I was very excited to read "Jordan" by Susan Kearney, but I was also putting it off because it was the final book in the AMAZING Pendragon Legacy series. I've always been a huge fan of this series, and I mean HUGE! I loved these book from the very first sentence. But alas it had to come to an end. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the way that the series ended. I just wasn't overly impressed with "Jordan" all together. It just felt like some parts were drawn out and then the scenes I was most excited about ended much too soon. This made me not feel as connected to Jordan and Vivianne. Not to mention the ending climax seemed a little lame and anticlimactic, and...overall just way too easy. I mean with a galactic battle you would expect someone good to die, even if it was a minor character. But nope, it was all happy happy joy joy in the end. Everything worked out just perfectly. Which for me was not good.

Jordan and Vi are a couple right up there with Lucan and Cael and Rion and Marissa. They had so many challenges that prevented them from completing their mission. And Their love was destined to be tragic, but they still managed to make what time they had work. I can't even tell you how much I respected these two for their hard work and faith in each other in the end.

The quest parts of this book were just as amazing as I had come to expect from Ms. Kearney's books. The quest's were one of my main draw's to this series. I mean there is the planet Pendragon, which is where King Arthur Pendragon came from, and then there is Avalon a huge egg like building built to hold and protect the Holy Grail. Plus all the inhabitants of that planet and many others including earth are dragon shifters with two hearts. I mean how much cooler can you get?!?! The answer is much cooler! In "Jordan" so many new things and events from Earth's past are explained. Which lets just say, are freakin' amazing!! And this doesn't even come close to explaining all of the out of this world amazing things that are included in this series. Which is exactly why I loved this series. But I guess my expectations for the final book outweighed the real ending.

This is a series that is classified as paranormal romance, but it is so much more. It's science fiction, fantasy, and romance all combined in one. I never knew that this type of romance novel existed until a few years ago when I found "Rion" (which is book 2, but I read that one first. Shocking I know!) and when I found these books I knew my world had just changed. Because I had just found my new all time favorite genre or style of book. Now my only problem is finding more amazing books like the Pendragon Legacy series.

If you are a reader that enjoys different books with an author who knows exactly how to transport their reader into a completely new world, than I would fully recommend you go RIGHT NOW and pick up "Lucan", the first book! Even if you aren't a reader who is open to different/ unique books how can you resist dragon shifting humans/aliens, galactic space travel, and sexy as hell hero's and Heroine's?

USA Today best-selling author Susan Kearney is a native of New Jersey, writes full time and has sold books to the industries' top publishing houses. As an award-winning author, Kearney earned a Business Degree from the University of Michigan. Her knowledge and experience spans throughout the romance genre, and her fifty plus books include contemporary, romantic suspense, historical, futuristic, science fiction and paranormal novels-- with Lucan and Rion as part of this series. She resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband and children.

After the death of her parents when she was just a child, Vivianne Blackstone focused on surviving and eventually became CEO of the Vesta Corporation. She’s put her love life on hold, and her latest project is a spaceship designed to protect Earth from the deadly Tribes. But its engineer, Jordan McArthur, not only threatens her job, but her heart too. Jordan’s past is tied to King Arthur, and he’s on a mission of his own. He needs to find an ancient artifact in order to save the galaxy. Vivianne’s ship is the only way to do that. When the ship is launched with a small, unsuspecting crew, Vivianne and Jordan are on a quest across the stars to the very end in order save all they hold dear. As the past and future collide, the passion between them is knocking down their defenses, and may just be the key to saving the world.

This is book three in the Pendragon Legacy series, the final installment, with Lucan and Rion coming before it. These books stand alone, with it not being necessary to have read the other books, but I would recommend it, as you’ll get more out of the experience if you do.

If you’ve read the other books in this series, you won’t be let down by this conclusion. It tied the other books together, continued the mission to save the galaxy, and was just as hot as the first two. Though I enjoyed the others, each book built in intensity, making this one pop. In this genre, an author really has to make the reader believe the plot is possible. Susan not only does that, she makes you wonder ‘what if’. The secondary characters added nicely to the plot, the setting was laid out in great detail, and the main characters were relatable. Here is an author who knows her conflict too, making this very hard to put down.

If futuristic romance is the future of romance, I’m on board…especially if Susan Kearney is writing them!

