Secret Strength has been a great inspiration to me. It is definitely in my top five devotional books. I love the scripture references and also that in most chapters there are blank half-pages which I found useful to write my own thoughts. Joni had gone through extreme tribulation as a quadriplegic but still is so real about the daily irritations of life and how to live victoriously, always pointing us again and again to Christ and the Bible.

Powerful, inspirational, and written in reasonably short entries so you can dip in and out, this is another great read from this author. So many times the Lord has used it to speak something into my own heart that corresponds with what I myself have been going through. It's very relatable and strong and well worth having on the shelf. Joni is refreshingly honest, and her faith shines through, in good and bad times, which is healthy for all of us. Great book.

In Secret Strength, Joni Eareckson Tada, weaves personal stories about her struggle with being a quadriplegic, with the truth of God’s Word.
Showing God’s love, even in such difficult times, this is a powerful yet challenging book.

I found this to be dated. Not everything holds up, but still a decent amount of helpful bits. Not including the scriptures she referenced was frustrating. I understand that it was meant to encourage you to open your Bible, but it made for an irritating readers experience.

A collection of daily devotionals which can be read each day as part of your personal Bible study or whenever you just have a couple of minutes and need quick refreshment. Joni always provides food for spiritual thought and these devotions are exceptionally well-written, as are all of her books.
