince me to look at things another way, to see a bigger picture, but the book definitely wasn't written for me. My mistake there. Hannity assumes you agree with him fully, you think liberals are stupid and too ideological for their own good, and that you just want to know how they won. I was constantly frustrated by sweeping statements with no references. I WANTED THE REFERENCES. I want to know why he thinks the way he does so I can follow the logic. I think the only way to a middle ground is to stop calling each others principles "wrong" and start looking at what we agree on and he most certainly doesn't want to do that.

The perfect example is that he will say something like "America needs to be energy independent in 15 years" which I agree with. I would love that. We could keep out of other countries oil politics, employ more americans, and spend less money trucking in whatever it is we are using for energy. But then he suggests the way we do that is five bullets which amount to more coal mining, drilling (including in national park reserves) in 48 states, and more nuclear plants. The next sentence includes the comments about protecting the environment! All I wanted was him to convince me. Convince me in whatever way he was convinced that those bullets are actually viable options that might somehow protect the environment but instead I was left scratching my head and asking if there was any connection at all between the ideas he espouses that I can get behind (like protecting the environment and becoming energy independent) and the way he proposes doing them.

This book was not a debate, it was not meant to convince. It was meant to tell people who agree with him that they are right. That's okay but I won't be reading any more Hannity for the foreseeable future. My next two will be Reagan and Goldwater - see if they can't teach me something.

I've never read a Hannity book but it's pretty much like his show. I'd love to be able to talk to him, ask him some questions and get his ideas on certain issues.

I love how he goes into the background of Obama, not as a birther, but what formed the man. How he was influenced as a young man by those around him.

The quotes from Ronald Reagan were amazing especially how they tied into today's issues. It's almost as if he was talking about today instead of the late 1960's through his presidency.

The principles that Sean shares are simple and timeless. Although Conservatives are considered out-of-date, history proves otherwise. Our principles work, the economy thrives and our people prosper.

It's funny when you think about it but conservatives are the majority in the United States! The liberal/progressives are the minority but obviously aren't afraid to let their shrill voices be heard. It's time that conservatives stand up and just as evangelicals will proclaim the gospel on the rooftops, state with unequivocal boldness our love for our country, share our morals and dissatisfaction with the current government.

I thought this book was really good. It starts out with a review of President Obama, his beliefs and his associations. I thought that section was a little long winded, because I already knew Obama was far left of me and that the "fundamental change" that he is working for is not what I want of America. So I didn't really need 100 pages of information about that. But I can understand why Sean Hannity wanted to make sure that was covered.

After that section, though, was when the book got really good. It was no longer about Obama. At that point it was about conservative principals and why they are important. It was filled with quotes about Ronald Reagan that apply amazingly well today.

It also talked about how conservatism is the key to restoring the prosperity that America has been known for. Our current economic crisis is a result of too much regulation that has hampered the free market.

I would give the first half about Obama 3 stars, because it was interesting to know all the facts about him, but at the same time it felt a little like an Obama bash fest. But I would give the second half 5 stars. So, overall, I give the book 4 stars.

An excellent treatise on how our political past has shaped our present and what we can start to do now to shape our future. Filled with direct quotes and footnotes, Sean Hannity lets the anti-conservative politicians own words show their true agenda. Like many conservatives, I believe in the vision the founding fathers had for our country and in our Constitution's ability to continue to be the backbone of a great nation as it was originally intended to be. Our country stands as a beacon of hope for a better life for all others - that is why so many want to come here to make their home. Why is it then that some want to drag us down to the inferior way of life we see in other countries? I certainly don't want to live in a communist country or one run by a dictator or even one with socialized medicine or such heavy regulation they can't show a car commercial in which a car drives fast (England). If we fall, who will the downtrodden and oppressed of other countries look to for their hope of a better life?

For those of us that were actually paying attention during this last election cycle...there really is not anything new in this book. For those individuals that made their decision based soley on emotion (and are now suffering from buyers remorse), but maintain an open mind; you may learn something from the multitude of documented facts about the idiologies and philosophies of our current president. I will give Hannity props for actually proposing solutions to many of our problems which so many pundits on either side of the isle never seem to come up with. In general, I found this book somewhat depressing in that you really can see how much worse things can get before they get better. I really only want to say two things: 1. Mr. President...I live within my means and I expect my government and the rest of the country to do the same. 2. Please stop punishing me for working my butt off by taxing me to death.

Interesting and compelling book.

Sean Hannity makes a call for the resurgence of conservative principles in American politics in his book.

As has been demonstrated by current events, President Obama is on a path to steer the United States into a radically different country than what was envisioned at its founding. While the history of Obama has been murky, due to to an apathetic media, Hannity makes it clear is that Obama's actions and statements made prior to his inauguration only reveals him for the radical he is.

Now more than ever, Hannity makes the case for conservatives to rally for upcoming elections to preserve and conserve the founding principles and values from the collectivist ideals of the current administration.

I would actually place this book somewhere between a 3 and a 4. I like a lot of what he had to say, but...

1. The first section on Obama was pretty much just a recap of news since his election. Anyone paying attention to what is going on already knew all of those facts.

2. Sometimes it didn't seem like he was getting to the point.

3. He focused a bit too much on abortion. Don't hate me here. I understand it is a big issue for many, but for me it is more of a detail in the fabric. I think the focus right now really needs to be centralized more on corruption, federal vs. states rights and individual liberties in broad terms.

A great easy and short read to understand Obama's extremely liberal background, colleagues, what he's done, and what he plans to do (versus what we're told is going on). The book also includes a great summary of our conservative principles and detailed goals we should all be working towards, summing up for a great argument as to why we MUST voice our opinions in the upcoming elections!

Also, the book was very cheap and paperback--Only $9 at Costco or $8 on Abebooks.com (including $3 shipping). Get it and read it!

Sean Hannity is a great American. It's hard for me to rate a book "5" unless I really think it's either 1) a classic or 2) a must read. There are very few "must read" books out there. There are, however, classics. I don't think this book will become a classic although I has some really good stuff in it.

This book was published in 2010. What Hannity warns us about then is still true today. Conservatives must dp a better job of presenting their ideology. What makes America great is our self-reliance, our liberty, our military strength. We better heed the warnings and not elect another liberal as President.