A Dragon to Trust is a staggeringly exquisite journey that is so much more than just a paranormal romance. It is a story about Fate pushing people and events together in an unexpected way that shakes people to their very core. They struggle to maintain focus while not allowing any deep, permanent connections to take hold and grow. All too soon, they realize that they can’t stop what is happening. All they can do is hold on for the ride and accept it. Of course, that never happens in a smooth or natural way, but that is what makes the story develop such deep and meaningful connections to readers. Without that connection, a story is not worth reading. This book is an incredible delight for your mind and an awe-inspiring journey for your heart.

Vivianne is a woman in constant control. She rules her business empire and her life with a strong, predictable hand, and she doesn’t take kindly to those that rock her world. Jordan is such a man who intends to do more than just rock her world. He intends to change the universe, and he doesn’t feel the need to ask anyone’s opinion least of all Vivianne’s. While Earth finds itself in a state of impending destruction, Jordan must convince Vivianne that he knows what he is doing which is the only thing that will save Earth and every other planet in existence. She hopes she can survive another day when she should be more concerned with her heart surviving the force that is Jordan.

I absolutely loved watching the sudden yet gradual change in Vivianne and Jordan not just to the danger they find themselves in, but in their growing connection to each other. The incredible characters, the spectacular plot, and the imaginative twists and turns along the way literally astounded me and kept my heart enthralled. I kept wishing for Jordan and Vivianne to catch a break and when they finally did, it was in a magnificent way that warmed my heart to the very core. I read the last words with a light, happy heart, and I can’t wait to read more by this amazing author!

While this is the first book I have read by this author, it will not be the last. I enjoyed her immense creativity and her boundless heart for the world she meticulously created and brought to life. Nothing makes me happier then reading a story from any author who puts their entire heart and soul into their creation and then sends it into the world for it to be experienced, savored, and cherished. This is one author NOT to be missed if you love being surprised and challenged.

I forced myself to read much more of this than I should have. It's very much a later book in a series, and not capable of standing alone. The book opens with the heroine confronting the senior engineer on her multi-billion dollar Earth-saving incredibly important spaceship project, who apparently has forged his entire identity and came out of nowhere six months ago. Already I know: these people are idiots. They've been working for six months and they've already got an almost-finished spaceship project? The senior engineer just appeared out of nowhere and they hired him anyway? Like, what did THAT interview process look like? Nobody checked ANY references? Nobody asked him for a job history? Nobody wondered why they'd never worked with him before if he was such a brilliant engineer? Nobody called his PhD adviser to see if he/she had ever heard of the guy? I just... I can't.

Nonetheless, I persisted, and learned, at varying points, that Earth is under threat by undefined aliens, that King Arthur is somehow involved, that the heroine, like many people on Earth, has recently become capable of transforming herself into a dragon (!), and that the hero is Merlin and possessed of a magical staff. Very few of these things are actually relevant for most of the story (that I read). Oh, and when the magical staff is plugged into the spaceship the hero and heroine become overcome with lust for one another - seriously, I'm just spoiling the first chapter here, folks - and have to boink, following which they telepathically experience each other's childhood memories. Again, I just can't. I thought I could, but I can't.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I have read each book in the series and enjoyed the quest for the Holy Grail to make sure that the Tribes would not succeed i destroying the Earth. This book was about Vivianne, owner of Vesta, and Jordan who was not just an engineer but Merlin.

This is a great take on the Camelot and King Arthur tales to include dragon shifters and space technology. Merlin, using the name Jordan, is taking up the quest to find the keys to the staff and then find the Holy Grail. Only after retrieving them and uniting the two will everyone be safe from the evil Tribes.

Along with this quest, Jordan and Vivianne find that they are attracted to each other and yet Jordan fights the attachment because he must complete his mission or lives will be lost. Plus, once he joins the staff and the Grail, he will die.

Vivianne can't help but feel the pain that Jordan puts his mission first but you can understand Jordan's got the future of the world to consider. So much for them to figure out and deal with their feelings.

It was great that they found out that Arthur was still alive, and living in a new Camelot with Guieverre and Lancelot - as a three some marriage! Much better ending than the usual tragic tale!

This book was fun to read, hard to put down with all the action and such steamy love scenes! I am sorry that this seems to conclude the Pendragon series as I was really enjoying them!

