Anna Maria Jones had left her Gypsy roots behind, but not her passionate nature. Sheriff Thomas Banning was determined to stir up both. And despite Anna Maria's resistance, he succeeded where a lesser man would have failed.
Not only did she find herself roped into a sting operation, Anna Maria discovered that being Banning's deputy was stimulating, indeed. But the closer they got to exposing the Gypsy boojo scam--and the closer they got to each other--the more ANna Maria feared her old allegiances would between them...
This was a nice oldie. The heroine who is a Gypsy is contacted by the hero to help bust a scam. She refuses at first but then the hero offers her a great incentive, a great vacation cottage and the chance to direct a play. I found the book charming and all the characters in it that included the hero's mother, her friend, his friends. Even the insights the heroine gave the hero about what her life as a Gypsy child was like for eleven years was interesting. When these two want to spend some intimate time together they are always interrupted hilariously. I liked the bond between the h/H, a nice read.
