**Thanks to Jilly and Vivian for the buddy read and for popping my buddy read cherry!!**

"More Fun with Dick and Shane" is basically a continuation of the first book in the series. Gilli makes me laugh like no other! The situations that he gets himself into are just priceless. I had tears streaming down my face at certain points. Oh Gilli, you truly are the world's most lovable brat!

This book was slightly different than the first in a few significant ways. Sure, Gilli makes the same jokes as before and puts his foot in his mouth regularly as per usual, but the second addition of his diaries had some serious undercurrents. I honestly wanted to cry for Gilli when He doesn't talk about it much in this addition because it is too painful for him, but when he finally does, maybe in the next book, I'm sure my heart is going to be breaking right along side his. Also, he had to deal with . I'm sure that is going to play out in more in the next addition as well.

Overall, I loved reading about Gilli and his unconventional relationship. I will certainly read the next two books in the series because I can't stand not knowing what happens to my little Sub.

Gillibran Brown I don't know if you're real or not but you sure are fascinating and your life is anything but boring!

Still not 100% sure I understand all the complexities of this daddy style relationship but Gilli explains it really well :

" ... The discipline lifestyle I practice with them can be difficult and sometimes I do just want to shove it in a box out of sight and please myself, but most of the time I truly want to serve it to the best of my ability because it not only excites and stimulates me, it also comforts and nurtures me. I am bound to them not by chains or ropes but with all my heart and soul"

I still found myself gnashing my teeth at daddy Shane a hell of a lot in this story, personally I just think he's a bad tempered git. Gilli does push his buttons and does deserve some of the punishments meted out, especially when it relates to his health and safety but sometimes Shane is just plain ornery and who gets it in the kneck or across his poor maligned buttocks ... Yes poor sweet Gilli!!! Thank god Dick is there to slightly soften the blows.

As before this book is extremely funny, there are some absolutely hilarious scrapes that Gilli gets into that were so funny I cried laughing, in fact I recommend waterproof protection whilst reading because in parts I was leaking at both ends at the same time!! That's what makes this such a great read. One minute laughing, one minute filling up with tears and one minute bristling because you want to cuddle Gilli when he's smarting from his run ins with Shane and Dick.

I'm loving every minute with these guys but I've definitely fallen hook line and sinker for this sarcastic, petulant, exasperating, endearing, loveable houseboy! Gilli I really do adore you.

Another hysterical installment from Gilli's diary. The humor was spot on again, and there were some serious issues, but I guess I didn't have quite the same intense alignment with this sequel. Nonetheless, I laughed out loud many times, recalled all kinds of naughty things I did as a tot, and enjoyed the remembrance.

Favorite quote: This one is from the Tao of Gilli

Dick once told me that the secret of a good relationship is to accept and enjoy what the other person is willing to offer instead of yearning for something they can’t or won’t give.

This book deserves to be read for the figging episode alone. There are some laugh-out-loud funny moments in here and it's a fast easy read. A couple of the repeated bits wear a little thin and Gilli is still bratty, insecure and prone to dwelling on the negatives. But I really enjoyed this and will read the next one whenever it comes out. I do hope his relationship moves forward a bit more. There was not a lot of change from the first book here, and I think this menage will only become more interesting when it matures.

I think it's safe to say I'm officially a Gilli addict. I love the way these are written. Gilli has such a great way of telling a story, whether he is being funny or explaining one of his many disciplinary sessions. His descriptions often make me chuckle out loud.

I do have a hard time reading about his frequent tantrums and wrong decisions resulting in the negative attention of his daddies, but more so I think that I wish for him to gain better control over his insecurity and jealousy issues.

His condition and the way he deals or not deals, as the case may be, saddens me, but I am always happy to see the way Shane and Dick take care of him and help him through his episodes.

I really expected to tire of this but surprisingly find myself needing more and more. Alas, I am off to book 3.

First book of 2015! More fun with Gilli, but serious issues too - Gilli's continuing medical condition, dealing with reconnecting with his mom and her illness, and I don't know about you, but I was pretty sad at the loss of Clarice - she was his buddy in his isolation. And the fact that he glossed over the civil union means that there was a lot more to it than he disclosed and I'm guessing will be covered in book 3 - which, of course, I must read, stat!

Gilli brings a lot of his mishaps on himself due to his immaturity but sometimes I think his needs aren't being met and that makes him act out more. Even so, he's always funny although sometimes it's gallow's humor.

Onwards to book 3.