For the Final book in this series I was left feeling a little disappointed .......I can't put my finger on quite why ..........maybe it was the characters , particularly Jordan ,and their lack of meaningful interaction .
It just felt like some parts were drawn out and then the scenes I really enjoyed ended much too soon.

Vivianne is a woman in constant control , she rules her business empire and her life with a strong, predictable hand .Jordan is such a man on a quest nothing can get in his way ..........least of all stealing Vivianne's spaceship behind her back .
While Earth finds itself in a state of impending destruction, Jordan must convince Vivianne that he knows what he is doing ................that only the success of his quest can save not just Earth but also the galaxy .
Whilst the action is fast paced , some of the character's actions leave me questioning ....what? why?
I did love the interactions with Arthur Pendragon and the final reveal as to why he could not interfere directly ................a big surprise !

I love this Author's books , her imagination and world building makes for great storytelling .

I was given an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review .

This was the first book I read in this series, but that was okay it is a stand alone novel. The premise was interesting and the characters were likeable, but there was nothing that really stood out in this story. There was insta lust instead of insta love, and although it was fast for the characters to declare their undying love at least they got to know each other first.

The writing isn't bad, but this is not one of those books you can't put down. I did zone out a few times and skimmed pages but I never got lost or missed anything important. If you like dragons and Arthurian legends you'll probably like his book. If you're bored and just want to read something, this book is fine. But this book did not inspire me to want to read any of the other books in this series and I doubt I'll be reading any future installments.

GUEST REVIEWED BY KARRA

When workaholic and control freak Vivianne Blackstone discovers her gorgeous, difficult employee Jordan has lied about his life and work history, she freaks out. If that information is leaked to the press, her very successful company could be in jeopardy, making her dislike Jordan even more. She has no problems distrusting the man, but it’s herself she starts to doubt when she remains inexplicably drawn to the imposter.

The spaceship they’re working on is Earth’s last hope to recover the Holy Grail in an attempt to keep it from being used for evil purposes. The Grail has fallen into the Tribes’ hands, and with its power to make their enemies immortal, the holy relic could be used as a tool of destruction against every planet in the galaxy.

Vivianne is reluctant to fire her most brilliant employee, even though he’s lied about his history, but when Jordan scoffs at her attempts to rid herself of him and installs a mysterious new power source into the spaceship, one that not only sends the ship into orbit way ahead of schedule, but also fuels their secret desires for one another, Vivianne has no choice but to go along with Jordan’s hidden agenda.

And Jordan definitely has a hidden agenda. He has a destiny to fulfill, one that’s taken him thousands of years to achieve, and nothing—and no one—will stand in his way. But he can’t deny the attraction he has for Viv, as he calls her, or the passion they unleash when forces beyond their control drive them into one another’s arms.

Now as they, along with an untrained crew, hunt through the universe in search of the missing keys that fully power Jordan’s ancient staff (no pun intended), as well as prepare for the final showdown between Dragonshapers and the head of the Tribes, disheartening secrets are exposed and loyalties are drawn, causing panic and hurt amongst the crew in the final critical moments of the mission.

But with the realization that the galaxy and all Dragonshapers rely on the sacrifice of Jordan’s life to save them all, Vivianne must face the one man she’s come to love and reveal her own hidden agenda: she’ll stay and fight by his side, sacrificing her own life if she must.

Because Jordan has become Vivianne’s world and surviving without him isn’t an option.

Jordan is what I believe to be the third and final book for the Pendragon Legacy series written by Susan Kearney. There could be more books, as she left the ending with a plot opening, but as the main plot is wrapped up in this book, it’s more likely she’d deviate to another series rather than continue with this one. Only time will tell.

This series of books takes a historical figure like King Arthur and a mystical relic like the Holy Grail and entwines both into a world that is fascinating and chock full of adventure. I read the first two books of the series, Lucan and Rion, before starting Jordan and though all of the books can be read as stand alones, I would suggest you read them all and in order so that you can grasp the full story and wonderful world building that Susan Kearney has created.

The books are set in the future, where space travel from Earth is new and exciting, if not completely necessary, and new worlds and species are introduced in thorough detail. What’s great about each of the books is that even though they are romance novels, the plot is never lacking in excitement and there is never a dull moment. When the hero and heroine aren’t kicking butt or discovering the deceit of certain individuals, they’re immersed into exploring their relationship and its possibilities.

