This tour book by Lonely Planet is really the only book out there with any information on Moldova. I am so grateful that it exists at all because the history and information about the region was very helpful.
I am normally a DK Eyewitness Guide follower, but they had nothing on Moldova at all. The Lonely Planet books are more for the backpacking through Europe and staying in hostels type of traveler. Since I was in Chisinau on business, most of the information on hiking and sightseeing really didn't apply. That being said, if you are going to go to Moldova (although I think that is a relative minority as they have no tourism) the book is worth purchasing.
