A new book from the team of Marthe Jocelyn and Tom Slaughter, Which Way? is an invitation to explore and understand the concepts we see every day in the signs around us. Navigating the world involves many decisions. How do we know which way to go? Will we pedal or drive? Do we need a map? Will we detour to see the scenery? This colorful book takes the reader along the right path; introducing road signs, directions, stoplights, and common sights that are part of any journey.
As with Jocelyn's wonderful Same Same, Tom Slaughter's simple, bold, and clean illustration style is an impeccable mate for the uncomplicated text. Pre-readers are introduced to various ways to get from one place to another, be it boat, tunnel, map, compass, detours, or by following street signs. Beautiful in its simplicity and absolutely perfect for the preschool classroom, this book will be appreciated by lower elementary teachers.
There are some nice depictions of common signs in here, which would be useful for many lessons including sight words, shapes, transportation, and more.
I have enjoyed other works by the author, but my inner child doesn't choose to engage with this, and I don't have an inner artist, so it's lost on me. It seems pointless. Can't rate.
Great book for early readers and their caregivers! Sharing this book with your child allowing them to recognize the signs on the streets and in the community you live in!