I seriously love this brat of a boy, Gilli. He has completely won me over and I was disappointed when the book ended. I'm still trying very hard to understand Shane, Dick, and Gilli's relationship. But even though I haven't quite wrapped my mind around it, reading about it is addictive. Shane is still a bit of an enigma to me. I have no doubt that he feels deeply for Gilli, but he comes across as cold at times. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Reread - Feb 24 - goodness that Ginger scene and the telephone prank cracked me up! Otherwise very similar feelings to the first time. I've been desperately trying to work out where these guys live (not in a weird stalkerish way though 🤫), I think Liverpool?

This was a great continuation of Gilli's story with dick and shane. There were some serious laugh out loud moments in this book which just had looking like a freak out in public cos I was laughing so hard.

I found not a lot happened in this book (didn't stop me from not being able to put it down though). I mean a lot did happen but it was kinda glossed over, my understanding is some of it is more fleshed out in the next book. Looking forward to the next few books.

That was just all kinds of wonderful! I literally laughed the whole way through, the messes Gillie gets into, just too funny. There's one episode in the kitchen, well I won't spoil it for you but it involves a little bit of knowledge and not enough information (and literally no sense!). I couldn't stop laughing.

The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars was the little bit too much repetition on the theme of Daddy Shane's displeasure with our houseboy and Gillie being too much the brat. I know he's learning, but still.

Overall one of the best, most tender and funny stories I've read this year.

I suppose that you can read this story without having read the previous, but you won't understand a lot of the references in it, particularly the people involved. It doesn't give any reminders of who they are or what happened previously; it expects that you know. Reading them back to back is best.

I think that I have figured out my dislike of the Dick & Shane books - it's that they don't fit into book format well - they're much better in the original blog entry format than as a 'book'. The diary-like format is different, but it's also distracting, particularly for the back-and-forth when some stories are told after the fact. I understand that it makes more sense to do it that way from a realism standpoint, since this is set as an autobiographic work, but because it's so episodic, I don't get sucked into it all the way through - I stop when that piece of the story stops. As a blog that you go back to on occasion, this works really well. As a book, it doesn't (at least not for me).

As a book, I keep wishing that it was told in a more typical 1st person fashion all the way through instead of diary-like for the most part with shorter normal stories interspersed. There's not a compelling reason to continue reading the book right that moment, and I know that in the end, there won't have been any point to reading it other than for the "day-in-the-life" stories, which are good, but there's no point - that is other than to know what it would be like, to some degree, to live a 24/7 submissive lifestyle. So, I put it down regularly.

I like the characters and story so much that I wish I didn't feel like I could put it down so easily. Even so, it might like it more if it was strictly diary format and didn't take the random breaks for 'story-telling' - I'd rather the stories be told as part of the diary format instead of as separate asides. But the real problem is that there's no true end, and hardly even a lesson learned. (Gillibran is a stubbon sod. He'll tell you so himself.)

The issue of how the story is told aside, I really like the stories, the characters, and the mannerisms that come through in the writing, like the "(sorry, Miss)" and the "(Lie detector says NO)" and the "I hate f**king XXXX, not that I ever have, f**ked one I mean" - those always make me smile. Some parts of the story, I felt so bad for Gilli (even if he did bring it on himself) that it even got a few tears.

And, Oh My Lord, the figging episode is one of the most hilarious things I have ever read in my life! I sprang many tears of laughter and couldn't breathe properly for quite some time.

So, even as anti-climactic as it was, 4 stars.

This second book by Gillibran Brown, consisting of his blog/journal entries during 2007, starts out as funny as the last one ended, but takes it a few steps further. It is worth buying and reading just for the "figging incident". That one is for the history books, I swear. Twenty years from now, whenever anyone mentions ginger, I'll still remember that scene and still laugh until tears flow.

This book differs from the first one in that, on top of being hilariously funny, it also starts adding layers to the emotional construct of the relationship between these guys. This story allowed me to start putting together the dynamics of the relationship and understand how and why it works. Believe me, it works. The overall impression from the first book is that Gill is a complete "Calamity Jane" and one wonders why the Daddies put up with him at all. Superficially, you understand that Shane added the houseboy with a dual purpose in mind:
a. to actually do the house chores, allowing him and Dick to concentrate on their businesses and making money while still keeping a neat house.
b. to give Dick an outlet for his Switch tendencies and high sex drive. Let's face it, Shane will never be Topped by anyone, and he's not exactly a spring chicken.

But the author little by little gives us details, scenes, a word here and there, that show the above reasons for his presence in the household are just the icing on the cake. Dick and Shane need the boy in their lives. I believe if they hadn't found him, they'd no longer be together, much less married.

I've just bought the next book in the series, Achilles and the Houseboy, and will start reading it now. We'll see if it bears out my analysis.

