Naming a Practice: Curatorial Strategies for the Future

Rate this book
This publication features the proceedings of the Naming a Curatorial Strategies for the Future seminar that originated as an independent project within the Canadian curatorial community to provide a forum on curating in the visual arts. Organized in cooperation with the Walter Phillips Gallery and The Banff Centre, the event took place in November 1994. This publication documents the seminar, following the format of the event itself, and features transcripts of the formal presentations of each of the 29 participants, portions of the general discussion, as well as brief commentaries by each of the seminar organizers. The essays are grouped to address such topics "Methodologies," "Negotiations" and "Ethics," as well as "Local Knowledge and New Internationalism."