I’ve found that each book has a bit of a sex theme that’s kind of amusing ::cough cough:: dragon sex ::cough cough:: but for Jordan, I’ll give you two words: antigravity sex.

Oh, the visions that come to mind with that, eh?

That’s just one of the fun things about Jordan. Jordan as a character is totally gorgeous, and filled with so many secrets that at times I wanted to take a mallet to him and crack him open, exploring all the man had to hide. He is a strong character, literally carrying the weight of the worlds on his shoulders, and though his destiny is one that I would personally fear, he embraces it with dignity and grace, already used to the idea that he was pretty much born as a sacrifice for the greater good.

Vivianne is another strong character, who’s had to grow a tough skin over the years in order to survive and be successful. Thrown together with Jordan, they find comfort in each other’s arms, though neither is willing to admit it at first. As they learn more about one another, through conversation and mystically-forced memory swaps, their hardened shells begin to crack to reveal their vulnerabilities, allowing trust and love to bloom.

The imagery created in this book is vivid and detailed, allowing the reader to envision the exact setting as the author’s intended. I’m typically not a fan of science-fictionish books, with space adventures and explorations, but I enjoyed the adventures Kearney created as she sent her shape-shifting characters on a wild goose chase to various worlds in search of Jordan’s missing keys and ultimately, the Holy Grail itself.

The ending might have been a little hokey and a little of stretch in believability within her created world, but Susan Kearney somehow made it work for the book, successfully tying up all loose ends. The dialogue is straight forward and reflects the personalities of all the characters and with the attention to detail given to the surroundings and creative plot line, Jordan is a strong finish to what’s been an enjoyable paranormal romance series.

Rating: 4/5

I received a free copy via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

I had not read the previous books in the series but I found this to be really enjoyable with good characters.
The writing reminded me very much of EE Doc Smith and the Skylark series although a lot more erotic/sexier.

You know how you always hold out hope that a trilogy you’ve come to love will perhaps turn out to be a much longer series? I’ve had that hope while reading the three books in the Pendragon Legacy. But, as they say, all good things must come to an end, no matter how we wish differently. I’m just glad I got to go along for the wild ride.

We met Jordan in the second book of the series, Rion, though we didn’t know that for the longest time. But once he’s been reunited with his Ancient Staff that had been lost to him when his world was betrayed and destroyed centuries before, he now has some of his lost power back and we learn he’s a shapechanger and he’s also the legendary Merlin.

Vivianne is a self-made businesswoman and she’s financing the building of a state-of-the-art spacecraft to give humans an advantage in their fight against the Tribes, who are rumored to be on their way to Earth and bent on destruction. Jordan is the mastermind behind designing that state-of-the-art ship to help them find the Holy Grail, but Vivianne’s goal is to save Earth.

Misleading Vivianne just a tad, Jordan commandeers the ship, along with an untrained crew, and their journey into the unknown begins. After a few chapters of this space flight, I begin to think there’s a possibility the story might become a little boring. I mean, how much can really go on in such a confined space for such a long period of time? Don’t ask me why I was worried. Ms. Kearney does a terrific job of weaving in the unusual, the dangerous, the fearful, the lusty, and a few other things for good measure. I should have known better, especially when Jordan’s Ancient Staff throws its mojo at him and Vivianne, making them squirm with lust they can’t keep their hands off one another and then some. Just thinking about that initial love scene now gets me all hot and bothered.

Throughout the two previous books we’ve been given a very different, although the same, story of King Arthur and his Knights, and we finally get to meet the man, alive and well, in person. Ms. Kearney had me grinning when even Lancelot makes an appearance, no hard feelings at all with or toward Arthur. At this point, Jordan and Vivianne receive more clues to find the missing keys to bring the Ancient Staff to full power.

The only problem with doing that, however, is that bringing these ancient artifacts together will end Jordan’s life. Jordan is willing to give that ultimate sacrifice to have vengeance for his lost world, but as much as Vivianne wants to save Earth, she’s come to love Jordan and isn’t sure she can give the same sacrifice.

