They'd always been there for each other, until a moment of comfort turned into something neither of them were prepared for.
Five years later tragedy has brought Jenny Gardner back home to Parsons' Pass and the man she walked away from.
Jenny's ready to face the past, forgive, forget and let go. Too bad Tyson isn't. He had done the honorable thing yet Jenny walked away. And now she's back and expects him to pretend nothing happened between them. Tyson can't do that, just like he can't deny himself the one thing he has always wanted.
Jenny.
Tragedy has brought them together again. But it's the past that may keep them apart.
Warning, this title contains the Explicit sex, Graphic language and Sexy barn loving with absolutely no animals involved. Seriously, its not THAT kind of book.
Emma Petersen wrote her first romance in high school after falling in love with historical romances and has been writing ever since. She lives in sunny California with a cool cat named Toussaint and is working through an addiction to shoes and internet porn.
What I loved: Black Woman/ Native American Male pairing. What I also loved, the character development. The connection between Jenny and Ty was believable. They were good together and the story line flowed well for a short read. Actually, the premise was great.
Where did things go awry for me? The dialogue used to describe body parts and actions during sexy times. I couldn't get into the phrasing. There's very little that bothers me in sex scenes, but I have a series of trigger words that are like a cold bucket of water being poured on me. A few were included in this story. I would've rated this higher if I hadn't been jolted out of the story by the dialogue.
A novella that tells the story of friends who become more than friends and who are separated by tragedy and brought back together by tragedy. Yet there is so much negative history. The question is: is there enough positive connection between them to make a future together possible? It is a novella that is laced through and through with raw emotion, hot loving, desperation, and a glimmer of hope. Well written and in such a way that even the short format doesn't hinder the full telling of the story. At its core it is a story of love that is cut short, a man who tried to do the right thing, and two people who try to find a way back to one another in spite of some pretty overwhelming challenges and feelings. A very good read!
Jenny and Ty went round this thing for way too long and when tragedy strikes seems to be their trigger to get together. This is one of those stories that you could read again just for the awwwwwwwwwwww factory that is missing in the real world of love. Tragedy has a way of letting us know what we can and will lose if we shy away from it for too long.
Sometimes the person you belong with is right in front of you the whole time and sometimes, you have to make mistakes to realize it. Jenny and Ty have known each other practically their whole lives but they both have made choices to ignore how they feel about each other until a time comes when they can't ignore it any longer.