I envy Eileen, their neighbor accross the street. I am totally and completely hooked with Gill and his Daddies.

This is the sequel to Fun With Dick and Shane: The Memoirs Of A Submissive Houseboy which I adored. Gillibran is the houseboy for Dick and Shane, his Daddies. However there is a hierarchy, Shane at the top, Dick in the middle and Gilly definitely at the bottom. In all ways. Gilly is only 25 to Shane's 44 and Dick somewhere in the middle. He's very immature at times. He can't help being jealous of other people and situations (and even Dick or Shane on occassion), he acts out, is impulsive and spontaneous and ends up getting his ass warmed on an almost daily basis it feels like. He's also shriekingly hysterically funny. My only issue was by the end of the book it seemed to be more the same old same old. Gilly does something stupid, Shane gets pissed off and spanks him and they start over. There were things I wanted to know more about. Like Shane and Dick's civil union and how Gilly reacts (he says not well), but I have to remember, this is the diary of a real(?) person and he goes days between posts so I miss all the boring non-spanking days, he only reports in when he has something interesting to talk about, usually him getting in trouble. While he could be a brat to be sure, his men were sometimes freaking clueless and I didn't blame him for getting in a snit, as especially Shane could come across as a stick-in-the-mud grump, but on the whole it's a very entertaining read and I hope there is more because I'd like to know more about his mother's illness and the Christmas visit of Shane's sister (the bitch from hell - according to Gilly).

Oh and if you are looking for hot three-way sex you won't find it here. Some references (using Star Wars terms LOL) but it's not about the sex, but the relationship.

Poor Gilli, he pushed his daddies buttons a lot more this time around. Yes, he might be more bratty and defiant, but he's also hurting. He's got some things on his plate and he just doesn't have to proper tools to deal with them. I felt sad for him many times, cringed for him in others, and laughed so hard during one particular figging incident that my dog contemplated finding a new owner.

Shane has a short fuse in this installment and there were times where I questioned if this relationship dynamic even worked for Gilli any more. However, in the wise words of Gillibran Brown:
No matter what anyone tells you, living in a relationship such as our can be many things, but it's never easy.
Relationships were about accepting what was on offer at any given time instead of yearning for something else.

Maybe I should take a page from his book, and try not to be upset when I read I love yous from Dick but only faint smiles from Shane. Maybe Gilli will find some reassurance in the next book. I look forward to going on the adventure that is Gillibran Brown to find out.

Well, some things never change – and that would include Gilli. I don’t think houseboy is his true profession, I think it’s tormentor of Shane. Seriously, how many ways can you come up with to get your backside tanned? If it weren’t for the fact that some of Gilli’s antics and commentary were downright hilarious, it might have been a frustrating read. Instead of lather, rinse, repeat – the cycle seems to be piss off Shane, get spanked, repeat. Oh Gilli, will you never learn?

In typical Gillibran Brown fashion, I laughed and cried so many times. But I think for this book, I laughed wayyyyy more than necessary because of how COMEDIC Gilli's writing and stories are. I am honestly anxious about reading the next book because I've read a lot of reviews hating Shane because of the civil partnership. Gonna ready a box of tissues, folks.

This book and the previous book have shot straight to my favourites list. Gilli is just as endearing as ever and I found myself laughing hysterically at certain parts of the book. I won't say what they are because you have to experience them for yourself to get the full effect. I have never laughed so much at a book in my life. Shane also proves he has a sense of humour in this book. I am not a Shane hater, I know that puts me in the minority. I truly believe he's what Gilli needs. Among other things I think he makes Gilli feel safe. There's a part of the book where he's in trouble and he turns to Shane first that I feel proves this. Gilli is a complex and very high maintenance character. I feel he needs both Dick and Shane to completely fulfil his needs. Neither on their own would be enough. He craves both tenderness and strength. While he does get both from each man, he'll never get enough tenderness from Shane as that is just the way he is made, but he will get shed loads of strength. Dick however will show some strength but boat loads of tenderness. So together they fulfil Gilli's needs perfectly.
As well as being hilarious, this book is also emotional. Gilli is still coming to terms with his epilepsy and trying to fight against it.
Which as you can imagine Shane is having none of. LOL.
I found myself feeling very emotional reading both these books. The accuracy that the author (or Gilli) portrays the struggles of dealing with epilepsy is spot on. As a person with epilepsy myself I felt that the feelings and emotions expressed were very authentic and real. I have at times felt the same way myself. Also I too hate the words epileptic and fit, episode is much better. Despite this book being very funny and lighthearted in parts, it deals with a very real issue which causes a lot of distress to a lot of people and can turn your life upside down in an instant. The experience of feeling out of control is expressed very well as is the fear.
This book deserves recognition for how it portrays epilepsy. There are not many books, films, etc out there that do portray it. So I feel the author deserves congratulations for writing about it in a sensitive way. It certainly stirred up my emotions and made me remember when I went through what Gilli is trying to come to terms with.
Anyway enough of the serious stuff. This book is excellent. Funny, emotional, sweet, tender, did I say funny!!! Read it you will definitely not regret it. On to the next in the series.