My only very slight disappointment is I wanted more of their dragons. As much as I’ve always loved the King Arthur legend, I love my dragons, and there is less of them in this book than the first two. But, hey, I got some great love scenes starting very early in the book, so while it’s not an even trade-off, it’s close. These characters sizzle in the bedroom, when they’re in it anyway. That first sex scene made me want to find the nearest spaceship. See, can’t get it out of mind now.

This has been a terrific trilogy. If you enjoy the Arthurian and Holy Grail legends, if you love dragons, if you can’t get enough of dangerously handsome and sexy heroes, and you like strong and sassy heroines, if you want something very different to read, you need to crack open these books. And having them just for the covers alone is fine by me. The first two are quite nice, but Jordan and his blue eyes and 5:00 scruff beats them both hands-down.

Vivianne Blackstone brought herself up from having nothing to becoming the CEO and owner of a billion dollar business, Vesta Corporation. Vesta Corporation is now in the public eye while it builds the spaceship Draco, which is the one hope Earth has against being conquered by the terrifying Tribes. Jordan McArthur, who had fought against the Tribes the first time they tried to conquer Earth, has secured a position as one of the lead engineers building Draco. Information has come to Vivianne’s attention that puts suspicion on Jordan as a possible member of the Tribe.

Jordan has to find an ancient artifact, the only thing capable of saving the galaxies from the Tribes. To do this Jordan launches the Draco prematurely with Vivianne and a handful of engineers on board, to search for the artifact. In prematurely launching the Draco Jordan has only heightened Vivianne’s suspicions of him plus Jordan’s secretive nature doesn’t help Vivianne’s opinion of him either.

I know just enough about the tale of King Arthur and the knights of the round table, that Kearney's intergalactic twist on the this old legend was a very entertaining and fast read. Jordan had just the right combination of adventure, mystery and romance. The romance between Jordan and Vivianne was absolutely believable; Vivianne doubted and believed in Jordan at the same places I did as I read. Jordan was steadfast, brave and loyal; all qualities that I admired in hero. And the passion between these two was red hot from the get go.

I especially enjoyed the secondary characters of engineers; they were just geeky enough that the geek girl in me got a real kick out of several scenes in the book with these inexperienced space travelers.

One thing that really caught my attentions were the quotes at the beginning of each chapter from various book characters plus a few outside ones. These quotes were hints to the oncoming chapter. Here are two non-spoiler quotes that resonant with life in general:

"If you love someone, you'd give up everything for them. But if they love you, they won't ask you to." - Lady Guinevere

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away."/ - George Carlin

Jordan was an exciting and satisfying conclusion to the Pendragon Legacy trilogy. For me all ends were tied and I was very satisfied with the ending. While each book in this trilogy can be read as a stand alone, I think to get the full enjoyment out this trilogy you should try giving all the books a go.

Vivianne is a self-made woman. Having lost her parents at a young age and being left to fend for herself, she's dedicated her life to being independent and running her own successful business. Her latest project, Draco, is a highly sophisticated spaceship that she intends to use to help save Earth from being taken over by the evil Tribes.

Jordan has lived for a very long time and most of that time was spent searching for the ancient staff that was taken away from him over 1,000 years ago. Using Rion & Marisa's help [in book # 2:], he was finally able to recover it and is finally ready to put the Tribes to rest by uniting the Staff with the Holy Grail. The hard part will be finding the Holy Grail.

Jordan then falsified a resume to get hired by Vesta Corp so that he can work on the Draco and use it to search for the Holy Grail. As you can imagine, Vivianne was none-too-pleased when she realized that Jordan's resume was a fake and even more irate when he used the staff to power the ship and launched them into space with only an amateur crew on board.

Their search for the Holy Grail takes them on a fantastic journey through space and several visits to foreign planets. Meanwhile, they're learning to cope with being stuck in space with no notion of where they are or where to go, an insatiable lust that seems to grip them an the most inopportune times and an amateur crew that's not prepared for any sort of danger.

I'm going to be perfectly honest and say that I had a little bit of trouble digesting these books only for the sci-fi aspect of it. However, if I can read about hottie vamps, yummy weres and tortured demons - then there's no reason I can't read about sexy aliens! Vivianne was my kind of gal. She was smart, sassy and feisty. Jordan was sarcastic, focused and ooh la la, sexy. Together, they were intense...and creative!

