King's Rhapsody

Rate this book
The book is based on the play by Ivor Novello. This is a tale of humility and prejudice against a background of political intrigue, gypsy warnings, Austrian hunting lodges, court balls, worldly chaperones, and masquerades. It is the story of Christiane, a beautiful princess from the Norseland, who at the age of eleven saw the King of Murania, Nikki, in a cafe with his elegant mistress (for whom he had given up his throne), and fell in love with him.

This is one of those "just ok" reads. It was interesting enough to keep me going but not one I mourned the finishing thereof. (and notice how ling it took me to read it - there were always more interesting things...)