This new installment in the adventures of Gilli had a different vibe. It felt more serious somehow.

And of course, the whole diary is laced with Gilli's sparkling sense of humour, strong as ever. Below just a scant few of the things that made me roar with laughter.
"Trust him to make an inconvenient January arrival into the world. I bet his mother wasn't expecting him until at least March. (It's no good crossing your legs, mother. I'm ready to arrive now, so just resign yourself)"
"this houseboy‟s bottom accommodated many things, but internal jewellery was not one of them."
"Being in the same room with her [the cat] is like being under fire from a furry machinegun bullet."
"WHACK! (Shane‟s hand making second contact with the seat of Dick‟s jeans).
Dick, theatrically clutching his arse: “I‟ve heard of spreading festive warmth, but this is ridiculous.
"

And one particular gold nugget of truth: "The secret of a good relationship is to accept and enjoy what the other person is willing to offer instead of yearning for something they can't or won't give."

This is so very addictive. Gillibran is always the same undisciplined, despondent, impulsive man who can't help putting himself in the most distressing situations. He is his best enemy. This time there is an undercurrent sadness and depression - even if it's too strong a word - and I really felt for him. I am amazed that Shane can keep this stern facade when every little good and bad thing Gilli does is to have his attention, to blip on his radar, to feel he is loved, not just endured. I found very interesting the problem between Shane and Dick, because the first book seemed to depict an almost perfect couple. I also felt that the civil union was a bit of a slap in the face to our houseboy and the fact that he just mentioned it happened, but didn't speak of it, is probably very significant. I want to say to Gill: "behave! grow up!" and also "hold on!" but also "go find yourself someone who will appreciate you more."

Just bought the third book, I'm going to read it tonight.

I liked this better then the first book and would have given it 3 stars, but the thing just didn't sit right with me and aggravated me the rest of the book. In all honestly, I feel bad for Gilli the whole book and the longer I read it the more frustrated I get to the point I wanted to cry when Dick's birthday came around.

Also there was suppose to be a chapter about Dick's bday or at least there was a mention that there was going to be a second input, but nothing ever turned up.

Oh and last thing. I liked the style of the first book better. Dick and Shane had dialogue and it made for an easier read in my opinion.

I feel like I should make a note here realizing that Gilli is actually a real person and this is a type of autobiography. I'm not judging his relationship as a whole, but what I'm reading and am putting down how it makes me feel because this is just another novel to me.

I enjoyed reading more about Gilli's life on this book. Much of it is the same but it isn't. While Gilli continues to be his usual defiant, bit selfish and sulky self he seems to be coming more to terms with the rules of the relationship he is in. Even though it is mostly after the fact he understands why this situation is what works for him.

We see growth in him and we also see more about Shane's and Dicks love for him.

For now I have decided to skip Achilles and the Houseboy and go ahead with Gilliflowers. I just don't think my heart is ready to deal with what Gilli went through on that book.

Gillibran Brown is a very funny man. The humour in these books is appealing & I often find myself laughing out loud as I read. Having said that, I do find the whole relationship described perplexing. Domestic discipline just doesn't make sense to me. Because these books aren't really erotica, I am able to enjoy the read despite the fact that the dynamics of their ménage just doesn't appeal. I am starting to wonder if Shane's hands aren't like leather after all the spanking I have read about in the two books & I want Shane & Dick to buy Gillibran a cat. I can't believe how invested I have become in these characters. I will be reading more books if they are written.

I have to say I just love Gilli. I must wonder sometimes how his mind works because he seems to get himself into so much trouble and always seems to dig himself in deeper before getting out.

I had to pick up the three books that were already out there and only wish one of them was the story about how these three got together.

I've added these books to my 6-star-fav's shelf and recommend them to anyone who enjoys a laugh or twenty.

Gilli kept up with his promise of making it good with this follow-up of his memoir.

What can I say that I haven't said already? I love my Gilliflower. Period.

I think I felt a little bit betrayed on behalf of Gilli. Well, I've offered my peace with my tears.