Susan Kearney does a great job of making this futuristic romance fun to read. She gives you a thorough plot and sees it through to the end. The storyline is as believable as a good author can make it - it does make you wonder though if someday space travel will be so feasible. I enjoyed these books more than I initially expected and will say that Jordan concluded the story nicely.

Jordan is the last book in Ms. Kearney's Pendragon Legacy series. I read the first book Lucan (see my review of the book here) but I didn't read the second book Rion and that's okay because this book can be enjoyed without reading the first two. First off, let me just say that I think this book have the hottest man cover out of the three in the series! Don't you all agree?

That being said, I think I would've enjoyed this book more if it was less busy. There was a lot that went on in this book and the telling became a bit uneven. There were also a bunch of stuff in this book that were a little hard to swallow like the fact that Jordan, the hero, is actually the Merlin from the Arthur legend and when Jordan and Vivianne landed on a planet and met Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere. In this book they are a happy threesome with Guinevere having so many babies one after the other that the men don't who the father is for some of them. That made me pause and go what?!

As for the hero and heroine, I liked them separately, I liked them together and I liked their romance. Jordan is the noble, responsible, take charge hero with a scarred past that I like. Vivianne, who also had a scarred past, is the strong business woman with brains, looks and guts and I thought they were well-matched. I believed in their romance (unlike the hero and heroine of Lucan) and they had some interesting sex scenes in zero gravity. This book focused more on finding the keys to Jordan's ancient Staff for the most part than finding finding the Grail but the last chapters did focus on the hunting down Tredonis and putting a stop to the Tribes from destroying earth plot that began in the first book.

Overall, I give this book a 2.5 (between an "ok but not great" and "liked it") out of 5. If you're looking for a cross-genre book, this is it. It is a romance, sci-fi, fantasy, futuristic, dragon-shifting book with non-stop galactic action--but sometimes I wish it wasn't trying to be all these things at once.

Ok, while certainly better than Rion, it still had issues.

So our H, destined to sacrifice himself to save the universe, falsified documents with the woman who'd financed Lucan's trip so he could build a space ship. Then, he used his MSOP (mighty staff of power - no; not THAT staff) to power said space ship and, because the staff has a mind of its own (don't all staffs), he succumbs to the MWOP which is apparently triggered by MSOP. Of course the h just happens to be on the ship confronting him about his documents and well, MSOP and MWOP think she's perfect. Somehow... I get the feeling their libidos aren't the only things overwhelmed by the MSOP's compulsion.

They then go off on a grand adventure to reclaim the keys to the MSOP, all the while being encouraged by said MSOP to go at it like bunnies. Eventually, they get the grail, unite grail with MSOP (there's some sort of symbolism in that the staff is slammed into the grail. Hahah), the universe is saved, and the H discovers that well, yes; he can live without his MSOP.

Oh, and Arthur is still alive. Further, he and Lancelot decided to SHARE Guinevere (who apparently shares with others as well).

The issue... a previous futuristic by said author had a similar theme in the last book - something forcing the characters to evolve. The problem with this is, it kinda creates a Sue/Stu situation. As in, oh. Convenient. They now don't need to breathe so they can fly into space (as dragons) and knock the missiles back into the attacking ships. Huh. Wow. And now they can what - fly to another planet? 'Scuse me while I roll my eyes.

Jordan is the third book of the Pendragon Legacy, following on from Lucan and Rion. It works well as a standalone novel, except for some rather strange concepts that were probably introduced more convincingly earlier (two-hearted dragon-shapers in particular). The story combines Arthurian legend with sci-fi, sending hyper-intelligent businesswoman Vivianne Blackstone out into space on a prototype spaceship with the mysterious, alluring, and not entirely truthful engineer Jordan McArthur at the helm, plus some scientists and stowaways.

The space-farers find themselves on a quest to find and unite certain missing artifacts. Rather jarringly, one artifacts in particular induces intense lust between the main protagonists, plus a touch of shared memories. The characters’ backstories are intriguingly drawn through the remembered scenes. But the plot becomes somewhat tortuous to a reader unfamiliar with “The Tribes” of earlier books.

Tension grows as the Tribes attack earth and the search becomes a race against time. Chaos, rather like that once cause by reading “War of the Worlds” on US radio, devours Jordan’s homeland, and the protagonists wonder if there’ll be anything left to save by the end of the tale.

The final scene is a delightful twist on space opera and good fun to read. I enjoyed the tale enough that, having found a stray copy of Rion at the bottom of a bookshelf, I shall probably read more. But this probably isn’t a series for readers too attached to solid historical or scientific interpretations of mythology.

1600 years ago, Jordan was the sole survivor of a ruthless Tribe attack which annihilated his world. To stop the Tribes deadly galactic conquest from continuing, he followed the Tribes to Earth, assumed the name Merlin and assisted King Arthur and his Knights to save Earth. When Arthur died, Camelot fell and Jordan lost his Ancient Staff. Now, over 1000 years later, the Tribes are back and so is Jordan. He’s recovered his Ancient Staff and is again on the trail of the Holy Grail to save Earth and protect the galaxy.

Vivianne Blackstone is a lady with her own agenda. An American businesswoman, self-made billionaire and a fighter from the get-go, she’s confident, capable and a definite type A personality. One of Earth’s brightest and most loyal citizens, she vows to do her part to save the planet when she learns the Tribes are on the move again.

Jordan and Vivianne team up to save Earth and along the way they fall in love. But according to galactic legend, there’s only 1 way to defeat the Tribes: Uniting the Ancient Staff with the Holy Grail. There’s only one catch, Jordan cannot live without the Ancient Staff. To defeat the Tribes and save Earth, he must perish.

Preface: This book was a gift from Goodreads First Reads. :)

Steamy sex. Beautiful women. Chiseled men. Steamy sex. Fantasy. The steamy sex is not really my gig these days (well, it use to be, in my younger days, but that's not for this review), especially when a man can spin a women like a roulette wheel while... well, you know. While having steamy sex.

Pushing the steamy sex (every several pages) to the side, the book actually had a pretty nice story line going. All the steamy sex parts fell into place, but there was one mix up in story (they were told the engines were OK, but later someone said they weren't sure if the engines were OK), and a couple times there was a jump (a hyper-jump?) in the flow, like something was missing. Perhaps a black out from the steamy sex.

Again, aside from the steamy sex, I enjoyed the story. Almost wanted to pick up the first two books in the series, but as you've read in this review, the steamy sex is brought to the fore too often for this reader.

Good read. Futuristic setting with an action plot and new characters. You've got to admire an author who can work Merlin [currently going by the name Jordan], the Holy Grail and dragon shapeshifters into a futuristic storyline.

Jordan helps build an interstellar ship [which he designs] on Earth but has to launch before he or the ship is quite ready. The crew is made up of the handful of engineers that happened to be working aboard at the time they left + Vivianne [the head to Vesta Corp. who funded the project], one of the engineer's girlfriend who he'd smuggled aboard to show around, and a small dog they name George who seems to have smuggled himself aboard.

Although Isaac Newton would cringe at the abuse of his Laws of Motion it's a good read - just leave your scientific training at the door...

The story arc of the series is resolved in this book, so don't read these out of order.

This is the third book in The Pendragon Legacy series. It continues to surprise me how much I like these books. I enjoy paranormal romance - but not so much sci-fi - which is how I would classify these. They are set in the future, involve other planets, spaceships, etc - though this one does have dragon shapers, King Arthur and Merlin! You can feel the attraction between Jordan and Vi, even though neither one of them wants to admit to it. As I moved through the book, I wanted Jordan and Vi to make a commitment to each other, even though it seemed as if it would be a doomed relationship. I am always looking for the happy ending! I did find it amusing though, that situations that would be impossible, or nearly impossible to solve, when set in the future, you just invent a robot or "power" to solve it. You can also see my review of Lucan, the first book in the series.

The third in Susan Kearney's Pendragon series, Jordan is my favorite so far. The story centers on the mystery of Jordan and his relationship to the Holy Grail and the Staff and how these unique items can help save Earth from the Tribes. It helps to have read the earlier books in the series, because they help explain the world that Jordan and Vivianne live in and what they're fighting.

There is plenty of action as Jordan and Vivianne travel through space and explore strange planets to find the clues and artifacts that they need to create a weapon strong enough to fight the invading Tribes. But there is an equal part of romance and rather explicit love scenes as well. Overall, Jordan is a fun escape.

This book is by far my favorite of Susan Kearney's "Pendragon Legacy" so far. Of the series this is the first book I have read all the way through in one sitting. I really enjoyed reading it. I like that we got to meet certain characters and see certain aspects of this futuristic world we had yet to see.

This book has an excellent plot, has a great sense of purpose and framing also, you know exactly what the characters need to be doing and what they are looking for. I also enjoyed the idea of Jordan and his secret past, that is my favorite part of the book, always has been one of my favorite literary characters. There are also multiple steamy scenes throughout the book and a couple that are anti-gravity, oh yes, wait until you get to those, very interesting. This is an excellent read and I highly recommend it.

Vivianne Blackstone is captain of a space craft. Jordan is part of the crew. Their mission is to save the planet, Earth. While that is their mission, the crew wasn’t totally prepared to deal with the enemy. This will be the battle to end all battles.

Jordan is the last book in the Pendragon Legacy trilogy. I have enjoyed this trilogy. The way that Susan Kearney connected the men to King Arthur was interesting. These books can be read as stand alone novels. The story line for this book was good. It was the chemistry that I would somewhat lacking between Vivianne and Jordan. When they would get together it was rushed. I was bummed that this book ended on a low note. At this is book tied up the trilogy. I still do enjoy Susan Kearney books and will read more books by her again.

After dragon sex at the 1st book at Lucan (yes, the h/H doing sex in their dragon form. Very graphic!) this one include a "no-gravity-sex", a "helicopter position" and "swirling-to-cause-an-orgasm-motion". Really weird and make me go, "huh?" o_O!!!
Then burst out laughing, ROTFL!!

After all its have an unique and nice twist of Arthurian Legend. One thing that bugged me a most maybe because Guinnevere have 2 husband. Her original hubby like what myth told, Arthur, and her lover, Lancelot. Two are better than one apparently for Guinnevere!!

The ending feel rushed and forced too. Even its have a potential to be continued.

I received A Dragon To Trust by Susan Kearney through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Wow, I don’t even know what to write in the review to not give anything away. Vivianne has sacrificed having any sort of life to build this ship -the Draco- to search for the Holy Grail needed to save Earth from destruction.
Jordan is her chief engineer who isn’t who he says he is. He ends up taking the Draco with an untrained crew through space looking for items needed to defeat the enemy and save earth. Vivianne and Jordan have a full to each other from the start, something they can’t control. Jordan is hiding secrets, Vivianne doesn’t trust him, but they need to work together and maybe find love.
Such a good book, romance with a lot of action and mystery.

Jordan McArthur and Vivianne Blackstone have to work together to save Earth and the galaxy from the Tribes machinations. Vivianne is an Earth dweller while Jordan is from another planet. Jordan has infiltrated Vivianne's business in order to help create the spaceship that is going to save the world. All kinds of things go wrong when Jordan launches the ship prematurely with an untrained crew.

I enjoyed this series and it's connection with Merlin and the Holy Grail. Though this installment wasn't as good as the others. A little too far-fetched and improbable to be believable. I really liked Jordan's character and Vivanne's tenacity.

I won this book on Goodreads' FirstReads giveaway contest. Since this is a 3rd book in a series, I wanted to read the first two before I delved into this one. Unfortunately, the Austin Public Library system only has one book of Kearney's Pendragon Legacy series and that book was Jordan, the one book that I don't need. So I went ahead and read this book without reading the first two. Luckily, it's not one of those books where it's necessary to read the previous books to understand what's going on.

I liked this book because it reminds me of a plot in Stargate SG1. The stories are no way similar but they both use advanced alien beings to be part of the Arturian legend.

Even though I didn't start out with the first book in the series, I didn't feel lost. This was a great tale on a classic story with a paranormal twist. I wasn't pulled into the book right away, it actually took a few chapters, but once I got in, I couldn't stop.
I found it interesting how the author could imagine such tales, but also mildly hard to swallow. I appreciate the classic tale of King Arthur, so in the beginning I didn't appreciate this new futuristic approach.
I am sold now!

Wow. I have to say it took me a little bit to get into this book, but this is my first book in this series. I didn't realize it was a series at first. It took some time building this world in my head, but Wow! This author was very thorough and did a magnificent job. Once it was formed, this was an awesome book to read. The details and imagination were phenomenal. The characters were great and had depth. I will be returning to the previous books to fill in what I missed. Great job. Really loved it!
